I was getting pretty bored with Day Z to be honest, after playing for about a week and trying hard to stay alive and out of peoples way while secretly hoping to find them because I was scared to lose my gear, it was getting a little stale. Running around with insane luck i found a huge loot cycled stash of weapons and grabbed an M4A1 CCO SD with 8 mags and turned the corner in an apartment building to find a Ghillie whilst in the same day scoring NVG's and a GPS off of a corpse in a Supermarket. Being the best and without worry was getting old, and I knew I had to lose my attachment to the loot. So what did i do? I ran across NWAF and lived, but i managed to do it again the next day and was promptly destroyed. I restarted and I've been having a ton of fun. Axe murder? You bet your sweet ass. Gunning down fools? Damn right. Running through cherno with my hands in the air? That's a fun experience to be honest too. Try it sometime guys, it seriously helped me. Kill some people, live a short brutal life and cause harm and try to team up with sketchy people in Cherno and see if you live,it was a seriously nice break from proning through towns and scouting everywhere before I went in. TL;DR - Axe murder, gun down and try to team up with people in Cherno and Elektro. Scaring people is pretty good too and so is misleading people only to kill them and drink their salty tears. See how long you can survive, its damn fun.

Title. I only have experience using an m4a1 CCO SD, so I would be better as a rifleman for now until I can get a sniper rifle. Any questions that I have to answer I'll do it here to make it easier. I wont post info about any of my gear for obvious reasons. Please be established and not fresh, I want legitimacy and people to learn from and who know what they're doing.

I'm trying to start my lethal career, yet I'm scared of having hackers destroy me on high pop servers but its nearly impossible to look for decent fights on low pop servers without going to Cherno or Elektro-even then it's likely to be packed with coastal cuties. NWAF is out of the question, I generally prefer a stumble upon type of situation or waiting guns at the ready vs. stumbling into a death trap littered with snipers. Any suggestions? Or am I stuck going to a high pop server and praying to the bean god?

I'd like to be unafraid, but I just managed to score some awesome gear on the first ingame day as well as having a ton of food and ammo ^^ I think I'll just try and go full survivalist until my friend can play (about a week and a half) and we'll get brutal on the community.

Rocket says you can't be banned for picking hacked items up, you can only be banned for creating them yourself. Don't worry man. I'm happy you found the stash and had no one shooting at you, I came across a similar situation and I taking fire, grabbed an M4A1 CCO SD with mags and hoofed it fast.

Losing the pack is nice, but the shemagh on the head isn't that cool really. Though, it is decent in the way that it shows who's killing and who isn't, but it wont stop me from capping the survivors who don't have the skin. Who knows, they might be looking to get that skin or are scared of me... better them than i. New skin is pretty weak in my opinion.

Be careful of the airstrips! They are frequented by players that are generally ready to kill on sight and are not interested in long time lone wolf survival (meaning they travel in groups and are well experienced). Barns are great places to start, but the Lee Enfield is extremely loud, firing guns near zombies will attract THEM and OTHER PLAYERS ready to kill you and take your shit, also getting a decent gun from the airstrips is a must. With shotguns, slug over pellets any day. http://dayzdb.com/map#3.065.078 EXTREMELY HELPFUL. Supermarkets are extremely good for survival and they also give you a chance at a number of great tools, although frequented by players. I generally play on low population servers to avoid HACKERS and BANDITS, this is also helpful when you're looting airfields and supermarkets since it reduces the chance of an encounter and your ass getting killed by jumpy people like me. Falling short distances can break your legs, effectively fucking you completely if you don't have morphine. Deer stands are good places to find guns since they are less frequented by players, thus reducing the chance of you dieing. BE PATIENT! Proning through towns and airfields to avoid detection is much better than having to start all over because you died. Don't waste ammo, food, and don't be too friendly - All of these can kill you. Good luck dude, and remember, playing the game and dying will give you the more experience than what we tell you now.

These are actually "NPC" survivors, they're just AI that randomly run around. I'm not sure why they're there, but they've been seen driving people's cars and getting out and immediately dying when getting out. Weird shit though, i'd be scared for my life begging for a sniper to take me out of my misery.
