Duck you all to bell you worthless quacks.
Sinoby replied to khalim's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Darn OP, you just forced me to kill unarmed players, all their blood is on your hands... On a serious note though - if some2 doesn't have weapon in their hands, it doesn't mean he doesn't have an axe on the belt or gun in the backpack. If I think that you might have seen me - you are DEAD. -
This is NOT a zombie game...
Sinoby replied to Gareth_Sims (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So, what fixes to AI will make them challenging? Sorry, I don't see any since in your suggestion, let's say you get their movement issues fixed, so they move in predictable straight line and do it slower how does that increase difficulty? I'd say you should make them die only to HS, and then you fix their movement. Otherwise the game will be too easy. -
Why should I be playing this mod furthermore..
Sinoby replied to camperJM's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Exactly my thoughts :) I mean, if you were bored from the beginning why will you be playing it for so long. One doesn't expect an end-game from a alpha-stage sandbox game mod, which wasn't intended as a game but more like an experiment. It's a sandbox - set your goals higher like controlling an area or building a huge camp... Or even better - give it a break, wait for standalone and see what's there -
I've played only on one server since patch, but didn't see fog being too sick. I did have post-processing turned off though.

Considering Z speed/trajectories, weapon nerf is silly
Sinoby replied to davidecibel's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
AKM all the way for me now. Might s well equip mil.flashlight instead of sidearm - it is more useful -
I do - adds more fun and the game is more tense this way.
-
Im pretty sure I've been dropping Zeds yesteday with 1 shot from AKM, but over all nerf is kinda bad. I understand that it's patch for Arma, but now in dayZ ammount of bullets from small caliber weapons required to drop a player is just insane...

Limiting 1 Character per Server to Prevent Server Hopping?
Sinoby replied to Masi_23's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've thinking about it for a long time. It will not only stop server hopping, but will allow to develope some type of comunity - if you kill a person you will not be able to jump to other server and have no problems with that. People will start to recognise each other later on and it will be a bit different to what we have right now. But for all that to work we need 1) bigger servers 2) stable servers 3) more ways to customize looks of your character. -
Come on Rocket, you can do better than that....
Sinoby replied to Sputnik (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think it's not Rocket's changes, since the issue appeared after AO patch. -
I don't see anything, that we as players and admins can do right now. There is a log parser, that should detect hackers in servers sub forum, not sure how effective is it though. It is up to BI and BE to fight those pricks right now. I hope that later on we will have more customizable servers with server specific characters, then we will be able to start forming servet-side communities.

You did suggest to ban everyone, who is not trusted member of your community. That results in private server pretty much. You can't do that. Your idea does not fit this game, the way it is designed.
-
Again, you have no right to ban other players for nothing. Go check server hosting rules. It will result in your server being blacklisted. I do see your point though, but the problem here is the fact, that having the server for only your friends will provide you An unfair advantage. If characters would be server specific I would agree with this method though

Wasn't dayz supposed to get updated yesterday?
Sinoby replied to Slyguy65's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It wasn't updated. :) Rocket said it will be either 25th-26th or 30th of July. -
The problem is - admin can't just ban people on the hive level. And banning people from the server will do nothing to stop the hacker from going to another server and launching his scripts again. And how would YOU like to get banned after being killed by a hacker (if it would be possible)

put log out timer and make guns do less damage to players
Sinoby replied to slugsmoneygirls's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
First off, I didn't say about dayz becoming esport, I said from esport point of view - it is considered that landing more shots requires better skills in guncontrol, and it gives a guy, that has been jumped on a chance to fight back. Cod4 was pretty competitive btw, later parts just suck. Bf3 isn't best bf game either exactly because of random cone. But my point still stands - this game requires different skill set - playing smart, planning your movement, team coordination and others. It is different, and people like it for being different. These players don't go to cod forums and ask them to make the game realistic, and they expect others to do the same towards Arms. Btw, rocket is considering addition of body armor later on. -

Sinoby replied to slugsmoneygirls's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
OK, I do understand your point, Slugsmoneygirls. You want this to bе a more fair playing ground from e-sports point of view. I do like BF and some COD games for them being balanced for competition, where player has to control recoil of his gone to land enough hits for kill. The thing is - it doesn't fit in Arma+DayZ. Lots of people play this game for realistic experience - if you made a mistake and got caught off guard - well, bad for you. You've made a mistake, play smarter next time. These huge part of players don't want any changes to realism. I would want this game to become even harder and a bit more realistic - more infections from wounds, broken bones resulting in limping after some treatment etc. -

Sinoby replied to slugsmoneygirls's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I don't agree with OP but want to point out that a) 9k is not 2/3 of 12k B) 12k doesn't represent all your blood in game, it is some number which represents am mount of blood that should be lost, before you die. Just try to keep logical, if you want to talk about realism. Anyway, op's ideas are terrible. The only kinda worth any talking about is logout timer, but it is being implemented, along with some technical to stop server hopping and alt-f4. So, really, nothing new here -
in the past two hours.. 4 hackers.
Sinoby replied to brady0630's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So how about you try to post whole story and not some useless crap? Post a video, try to get that kiddie banned, talk to server admin. It is alpha, you are testing it, you should try to find and isolate problems. And your behavior doesn't help at all. And personal attacks against other posters will not help either. -
I don't see a problem here - he stays in one area, if others can't team up and get him they don't deserve the loot. It is better than camping in the tree line for free kills. Like someone said before me - whatever floats your boat.

Loot map.... Do you think its more fun with or without it?
Sinoby replied to -MadTommy's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've started without loot map, it took several days to memorise what buildings are enter able, where hospitals are, where general stores, etc. But it was fun finding military camp in berezino, since I was surprised. I did checked loot tables later, but found nothing new. IMO loot maps kill some important part of the game - exploration, in-game map is ok. -
There is enough supplies, you have to know, where to look for them. It takes some time to understand though. This mod is not too friendly for newcomers. Zombies between towns might be fun, if the would be random spawns.

M14 is nice, I'd go with it
-
I for one, like the idea of armor. I've been thinking about it a while ago, but never posted. Ofc it should result in slower running speed and faster water/food level decrease, but that will add a nice new military grade item.

My honest opinion of Day Z (And message to the creator)
Sinoby replied to d4rk51d3x's topic in New Player Discussion
OP is just trolling guys, there is no way a person can be such a retard. He is posting just to provoke others so let's just stop responding. This thread really doesn't deserve any attention. -

Sinoby replied to d4rk51d3x's topic in New Player Discussion
If you die - that's your fault. People have tendency to blame others for their own mistakes. Dayz is a sandbox game, people choose their own playstyle - one may focus on survival, other one on hunting survivors and yet another one on hunting other bandits. If you choose survival, and die to other player - you have failed in your game. Start over, play smart, be careful, learn the game and you will get better. Or one can go to forums and whine like a little girl, but that will not make you better player, will not make others to stop killing you. It will do the opposite - PKers will want to kill you even more, since it hurts you.
