How is fucking over people who are legit having connection issues, or people who are just trying to log off so they can do something else okay? Sure, there are SOME people who are lamebos, but severely inconveniencing everyone who plays the game so you can get your nerdragey catharsis on a couple of dickheads is a hilariously stupid idea. If someone is consistently DCing to avoid dying or confrontations, ask a server admin if they would consider banning them, you don't need to come crying to the forums and demanding that they take time out of actually improving the game so you can shoot some dude. -

I found a grenade in a deer stand, not even a smoke grenade, a For Realsies exploding frag grenade. I look at it, at the handful of Zs stumbling in circles in the field below me, and I smile. I take my time, I check the wind, this is gonna hit a Z right in the chest and blow him up and this is gonna rule. Swing my arm back and I throw, perfect motion, it was poetry. Weird, I figured you could see the grenade flying, you can see smokes, and bottles. I lean forward and look at the zombies, waiting for the blast. The grenade had hit the very lip of the roof and bounced down into the stand. With me. -
The SP version should be allowed.

It just feels like deliberately half-assing the experience, like playing G-mod offline, or Unreal Tournament with bots. I mean, first time I played DayZ, I had just installed it, and had never played it or ArmA 2 before. I had no idea what was up, and I had a BALL figuring it out while talking to folk and seeing people. I had a dude mentor me and we went on an adventure and shot a dude! Nothing says 'Welcome to Chernarus' like sharing a terrible murdersecret with a guy. -
Yeah, I usually go for middling servers, low ping and only a dozen or 20 people, that seems to be the sweet spot and I either don't see 'waiting for server response' at all, or only for 30 seconds to a minute

Smoke grenades are pretty neat! You can use them for lots of stuff! You can lure zombies or cover a retreat or distract bandits or victims or add atmosphere at a concert or haunted house

If you are at the response step for more than a few minutes, or end up in a forest and you can't move or access anything, retry joining the server or try another one, it's just one of the hazards of playin' an alpha
