After finding a bunch of vehicles that a hacker obviously teleported together, my friend decides to do some stunts(he's always up for it.)

Here's a video of 3 bandits getting shot at, they had opened fire on my 3 friends far to the right. The first bandit I shot was the worst, he had been causing trouble and shooting friendly players all day, until he shot a friend of mine, which prompted a search for him at his last known location. We all met up, but didn't find him. Then about an hour later, near Stary Sobor, he and between 3 or 5 of his bandit pals sneak through the woods and into open ground, initiating the gunfight on my friends. I couldn't believe it, the guy I'd been looking for was immediately in my crosshair. I hit record and put some shot on him, confirming to my friends that we were under fire from bandits. My target got low and rolled to face me, seeing my name before he died. I think he popped some shots towards me, and then later cursed my name at his death screen. I ran for cover, expecting return fire any second from the others. I reached some trees and still remained undetected from starting on their right flank, and looked towards my friends to relay the opposite compass direction, so they knew where to look for targets, then added to check their targets before firing, since I was in the same place as the bandits. The second guy came into view running through some trees away from my friends, he was chased by zombies. I got some hits on him as he ran, then he dropped low and I heard some DMR or M14 shots whizz past me. He died as I kept firing. Some fire came from my right, I was tardy to face it, but noticed him eventually, and decided to strafe and place a tree between myself and him, breaking his line of fire. Then a move I constantly pull to some degree of success in other games, is coming out of the cover immediately after going in, sometimes throwing off the attacker. As I strafed back out, he was still firing on me, my return fire went past him as I strained to see my crosshair, and then made a quick correction aiming on him, finally getting some hits. I think he survived, as I went down and announced to my friends that they should shoot any remaining targets on the hill. The death messages were constantly flowing for a few seconds, and another friend far away noticed the deaths, and asked me what was going on. He was part of a well organized group I like to call "the Spanish group"(because they are all Spanish.) I reported the bandit attack, a few details of it, and he replied stating that the bandits had been stealing vehicles from their camp site. Hackers? If you're talking about the unusually high amount of vehicles, it's because we were on the Vilayer hive, which has x2 vehicle spawns. I'm pretty sure you have to look all the way up, then spam the sit animation. Glad you liked the video :)

I was nearly killed by placing a tent, my blood meter was flashing red, so I healed myself and it's stuck clear now, not green. But the color in my screen is back to normal. As I understand it, if I turn on my debug to see my blood number, my thirst indicator will break too. I'm sure there's a way to fix it clientside, so just a little annoying really. I've never had my blood indicator break before 1.7.2.6 To sum up, the blood counter image can indicate loss, but not gain.

People have kindly suggested that this gun is either the KSVK, or AS50 TWS. Thanks for the help guys. Excuse the pixels, I only saw this guy from a distance. Everyone got teleported to the same spot and he was instantly firing at a chopper. I can't tell if his weapon is scripted in or not.

I wasn't paying attention to the fire rate, but he got a hit on the chopper sure enough. So this gun is either the KSVK or AS50 TWS, thanks for the help guys.

It runs flawlessly smoothly compared to many others, and serverwide chat is enabled. I've met some cool friendlies through serverwide chat, today acouple of guys were running toward me and we got chatting, rather than shooting eachother. That and admins are always helpful, would recommend.

I start recording as me and 2 friends confront a thief stealing from our camp site. We hit a language barrier, but stay chilled out as we try to communicate.

I was almost going to shoot him, but I wanted to know if he was one of my Spanish friend's group before firing. I didn't mind asking him in person, cause if he'd shot me then he'd have 2 guns firing at him from both sides. By the time I found out that he was a thief, I was comfortable with him since he didn't mean any harm. He just wanted some stuff, and I had 20 tents worth of stuff, so I could easily spare some for him.

A friend comes across a tractor in the dark, he drives it over to me for a ride. He decided to take it all the way to Stary Sobor with the headlights on, not the best idea he's ever had. He found another one for me, again in the dark. That ride was longer, but ended in another unfortunate explosion.

After 150 hours of gameplay, this sadly was the only ATV I've ever ridden.

I met this guy on youtube. I take DayZ quite seriously, and he's quite casual. Things do not go well...

This was my second tractor, a friend found it for me. He also found me my first one, which was a pretty experience.

A couple of unarmed guys were running together, so I stalked them, they never looked backwards. I lost them at some trees, as they arrived at their secret tent site and were crouching around it. Then one saw me, and scuttled away, he probably saw me and my AK74, and had a heart attack. I ran off and came back an hour later, they had an AKM in there, so I put my 2 spare AKM mags and a tin can in their tent and saved it. I'd pay to see his reaction when he finds the tin can. One time I was in balota, I didn't see any zombies around so I thought it was empty. There turned out to be a guy picking up a weapon in the control tower. I pointed my makarov at his head, then before he could react I ran passed him and up the stairs. He kept repeated on his mic "friendly friendly" and then "thanks" as I left the building. I think he pissed himself. Another time I was visiting a restaurant in elektro, some guy comes in and shoots me up. I decided to not die and just have broken bones, then crawl towards him and empty an M1911 mag into him. His death message came up, and I'd only saved myself 400 blood, so died while bandaging. This one noob was crawling towards a zombie for whatever reason, he hadn't seen me and was focusing only on the zombie. Then he started getting hit cause the zombie got aggroed, I didn't even shoot the zombie to help him. He must have been so mad at me if he knew I hadn't helped lol. A friend of mine hadn't fired the lee enfield before, I gave him mine and told him to get some "target practice." I nearly died laughing when I watched every nearby zombie rushing him. He stuck with me for some reason, and found binoculars. He'd take every opportunity to use them, saying he was checking for "snipers." I got a bit annoyed at the constant stopping, so would stand in front of him like the sand people guy when he did it, except I didn't knock him out. I found a newbie on the coast while I was trying out a crossbow, I didn't have any bolts left but the gunmodel has a bolt permanently loaded. I dropped it infront of him and he happily took it and ran off. I bet he thought it was good for one shot, he probably kept clicking the fire button for ages while a zombie was all up in his face. Luckily I found an ATV in a barn just south of the big airfield, someone must have parked it there cause it was choc full of guns. I decided to try steal it, only got as far as outside the door before it threw itself onto its side. I bet the owner goes nuts when he sees he has to push it back onto its wheels again. I got a video of that one Damn I love trolling...

A friend has a car and offers me a ride to Elektro, I take up his offer, and then fear for my beans as he throws the car round corners in the darkness.

I found a bike, and drove it to see what's beyond the marked map. The vehicle was safely returned to the map boundary afterwards. I wasn't sure about posting this here, but it's fairly well liked thanks to the music, so I hope you enjoy.

Battleye updates during gameplay, so clicking OK shouldn't hinder it doing so. When I first got kicked it was at least half an hour after clicking OK to get into the game. It sounds like your Battleye managed to update, and you've contributed it working to the fact that you were in the lobby, which might be totally incidental. I'll give it a go all the same, but I wouldn't call it a fix until enough people have had it consistently work. #Edit : After waiting a minute in the lobby, Battleye did update and work. I was only kicked twice in a row before, so can't say it wouldn't have updated anyway.

Found 2 bodies on the same server with the name "Dont Fire Me" http://i.imgur.com/L2Tg0.jpg Sometimes people have their computer's names, I guess they never thought anyone else would see them. Mine was "Mike2012" until I made an arma 2 profile, I called it 2012 so I'd remember what year I got the hard disk.

I like the idea of tents having a note that anyone can edit, like ships can in PuzzlePirates(only officers of the crew could though.) The owner can label what he put in, so he'll notice if something was stolen or the server ate his stuff. I'm always placing tents and not remembering when I did it or what I put in it, or the last time I replaced stuff after a server restart. I'm having to make notepads on my desktop, with map screenshots, just to keep track. Also, I was stalking a couple of unarmed players, and they arrived at their tent. Then one saw me and scuttled away, probably since he saw that I was holding an AK. I wish I could leave a note in their tent saying "sorry for scaring you, next time you won't see me."

Me and my friend spot some guy with an axe, we chase him and fire towards him without announcing "friendly" and then he wants to stay away from us for some reason...

Glad you guys liked it, I can't remember which server it was. Gotta love the old Nintendo themes.

I had 8 tents, only one of them saved an item, but it could never save more after that. This had been after several restarts and putting junk in them. Then one day, they all suddenly worked. They are all on sloped ground, I tried several methods to get them to work, but all of them ended up working anyway. A lot of what people suggest about getting tents to save items is guesswork, and outright superstition. There was a fix, which helped my tents on 1.7.2.4 but some still have issues. My advice would be, don't try too hard trying to get them to work. Eventually they might, but you will have little effect on that, other than keeping them from disappearing and placing more.

I still get this issue on 1.7.2.5 servers sometimes. 1.7.2.5 hasn't been released for long, perhaps you'll run into it if you play longer.

This is either an issue with being in towns, or a server issue. Some towns drop me from 50fps(in fields) to 20, seems normal enough. The server issue will drop my FPS to about 25 in fields when I notice it getting abnormally low and it keeps dropping over an hour, I log out when it gets as low as about 15, and I hop into another server which will fix it. The game will render the same spot at the same time of day, and the frames will shoot up to normal levels on the next server. When my frames are getting low, I notice my GPU usage is running at about half or lower. Normally when I'm getting 50 frames, it's running at 100%. So for some reason a server will sometimes cause my GPU to work less. One server had no players during peak times, I wondered why and joined it, then I got about 2fps. It's rare to see it that low, but with Fraps running showing my frame counter I commonly have trouble in towns when my frames were dropping anyway, and having to render a town on when the GPU is not working very hard will make this unplayable. Some people will suggest changing the video settings, but if they were ran the framecounter for long enough and also had these issues, they'd know the video settings wouldn't be able to rescue the 20 missing frames per second. I reckon the bottleneck changes from GPU usage to somewhere else, producing this issue. My only suggestion to fix it would be wait for a server restart, or try another server.
