I never left the coast no, because I never got that far. Leaving the coast is usually a bad idea before you have any gear at all. The most useful I've seen is a can of beans and a water bottle. And also some water purification pills. I love having a hard time in survival games, but that's not what this is. I might as well have been a cow on a field, they have as big a chance of obtaining gear. I've been crouching to get close to buildings so I could loot them, and I still got aggro all the way across a huge field where it was hard to even see the zombie yet.

Hey guys, I've attempted to get into the SA. So far I haven't seen a weapon. Over 3 hours of game time and 5 servers or so, the closest I've gotten is a fire extinguisher. You need a weapon though because the zombies can't be shaked any more and they run full speed indoors so at some point you run out of stamina and get eaten. Fists are fine since they can knock out zombies, but after being hit just 1-3 times you start to bleed and it doesn't stop till you're treated or have bled out. The hospitals don't have medical gear, the fire stations don't have military gear and the supermarket only has food. Even if I got a gun once I would run out of ammo in no time, I haven't seen any ammo in the game yet. In short there isn't really much to do in the game right now besides running from house to house looking through another couple of hats or similar useless gear. Why have such radical and horribly bad changes been made from the mod to the standalone? The loot tables are royally screwed. At the same time the zombies have become faster. There are fewer zombies, but it doesn't matter when it tackles you from behind because you run out of stamina and then make you bleed out before you can get treated.

Difference there is that I've played the mod months before I made this account on the forums. Early 2012 and I have over 1k hours in it. I know how to play the game, very well too. I've been there through all kinds of odd glitches and exaggerated gameplay(stumbling over a branch breaking your leg leaving you bleeding or textures being distorted all over the place at Balota airstrip and other places anyone?), but when you're prevented from looting the simplest of things because zombies hit you from an open entrance throughout an entire building it becomes impossible to play. Hence my question. I've read about this before, but I'm not sure what you mean with syncing. It's not like there was any problem with the connection at all. I wrote about it when it happened, which is why I know it was in September(posting history). I was looking at them looting some melee weapon as I recall it. It was an industrial low yield spot near Tulga(126,109). It isn't just any bug though, it is a gamebreaker that would require me to either have already geared up and be lucky enough not to pass out immediately(like I did) or have someone else with me. I came in skeptical because there were so many issues the first times I tried playing it(release date and a month later). I remember being happy they had been fixed, and then I died to that BS. I would be less concerned with all rifles exploding in your face if you try to use them than a bug like this. You can decide not to use rifles, but you can't always decide not to be chased by zombies.

In my case it was a garage. The kind that can't close. It was open, but they didn't run inside, they were just standing at the open entrance and hit the air and somehow that killed me.

Hello guys, It's a while since I've been here. I was excited about the DayZ Standalone and felt like I got let down when it finally come out. Then I forced myself to give it a chance last year, but.. I had only played around 10 minutes till I entered a garage with zombies running after me(grey building, single car size). Instead of following me in there they stood at the entrance, and killed me by hitting air at the doorway. I got knocked down in one of the first punches and then they killed me even though none of them were anywhere near me. That's where I understandably 'rage'quit. Have issues like that been addressed now? Is the mod still recommended?

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)

That's exactly what we are talking about. -
Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
AtotehZ replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
If it is the way you say it is, it is a game breaker. This should be fixed right now. This is more important than map design, balancing tools and weapons and whatever else I can think of. Running around unarmed trying to loot is not fun when the zombies that chase me just stop at the doors to buildings and kill me from there no matter where I go from that point. -
Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
AtotehZ replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Hey guys, Is it common that zombies just stand at the entrance to the building you are in, hitting the doorway and causing you to take damage throughout the building without them being anywhere near you? I could stand in the center of the building and look at them standing outside in the doorway, hitting it, causing me to take damage. I just came back after 6 months to see how much the game has improved and literally in the first minute of playing this happened. I'd have thought these were the kind of bugs that would be addressed first. If this was a quick fix to lacking pathing in certain buildings I would rather have them being unable to reach you because this is just too bugged. -
I am opposed to that idea. Urban camo clothing would be better from a gameplay aspect. A mask with urban camo clothing would be cool. A ghillie suit is not supposed to be an all-round solution, but let you blend into the landscape. It would be overpowered and unnecessary when proper selected urban colors are effective.

Isn't that being a bit captain obvious? A weapon is also a tool, so is a compass, map and so on. That doesn't mean the features they hold can't be discussed and altered or improved.

So I've mapped some helicopter crash spots
AtotehZ replied to lemmi's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You're cheating yourself out of A LOT of choppers. The majority is around Stary Sobor. Going to newly restarted servers and checking that area is the most effective. You are right about Gorka, but it is so far off the map that it isn't worth it in my opinion. Also, if you want camps, check all the way up North. People often put their choppers there. Especially north of Berezino and a way up North of Devil's Castle. -

If you want a good route for looking for choppers, here it is. Do this at night, it is much easier to find choppers at night because of the fires. Remember to do a spin sometimes to check. Start East-Southeast of Novy Sobor [074 | 075]. Go straight North in a bow counterclockwise around Novy Sobor Look around and continue South around, close to, Stary Sobor. Get the high ground west of Stary Sobor and continue west. Seek the high ground, aim to pass through around [050 | 077]. Keep going till you are around [040 | 077]. Head North to Dichina [044 | 072] and get a look around in all directions. Head straight North till you are at [045 | 061]. Get a quick view of the airfield from the end as there are often helicopters. Go to the field West, then Northwest of Grishino. You're done, and near the barracks if you didn't find anything. You can look a little at the map Dongtacular made while you're at it, but you'll get a hang of where they are very quickly. If you're determined it is not hard to find 10 choppers in one evening on foot. Just remember to keep your eyes open, he hasn't found them all, neither have I. Another tip. Do yourself a favor and 'clear out' trash loot from the spawns and wait for it to respawn for better loot. Choppers don't respawn(duh). Here's how it works: http://mydayz.de/en/...wn-how-it-works By the way. You'll want to stay hidden in the illustrated green zone while waiting for the countdown. 50m away and you're usually certain that every loot spawn point has a chance to respawn(not all will) Yet another tip. When you are gearing up, if you want it easy, go to Cherno and move from high yield to high yield industrial building(check the map). There are 6. They have everything you need, except a hatchet and a military weapon. They're also the best place in the game to get a ghillie suit if you clear trash, move to the next one, clear trash... etc, in a circle. -

I guess the picture shows what were talking about, but it's definitely not among the best out there :) Maybe you took it because the net is visible? Here is what it looks like if you apply vegetation properly.

Funny :) I've never seen it, but thanks for telling.
