Pistols lack stopping power in this game. Use them for zombies only but if you must defend from a axe murderer aim for the legs or the head. Head will get you a instant kill but if your aim isn't up for it then aiming for the legs will cripple him making him easy to finish off.

I like it. When i saw the title I thought the suggestion was going to be stupid but the ideal of giving a random survivor a gun with blanks is a good way to find out if he is going to betray you or not. I would love the reactions as the bandit thinks he is about to get a easy kill just to find his bullets do nothing!

It would help with one thing. Often its better to type then talk so they cant follow your voice. This way even typers can be heard.

This is more of a win but a fail for the other guy. I was driving my uaz and some Huey attacks me. The jerk is flying really low and at one point i see what looks like a ramp. *it was a barricade with a slope actually* the Huey guy lines up on the ramp. I pull a dukes of hazard and run off the ramp ramming into the Huey. :D I lost my uaz but they lost a Huey. The pilot and gunner went unconscious from the impact...They never woke up. I don't know what idiot was flying. Who fly's a Huey nearly touching ground and then hovers in the middle of the road. I know this sounds way too convenient but trust me its true.... There is some crazy sh*t in dayz.

Mercenaries in dayz....That actually sounds kinda awesome, are beans the official dayz currency? :P

No none player npcs that extend past zombies or the rare army Huey fly by. (A cargo plane that drops supplies would be cool to.)

I like the ideal of the loot piles (though I think the timer should only be 24 hours) but the bubble suggestion has been suggested many times. It could work but I have never got the bandit skin unless I wanted the bandit skin so I don't know how everyone manages to have so many accounts of self defense without the bandit hitting them at all.. (BACK IN MY DAY BANDITS COULD ACTUALLY AIM!)

I don't think you can fix the KOS problem really. It is not a game problem it is a people problem. I don't like the ideal of forcing teamwork (plus i doubt it will work, I bet people will be able to navigate though easy if they know what they are doing) however I do like the ideal of noise. That would make people think more about shooting. The zombies would not only endanger them but players could follow the zombies to find the player. My suggestion however is that ammo is way too common. I can unload a clip into someone and find another one easily enough. If ammo was much rarer then people would be much more picky about wasting bullets. Also the KOS problem is a bit random. I have been on servers when I can't get off the coast and on other servers I have heroes offering me blood transfusions. I find private hives are usually a little more friendly.

No player controlled zombies please. And dear god please no elite player controlled zombies. People would commit suicide so they could play as a zombie They would probably run around on the coast killing new spawns. (I would be probably be one of them. :blush: Don't temp me please. The urge to troll is strong in this game)

Its a game so he is not going to feel any real pain besides maybe some loss of pride. Now when those new keyboards that give you a electric shock every time you take damage come out then this will work. :P

Sounds good. But once people started doing it enough everyone would just double trap 24/7. Even when i am 99% positive a guy is dead i am shoot him one more time in the head to make sure he is not unconscious. It could work though. In my noobie years i was on the coast with nothing but a pistol and some jerk with a dmr shoots me. I get knocked out but the fool leaves his cover to loot me. I wake up when he is close and I unload my pistol clip into his head. So there would be fools out there who would fall for it.

The steam dayz is pretty glitchy. I used it and had a lot of problems. I would just use commander it is better anyway since steam dayz uses the arma server browser which isn't as good as the commander browser. Also, if you want to learn the basic controls then the play the arma tutorial since arma and dayz use the same controls.

I doubt rocket is going to pull a Call Of Duty on us and start charging us for map packs. It would also be utterly pointless because we are going to be able to make our own maps so why pay for new maps when you get get free player made ones. This is a horror movie cliche. Tell me how often you see people tripping over just from running. Not very often. The human body is actually very well coordinated. Unless you are a utter fool it is unlikely you will trip unless you run into something like a large branch. The ideal of zombies tripping is good there since they probably lost a lot of their coordination

The suggestion is actually getting better as people add to it. I wouldn't mind the ideal of a hardcore server with a two hour lockout. I would probably even play it on! Just keep it out of normal servers.

Watch it. All the zombies in the game have mike tyson DNA in them. I doubt punching them is safe.

Oh god please no. Seriously if I buy a game the game shouldn't tell me "You can't play for another hour". I pay money for it let me play it! Standalone is not going to be free. Also this will be bs because what if i spawn on the coast and got shot before finding a hatchet? I ONCE SPAWNED AND WAS OPENED FIRE UPON WITHIN TEN SECONDS! Imagine having to wait a hour after dieing within ten seconds of spawning.

Why cans? Why does everything have to be in a can? What about food in boxes? Like cereal
