I have never encountered hackers in the standalone. I have seen very few videos with definite proof. Also I don't like ban waves. I say just ban em as you see em. Ban waves can result in mistakes. Also I think a topic just ask if a ban wave is coming is a bit unnecessary. Remember its the alpha so the antihack hasn't been fleshed out yet. Though I have been seeing a lot of hackers whining on their hacker forums about being banned. So the battle eye+ VAC is already doing better then the mod.

Alight, here is what you got to do op. 1. Go to steam. 2. Check your library to see if any of the Arma games are in there. 3. If you don't have any Arma games go buy one. 4. Play that and never bother us again. INBOUND FOR THE YAAAAARRRRRRRRRD.

Glitch. 1. its pretty much impossible for those kinds of hacks to work in standalone. 2. If a hacker took control of you he wouldn't just bob your head around a bit.

You focused on one sentence. The sniper comment was just a minor thing I brought up. I was mainly talking about how it would take away from tactics by letting you just whip out a sniper when a long range firefight starts.

Alright. Why not. Lets not add to much to dayz though otherwise our inventory space will be unlimited. But hey I think this could work in dayz, maybe it could take the tactical vest slot. It would be better then a holster but worst then a tactical vest.

I prefer only 1 primary. Remember there are no dedicated snipers in dayz. Just take the scope off your mosin and it works fine. I think letting you carry two guns would be a little too much as it might encourage the hill snipers since they don't need to worry about being flanked as much. Also it takes something out of gunfights. I have a shotgun, he has a sniper *sortev*. It can be to my advantage or disadvantage and forces me to use my head. If I can just whip out a sniper myself and kill him instead of having to flank or dash from cover to cover then it takes something away from the game for me.

No giant snipers. NO GIANT MACHINE GUNS. No silent, semi automatic sniper rifles. Dayz is about survival. Slugging amount a m60 is a bit much. Also silenced sniper rifles are just asking for trouble from wanna be sniper elites.

They are really important. IF you play on hardcore servers binonocks are key for watching a area.

Why does everyone say first person gives them headaches? Is it the FOV or did they forget you can turn off the head bob...

I was a hostage because I was offered some supplies, the person giving me the supplies got shot and then a second person came up from behind and knocked me out *I had no gear btw*. 2. You don't need to be stupid to get taken hostage. I know its easy to think you are super pro and no one will ever sneak up on you. But sometimes people sneak up on you. If you hear a voice saying not to turn around because they have a gun at your head, its smart to listen. And don't try to combat log, they have a log out animation now. You sound like one of those guys who snipes in sniper hill thinking they are a elite spetznaz sniper or something like that. 3. LOL, if you cant hit someone because they are sprinting then you are the stupid one... 4. People take fresh spawns hostage because they are dicks. They think its funny. 5. I would make a comment about how KOS is boreing and you get better gear when you hold people up but I know you won't listen. Overall I think you lack social graces. The game keeps spawning me on the coast a lot. Its getting annoying. Can someone please tell me what the hives are. I know about hardcore and regular but when i left a hardcore server and then joined another. All my gear was gone and i spawned on the coast and it took me almost a hour (thanks to that stupid timer they added in.) to find which server i had left to get my geared character . It was a hardcore server too so I am wondering why it had a different hives from the other hardcore servers when it said public. That all happened yesterday. Today I logged on again, got into my character. Everything was fine. Held someone up, he combat logged. Worried he might ghost behind me like many people that get held up do I decided to change servers. IT HAPPENED AGAIN. This time I forgot which server I was on and couldn't get him back. Also don't say character reset because my other character on the public servers was fine...

Thanks for the post. I found my gear again. They need to label the hives better. It can be frustrating for someone who hasn't dealt with the standalone hives before.

Complains about being killed on sight....says to kill on sight. YOU ARE THE REASON KOS HAPPENS. You died because you made a mistake. Here is a list. 1. You walked up to two people with guns without even knowing them. Don't do that. Try to get them to drop their weapons. IF you are want to socialize with random people make sure everyone keeps their gun holstered. 2. You turned your back on them, don't turn your back on someone who has a gun until you are sure its safe. 3. You said you gave newspawns m4 and tactical vest. I doubt this a lot. You say you know where to get more...server hopper? Lets not get into it. Arming new spawns is a bad ideal, they are under-geared and want to gear up as fast as possible. When I see a friendly with a gun I have to avoid to the temptation to knock him out and loot him. Trust me. AS you said. You are new to dayz. I am sure you will learn the proper ways to be friendly. Depends on the clothing. But yes even a simple shirt offers some protection. IF someone shoots you it probably won't do anything but it can help a small bit. A helmet protects you. I got shot in the head while wearing a ballistic helmet and lived to tell the tale. Also I believe the press vest has some bulletproofness to to it.

Normally I just ignore them and if they shoot me I don't care since I have nothing to lose. But when they restrain you its annoying as fuck. They are waste of my time and I just want to get on with the game, its not funny and I wish there was a option to bang my head on the concrete and suicide when someone does this...

There are a lot of sounds in dayz. If you go into electro and listen you will hear the sounds of gunshots, players trying to be friendly, zombie argo, all sorts of things. But I think it would be interesting if you could hear screams of pain or death maybe. If someone gets shot or their hand gets hatched off its likely they are going to make some noise. Here are some ways this could help the game. 1. A scream of pain lets you know someone is wounded nearby. Gives you a chance to help or take advantage of them depending on your play-style. Maybe they are already dead by the time you arrive. 2. More immersion. Reminds you the world is filled with more people then you that live and die on a daily basis in the terribly brutal world of dayz. 3. I am sure bandits will find some sick use for this. Maybe putting a hostage in pain in the hopes of luring someone out. 4. Helps you know if you hit someone with your gunshot or not. You could hear his character grunt in pain if you hit him. Now obviously I am not only taking about full on screams of agony. A simple grunt of pain when you get shot will also do. Maybe even nothing at all, if someone gets shot all of a sudden they might just go into shock and not notice the pain for a while. Insert your constructive criticism or counter suggestions bellow.

He wouldn't be screaming every five minutes only at the moment of injury. Also those noises were quiet and you only heard them if you were nearby. These noises you would hear atleast a block away.

Bumping this thread instead of making a new one. I really think they need to add this. Just held some bandit up. Was rather excited, its hard to sneak up on someone who is hunting players. He logged. I think we need maybe a ten second anamation of your character going to sleep. IF he has a backpack maybe he uses it as a pillow as a joke. IF he is handcuffed he shouldn't be allowed to log with his gear intact... Wheather people know it or not this is a major reason for kosing. Holding people up is just too risky since with a press of a button they can leave. (and they might ghost on another server and come back to kill you). Its really childish that peopleg get this attached to their gear.

Sounds interesting but it could lag. Still something better then a "YOU ARE DEAD" screen would be nice.

I think cars should be VERY rare but bicycles should be common. Also, I road my bike to and from school everyday for a while WITH a heavy backpack on it. I even went on a overnight outdoor trail on my bike once with a hiking backup on my back. You can easily ride a bike with a pack on you.
