I KNOW you're an exploiter if you disagree

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. -
Better yet' date=' will dead bodies actually stay were they are for more than 10 seconds? Sometimes its fine, other times it not. [/quote'] This. I thought the 'Flies' without bodies was a bug that had nothing to do with an actual dead player but I died in Komarovo and tried to retrieve my stuff a few minutes later and all I found in the place was the fly noise and nothing else. Yes, yesterday I investigated flies on 10 occasions and never found a single body. Does Rocket know about this bug?
-
Yes, it is unbalanced right now but I think Rocket knows that. There are bugs where zombies can see you through terrain and audibility is too high which are being fixed in the next patch: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=16925

Turning off Six Updater fixed this for me -
Screen freezes every 30~ seconds

I get this too. I think this is a problem with the latest Dayz Alpha version and/or the latest ArmaII beta because I never used to get it. -
DO NOT POST YOUR GLOBAL BAN APPEALS
Phenotype (DayZ) replied to rocket's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Funny how almost without exception the people who have been "unfairly banned" also come across as complete assholes. -
20 words or less: Super-Low Humanity Detection

YES Isn't realistic, but it substitutes for other mechanisms which exist in real life. Also, I think it sounds like an atmospheric game mechanic. -

YES But in a future release make it possible to sneak up behind zombies and wack them with a melee weapon. -

WTF is happening to the server community.
Phenotype (DayZ) replied to Koot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think things will be massively improved by removing global chat and fixing ingame VOIP so that it works, and can only be heard by people nearby. If I can say "Get on the floor and drop your weapon" and have a chance of it actually being listened to, then I am much less likely to shoot someone. -
We've noticed this in our group. Seems to us like framerates and/or latency is a factor.

Put Bandages Back On Mouse Wheel Please
Phenotype (DayZ) replied to destiny0ne's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think things are fine as they are. It should be hard/nerve wracking to bandage yourself when zombies are incoming - I like it! -
Dayz is not the real world. One major difference is that it is very difficult to identify and remember players, unlike the real world. In the real world, you can spot your friends from half a mile away, just by the way they hold their body and move around. In real life, you can remember a face for years just from a single encounter. In real life you can warn people to look out for someone by describing them "he's about 6" tall, thin, has long hair and a beard". You can't do this in Dayz. In Dayz, you can switch between servers and/or change your name to remain anonymous. This means that in Dayz, the downside of asocial behaviour (being shunned or even hunted down by other humans) do not apply. It is perfectly reasonable to want to discuss ways to address this problem, if only for realism's sake.

Bandits don't get punished, Survivors do...
Phenotype (DayZ) replied to leblackdragon's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The fundamental problem is that in real life it's easy to recognise people (we're evolved to remember faces). If you become a bandit, people would soon pass on the information and a description of you and you would be shot on site by anyone who saw you before you saw them. It's hard to replicate this exactly in a game. So I think it is fair enough to have some sort of visual clue to indicate when someone is a bandit.
