  1. I have successfully played with a mate while on the same internet connection (ie. same WAN IP) without any problems or any modifications at all. Are you sure it isn't just a problem with one or a few servers? Hope you'll get it to work! B)

    Battleye Global Ban #e7bd

I can say for sure that some people get banned for no reason at all, but I cannot tell whether or not you deserve the ban or have simply fallen victim to the retarded people at BattleEye.
  3. I am aware of the difference, I usually just refer to the coyote backpack as a coyote, cause the cayote patrol pack is what you spawn with afaik and its uhm... 8 slots? I consider the cayote backpack quite common, at least I've come across one several times. I know people say they are hard to find, but for me I seem to find them quite often... hmm... We did btw have a succesful trade

Kicking of Players for Clan members

Any decent geek would say: If you use anything that's NOT a final version, never ever think about complaining. Simple as that. Period. You may kindly point out erros, but please stop whining. // Zap
  5. Hi! It might seem odd to ask this question here, but the thing is... I am looking for someone with PHP/MySQL skills who also plays DayZ - that is because I have an idea, a domain for the idea and a server to host it on. But I lag the before mentioned skills. The idea is to create a website with functionality from which the DayZ community can benefit, free of charge that is. If you might be the guy I am looking for please drop me a PM, do include a few lines about yourself. And last... I am 25, living in Denmark and my skills include Photoshop, HTML/CSS and finding my way round the linux terminal. - Zapador

    Looking for PHP/MySQL skills

Hmm, I thought about posting it under hobbies, but concluded that I weren't looking for cozy talk about a hobby. Sorry about that

Kicking of Players for Clan members

I am hoping for a quite freely distributed server network but with fully centralized control. Eg. anyone who sets up a server can name it and decide for a few settings like 3rd person, crosshair etc., but never under any circumstances or in any way have additional priveleges over a normal player, such as kicking someone. Any abuse of chat can simply be solved with the option of ignoring a specific person in the chat. In that case it is up to everyone to decide what they think is nasty language or racism, and what is not. Due to the nature of DayZ I think it is damaging to the freedom of the game to impose any language filter or to ban/kick anyone due to excessive swearing, racism etc. - the game allows to a great extent, more than I have seen before in any other game, players to exert natural human behavior and psychological principles. Since swearing and racism is part of everyday life, so should it be part of DayZ. I do not encourage racism or swearing, but I think the choice should be left to each individual. (Sidenote: someone originally f****** up when not making the server software available for Linux. In any case just linux would be fine, linux and windows potentially better, but ONLY windows is like....... i lag words.)
  9. It would be a tragedy if players ever were to highly treasure something that is not useful, but only looks cool. A game like DayZ doesn't deserve that. So I hope "epic skins" won't be the new thing to put on top of a survivors wishlist... If you think its a cool idea, go play League of Legends and buy all the skins you like ;)
  10. I get the camo cloting for NVG part, that might make sense. But why on earth are you willing to pay anything more than a penny for a coyote? They are so common in comparison. You can have mine :P

    Spawning in the wrong place?

Wish I could say the same. I traveled all the way from the south coast to north of Berezino, logged off to make some food... then logged back in and found myself on the south coast again :(

    Spawning in the wrong place?

It has happened to me twice. The first time I had no clue why it happened, but the second time... I tried to log on to a server and got stuck with the text Loading and I tabbed to windows to kill the process. I tried another server and got straight in, but my location was now in the south and not north of Berezino <_< I am not sure about the ALT + F4 thing that some people say has to do with this error - but it might be how it is executed. I always press Escape and then ALT + F4 whenever I don't want to play anymore, its a lot faster than waiting for the menus and the game lags a Quit button right from the ESC menu. So well... I am not exactly sure, apart from that it has happened twice now.
  13. Thanks! Might come in handy. Interestingly enough I more often find myself running out of food than any other thing, most likely cause I have forgotten Rifleman's Creed and focus so much on getting weapons and ammo that I completely forget that someone has to pull the trigger at some point if that ammo is to be of any use... My rifle without me is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. :D

    Six Updater doesn't list 1.7.2.5

He said it. Whoever is making that utility are brilliant people. I would gladly bring them a coyote full of beans, they deserve the props. Seriously well made tool.

    Can this pc run DayZ?

For reference I am playing on a laptop with -> i7 2670QM 2.2 GHz, GTX 560M 3 GB, 16 GB PC3-12800 and I have spend quite some time playing around with settings. Pretty much no matter what I do it will not run smooth (smooth as in 60+ fps at any given time), while it often is around 60 fps it also quite often drops much lower. An interesting thing is that the resolution seems to have literally no impact on fps. I have the EXACT same fps on 1920x1080 as on 1280x720. And yeah I think it should be fairly capable of running the game, but by no means expect to run it with any fancy settings turned on. Something along these lines should work well.. Set your resolution to your screens native, ie same as you run in Windows :-) Texture detail: Very high Video memory: Very high AF: High AA: Disabled ATOC: Grass (Or disabled) Terrain detail: Very low Objects detail: Very high (setting this to a low value may prevent you from seeing people at long distances) Shadow detail: Normal HDR quality: Normal PPAA: Disabled Postprocess effects: Disabled (never consider turning it on...) These settings will make your game look like this: http://zapador.org/_z/dayz/caps/settings1.png http://zapador.org/_z/dayz/caps/settings2.png
  16. Feel sorry for ya man, but you can have my beans.
  17. What should be the difference? When updating through DayZ it basically download the patch and run it, alternative is that your browser downloads the patch and you run it manually.
  18. I so agree. I read the topic line and thought it was a joke - but it appears not. WHAT on earth are you guys thinking about? Controller < Mouse/keyb for FPS. Period.
  19. I think imma agree with Velox. About an hour ago I experienced an issue where I suddenly spawn at the south coast, with my gear and stats intact though, but hell of long way from where I were. I went to the forums and a few other people have had the same problem, some suggest it is due to problems with later Arma II revisions. If that is the case - do what Velox says and don't update unless needed - that's what I'm going to do in the future.
  20. I've just experienced this issue with Arma II rev 96015. Was travelling north of Berezino trying to get further north, decided I wanted some pizza so I logged out. Five minutes later I come back and log back in, to another server, and it stalls at the loading screen. So I killed the process and found another server... just to find myself spawning at the south coast... My items and stats are untouched, but my location... buhuuuu..... :( Added info: A week ago or so my friend and I logged out next to each other and called it a day. When I logged back in the next day, after a completely normal exit/logout and no loading-screen probs etc., I found myself at the south coast. I didn't bother much at that point cause it was a 10 min run from where I logged out. Sadly I'm unsure about version, but I can say for sure it was before 1.7.2.5 - but no clue on the Arma rev.
