  1. I duped a Jerry Can earlier by filling it up at a fuel tank - not sure if I pressed multiple times or not.

    DayZ Challenges

I know it's like a cool pun-like achievement list, but fixing a littlebird as 'Black Hawk Up' really rustled my jimmies. I like to try and replace all the loot in a supermarket with toilet paper.
  3. I tend to avoid high powered rifles anyway, much too loud. A good AK74-U does me just fine and it's reasonably quiet. The Bizon is just an example, and the reason I think it's crap is because its ammo is much too rare to warrant holding on to it. I really like the idea of something like a 'trophy' shotgun or something in a manor house, of which there is only one on the map, but it wears down quickly and is inaccurate. Would make a valuable keepsake but do you use the space in your pack to carry it?
  4. I believe the nuts and trailmix give 100 blood if I'm not mistaken. Taste Papa's Nuts.
  5. All nice ideas, and I agree that there should be more longterm endgame content, but I dislike two of your points: 1) I don't want any form of NPCs in the game. DayZ became popular because it is entirely based around being the story of people, not machines. 2) A siren that would call players to 'defend the base'. Surely a siren this loud would just bring every single zombie in the map? It is illogical and unrealistic. I'd rather have a way of communicating over short wave radio and such and if you don't hear it, it's your fault and problem. Again, DayZ became popular because it is so unforgiving. Just my 2 pence.
  6. It's nice.. I can see about using it on one of my designs if you'd like? The only problem is that it says rdketd. I can churn out cans easily its just testing them in game that is proving almost impossible . :(
  7. TBQH I've noticed the devblogs have slipped into a more fortnightly style anyway.. And I really don't care when we get them. I'm definitely buying the game anyway, so any new stuff to look at is either spoiling the fresh experience when it comes out or just plain interesting and exciting. Probably why I'm going to try and limit the amount of streamers playing the alpha I watch when it goes more open.
  8. A bit pedantic, don't you think? I mean, you're right and all, but, how do I put this nicely... No-one cares?
  9. I'm sure on a private hive it's possible, but if you're talking about the standalone, I would rather they weren't implemented. Personally, I'm not too keen on them.
  10. Do you think we should set up some kind of thread for community assets? This is serving the purpose for now but a directory of related threads, and general ideas would be cool, especially if it were pinned. I have some good ideas but at the moment I'm still having trouble with MySQL for localhost so my work has stopped.
  11. I really like this idea.. if you look at it some weapons are utter shite but are so old and rare that they are collecters items. To be honest, it's already like this, the Bizon SD is crap and it's super rare. There could also be rare trash loot that could be collected by some players, maybe it could take on value as a currency (for instance a certain toy or something is worth a lot more than a single empty can).
  12. I don't know if this has been suggested before, but it just popped into my head that it's odd when you're walking around the NWAF at night and then suddenly you are blinded by the mysteriously still-powered PAPI lights, ie the four white/red lights at the end of the runway. Just a small thing, but turn them off. Would keep the whole 'no power grid' thing going.
  13. I'm sure there's something in the map editor that would allow us to get rid of them (as in Visitor or something).
  14. If you zoom out all the way on a map ingame, you can see a hell of a lot of empty terrain (which I'm not sure if it's height mapped). I would love to get the whole of Chernarus (rather than just South Zagoria, which is the current map), with the much larger cities (look at maps such as Mitrovice for ArmA 2). Check out the Green Sea Expansion Project, a community mapper is creating all new areas of Chernarus such as other islands, a farming region, it all fits to the theme and the changing scenery and variety, and even the sheer scale of such a map would be amazing (and fitting with the DayZ theme).
  15. Hahahahahahahahaha the chain never stops.... Fucking creepy though isn't it....
  16. They only last for about 1000 hours, or 42 days, and I highly doubt that a place such as Chernarus would have any of those new-fangled solar ones that have started appearing.
  17. Since we're on the topic of paraphrasing Les Mis lyrics: On my own, Pretending MySQL's working, All alone, Error 1045 haunts me
  18. Some more ideas for models I've had: Dry food mix (must be mixed with water in a mess tin over a fire to cook and eat properly) Mess tins (military), Enamel Bowls (Civilian) - used for cooking Lighter - like matches, but with fuel (compared to perhaps having 20-30 matches in a box) Random trash loot such as: Cutlery, batteries (although could have a use later), candles, toys.
