  1. One thing is very important in my opinion. I have seen that you are going to release the standalone on multiple platforms. Good, more cash in the budget later on, but.. If you even consider releasing some half baked port, like so many other games you see out there, I will not even remotely consider buying the game. I like playing PC games on my PC.
  2. Hello guys, I am trying to limit the voice communication on my server to the direct channel. Is there a way to sort through which channels you want voice on? Hope you can help me out.
  3. My server is just a test-server, I am looking into how things could be. I haven't been able to limit voice communication to direct channel and I really want to find a way to do it, any help to accomplish it would be most appreciated. Anyone knows if it can be done?
  4. So you don't know how? Or are you just asking out of curiosity? I really couldn't answer that.
  5. Hey guys, Your "_runA2CO_beta.cmd" normally can't be run through Steam because it is a *.cmd file, but this can be fixed. You can compile the "_runA2CO_beta.cmd" file into an *.exe by using Quick Batch File Compiler, you can even add an icon to it. Afterwards you can add that *.exe as a non-steam game in your library at Steam. You can even name the exe 'DayZ' so it goes by its true name :o how about that? I found it useful since most of my mates are playing other games on steam. Hope this can be helpful to some of you. Tell me if you need help with more detailed instructions. Have fun :) EDIT: By the way, "BATCHtoEXE" is a freeware program that is also capable of compiling EXE's. I am not sure if it has the feature to add icons though.
  6. I just think we look at things differently. The batch file refers to something else, nothing refers to it, so theres no danger with AV or BE for that matter. The compiler is useful for many things, so I don't mind having it :) I like doing something for my stuff to work, even if I have to keep my eyes open for changes to the cmd file after an update(which I will performing manually anyway). 95948 / 1.7.2.5. now.. if DayZ commander is running the same I take what I said back.
  7. How is that better than what I suggested? The cmd file is much more flexible than adding lines to a shortcut. And compiling a batch is a 1 click operation. Also, DayZ commander is not as stable as a manual build, I have friends who are experiencing problems with it.
  8. Noone found any use in this? It is as far as I know the only way to run the newest versions the day they're released, through steam. The installers don't offer the same flexibility. As an example I'm running build 95913 / 1.7.2.5. with access to the steam overlay.
  9. What I said was meant to be an allegory, and I agree with you, but my argument stands ;) This was meant to be an on-the-fly command that immediately prompts the server protection to react, not direct contact with the the people at battleye.
  10. The people hosting servers should know that they are doing the dayz team a favor, they are a part of a whole. It's NOT their right to manage everything that's going on there. You don't necessarily get a seat at the table by donating to a company, and in this case it would be potentially devastating to the consumers... so where's the beef? This might get a little off topic, but what if admins were able to prompt battleye to investigate a single user thoroughly. That way cheaters could be dealt with swiftly. This would probably have to be coordinated with them as well though.
  11. Hello guys, My favorite private server was restarted after a performance update and since then I can't log in. It freezes at the "loading" screen. I can join any other server and none of my friends have this problem. The server itself is up-to-date. Newest version of dayz and Battleye. I'm aware it's a private server, but me and my friends waste time there whenever our crew is not together, to avoid spawning close to the airfield alone ^^ I have already tried reinstalling all of Arma2, Arma2 OA, Dayz, Battleye, Battleye for OA. No luck. Are there any settings they could have changed that would affect my rig and connection in particular, but not others? Can I paste a debug for you guys somehow or something to give you move info? I hope you can help me.

That's just weird... maybe I can ask the admins on the server to delete my character on the server. As stated it's a private server so it's non-hive, but I guess it's worth a shot. If anyone else have other ideas please let me know.

40 mins? My rig is very fast, its running on an SSD and with a 60mbit connection. The rest should be server-side, and none of the others have problems there :/
  14. I only read the parent topic, but I have an idea that might ease this up a bit. The possibility to free up a slot on the server should be enabled ONLY IF the server is full. It shouldn't work as a kick, but be a random selection of a person(possibly with the option to exclude other admins who are currently logged in). I see the problem making people able to kick could and would pose, but this might remedy it.
