Been playing standalone a lot recently and I noticed how much of a terrible person I am! I try to be friendly honest but when I have someone in handcuffs my mind comes to haunt me. My crimes have included. 1. Shooting on sight (only did it once because I got scared....by his magnum that had no ammo.) 2. Giving someone begging for water some cleaning solution to drink. 3. Holding up new spawns even though they have nothing on them. (though you would be surprised what they can hide in their pants! -_-) 4. Being low on blood and too lazy to get it myself. Found a new spawn with my blood type and handcuffed him. Made 3-4 blood bags from him. he died. ;_; 5. Found a group of survivors being attacked by zombies. Pretended to help kill the zombies while "accidentally" shooting all of them in the head one by one. My aim sucks what can I say? 6. Had someone with broken legs crawl up to me asking if I had any morphine. I did but wasn't in the mood to share. 7. Forced a group of three newspawns to strip naked and dance sexy for me! (I blame GTA for this one...) 8. Made this thread because I am a attention whore. So I have made a conclusion about my playstyle in dayz. Pretty sure that I am the reason people KOS and that the dayz mods will probably ban me for this sh*t... ;_;

There are already a lot of ways to troll a handcuffed player such as... 1. Forcing them to eat/drink poison like cleaner or rotten food. 2. Giving them a blood transfusion....with the wrong blood type. 3. If they have the right blood type you can stock up on blood bags...at their expense. 4. Taking all their clothes and turning it intro rags. 5. Breaking their legs then dropping morphine far away (or not dropping any at all). So I don't think we need anymore ways to grief. But the ability to store items up your ass like the gold watch from pulp fiction? ...Well....Hmmmmm. Gotta think about this one. Sure, why not. But it should have a downside. Maybe not being able to sprint due to large amounts of butt pain.

I don't mind fast zombies but they can't be like the zombies we had in the mod that zig zagged everywhere and spazzed out in a glitchy animation that made it difficult to shoot them. Also the zombies even if they get a speed buff I think they should run a little slower then us. They lack coordination so it would make sense that they might not be good runners. In the standalone if one was chasing you and close to you. It was impossible to turn around and shoot/hit him without being hit yourself since they ran 3x faster then us. Only way to lose them was to run inside or go up a steep hill, and if there none nearby...good luck. Hiding in a pine tree only does so much good.

I see a big problem with this. What if someone makes a character like a packmule. Keeping gear on him so that when one of his characters dies he can log onto that one. Then he makes another packmule. (probably by server hopping).

Maybe for certain clothing items it would make sense. Items like don't give you a advantage you can spawn with even when you die (like sunglasses). That would be fine but flat out giving the option for no perma death. Ruins the feel of dayz. Takes the risk out.

Resorting to petty insults? Can you at least give a reason why you hate this suggestion with a passion? Lets be civil here. That comment you just wrote didn't really tell me anything about your opinion.

Good ideal. The timer has been suggested many times but the animation is clever. It will let you know when someone is logging out so you can shoot them they try. Thus preventing people from combat logging when you are holding them. Beans for you good sir.

Numbered so I can address each. 1. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE between the suggestion and the current system is that you won't be holding the W button. Its not a feature where you can tell your character where to go and he goes there. Only noobs and fools are going to set their character to auto-run then go afk. If they do that its likely they will get shot, or run into a object, or get mauled zombies, or have their character die of hunger/thirst. Most players are going still going to have their eyes glued to their screen. Watching for threats and looking for loot. 2. I don't see how holding the W key makes me focus more on the game. I often look elsewhere while holding the w key. I asked my two friends that play dayz if they hold pay full attention and both of them said they often look elsewhere. Holding down a button does not add to immersion or make you focus more. Also NO ONE is going to force you to use autorun. IF you don't want to use autorun...THEN DON'T. But don't have a problem with the people that do. 3. Speak for yourself. Just because you don't have any issues while playing doesn't mean other people don't. My finger has hurt from time to time due to constantly pressing/holding w. Also a video game shouldn't force you to take "finger resting breaks". I play a lot of video games and most don't make my finger hurt. Overall I don't see why people seem to hate the suggestion. No one is going to force you to autorun, if you think it breaks immersion or that it takes some fun from the game. DON'T USE IT. Also its just a tool to keep your character running forward. He is not going to heading off towards towns on his own. Players are going to need to jump in once and a while to steer him away from a tree and such. Also this is the ALPHA of the standalone. Wouldn't this be the right time to test a autorun feature out? If it doesn't work they can remove it easy. Oh and on a last note. "Back in my day we held that W key for hours, and we liked it."-Ymath. Okay then. Don't use the autorun feature if they add it. Also I am rather confused by how you LIKED holding w. I can understand not caring but liking it. Yeesh easily amused I guess. :P (Also what time does "back in the day" refer to?")

People are overeacting. Holding the button down does not add to the experiance or help immersion. It takes stress off your finger. Also it won't make dayz a game that runs itself. Its just running. Its not shooting or eating. Also only fools will go afk. THey will run into a tree or something and have to move their character.

Bump. DEAR GOD WE NEED THIS. In the mod i exploited the steam overlay glitch but the standalone is hell on my middle finger...

Going to need a pretty big bottle to fit a entire gas station in there. Explosion will be pretty though! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Personally I think dayz is fine the way it is. THis seems like it will just lag a lot. MMO's are REALLY high mantience on the devs. (That is why a lot of them have subscription fee's.)

He wrote it badly. I think what he means is a device to catch the water in the air. I made one in science class with a plastic tarp. Its possible but I don't think it will work in dayz. It will be easier to go to a fountain and drink from that. The science behind it is that you make a device to capture the steam. The steam turns back into water and you have some fresh water to drink.

You could probably break a can open by smashing it on a rock or just throwing it on some hard ground (like a road). You would lose a lot of the contents but better then starving.

Bounty's would be interesting but I don't think it should be a automatically updating list. What if that top person was a bandit hunter with a high kill count? There is no humanity in the game so the AI wouldn't be able to tell. I would have it so you can post bounty's as like fliers on walls and telephone post. They offer loot the person who put the bounty up hid somewhere. When the bounty is complete the player is automatically told where the loot is. Yes its unrealistic but dayz is still a game. And if you compare ANY game to real life its unrealistic. Fun before realism.

I think he is addict. He got banned TWICE. But keeps hacking. Its like drugs man. Even after getting caught they keep doing it. ' BTW if you read this. Welcome to the standalone. Where hackers get banned...a lot.

Alpha. I highly doubt they would add a bayonet just for looks. Hopefully we will be able to mount the bayonet on more then just the mosin.

They might be combat logging. Though i doubt everyone you kill combat logged. Probably just a glitch.

Hey I am going to be buying standalone this Christmas but just to be sure if its worth it can anyone answer the following questions that concern me? 1. Are the hackers gone or at least very much reduced? I would hate to buy standalone and then find a bunch of script kiddies running around... Whats is the situation with hacks? Same? Better? Worst? If only half of the hackers are gone I will be satisfied. 2. Glitches. Its alpha I know there are going to be a LOT LOT LOT of glitches. But is at least a little better then standalone? Or the same? Or is it worst. (this question is of the least concern. I am buying fully expecting a bug ridden mess. But to me that is part of the fun. Still knowing the overall stability to the standalone will help.) 3. Community. Is it still KOS 24/7 or has it gotten better? Is cherno and elektro still crawling with snipers? Do people still whine and scream into side chat as much (if there is a side chat). 4. What are the MAJOR changes? Going into standalone what should I expect to see that is different? If you answer these questions THANK YOU very much. I know no one forced you to do it and I apprentice the fact that you took time to help a fellow dayz mod player. Merry Christmas.
