    why good samiritans irritate me

You are telling people to not come running to the forums to complain because they encountered something they didn't like in-game in the quoted post. In the original post for this thread, you are complaining because you encountered something you didn't like in-game. That sure seems like hypocrisy.

    why good samiritans irritate me

Posted by Macdeth on Today, 06:57 AM stay away from the coast unless you are actively seeking pvp encounters and don't come running to the forums, cheeks still moist with the confused tears of an idiot to bitch about how stupid you've been.

    why good samiritans irritate me

... The "action" in question is the original post you made here. What you're "in denial about" is your "hypocrisy in making said post" The claim of hypocrisy comes from the fact that you're complaining about the playstyle of people whom you apparently believe unanimously complain about the "KOS Playstyle". All of that was a pretty simple read.

    why good samiritans irritate me

I disagree. His stated opinion and the way he's been dealing with those who disagree seem rather incensed towards starting a "flame-war" rather than having any actual discourse on the topic. *In addition Edit* All of Macdeth's recent posts fall very well into the picture painted of him by Aeoliana. Coincidence? OR ARE THEY THE SAME PERSON? Discuss.

So ya food and hunger is pretty messed up.

What about being able to sprint for miles? Or knowing how to operate firearms without any (apparent) formal training? Or being able to fit a whole can of beans into a pocket? Or the existence of "zombies"? Some things in this game require suspension of disbelief. Suspend it! SUSPEEEEND

    why good samiritans irritate me

I understand being annoyed at people who engage in acts of would-be heroism, play poorly, and come on the forums to complain about it. But really, your original post doesn't mention all of that. It just gives a pseudo-analysis of "hero" players and then turns around and decries the idea of labeling players based on their actions. Also, on your assertion that "styles of play don't need labels". It's pretty common for the mind to assign labels to things, it's how the brain has operated since before we had writing and language (in fact it's how language came to be). Not wanting to be labeled is silly. Also, I want to address the assertion that Altruism doesn't exist: Yes, doing good things makes you feel good. But why? Maybe it's not some form of feeling superior to everyone around you or some ultimate patronization (May not even be a word) but rather because feeling good about doing something for others is a trait that definitely would benefit a largely social species? As such, even the good feeling is beneficial to others, because it makes it more likely that you will do things for others. Anyway, back on topic. If your original reasoning for posting this topic is because of people complaining about the KOS playstyle after their acts of charity go poorly, you should recognize the hypocrisy in criticizing their playstyle in a post on the forums. If your original reasoning is simply because you don't understand the benefits of doing nice things for other people? They do it because it's 1. Something to do in a game that lacks things to do. 2. Gets their warm-and-fuzzies going.

Kill on sight - newb advice

To quote a Major General Be Professional. Be Polite. But have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
  9. dekartz

Read first before you complain about other players

I personally believe KOS is far less interesting of a play-style. But that's my personal opinion. If you're going to kill someone, I think it's a lot funnier to cuff people and steal their blood/give them stolen blood. It's kind of like a blood-type roulette. If they get a compatible type? They live. If they don't? They die. And as far as I'm concerned, I didn't kill them, chance did. Or to cuff them and force feed them rotten fruit. But that's only if they're an asshole. Just shooting someone? What am I? A barbarian?

This Is To Help Companies That Rent Out Servers To Players.

    1. More people renting servers doesn't benefit Bohemia. It benefits companies renting out servers. 2. The game itself isn't doing too shabby on its own merits. 3. This will probably happen with Private Hives. 4. Hopefully Private Hives will be a thing long long long after this game exits Beta.

To the server hoppers in NE Airfield.

You sure showed those server hoppers. With your server hopping and combat logging. Way to stick it to the man!

    Bambi's Knocking Out Geared Players.

Know how to 'balance' this? Broken hands/wrists. You hit someone hard enough to knock them out when they're wearing a helmet/gasmask/whatever? With your bare hand? You're probably going to feel that shit.

    DEANS serverpolicy - PURE stupidity

Because the policy of "I don't like this, thus I will fight you" is usually a poor one, and in the case of computer games, a fucking pathetic one.

    Why Was Music Removed?

I do believe that Rocket talks about why they didn't bring back the music in one of his livestreams.

    Losing interest by design.

... So wait. So you think things should be handed to you? Because you paid for the game? Or did you have this insane misconception that a game that is clearly labeled as an Alpha and IMPLORES you not to buy it unless you're willing to be part of the testing process is going to be stable?

    DEANS serverpolicy - PURE stupidity

But regardless, there ARE rules that you'd have to follow. The point that was being made.
  17. As it stands, items (and zombies) don't respawn because of the strain on the server. I have a pretty basic idea to solve this (at least on the item side). Basically: Keep things close to the way they are, with items only reliably respawning on server-restart. However, when an item leaves the game world by being consumed and/or destroyed, another item randomly spawns in some empty loot-spot. So for example: Someone eats a can of beans they found in elektro. Some similar item (canned food) respawns in an empty loot-spawn in cherno. At least as a temporary work-around it makes sense as it allows a server's performance to remain somewhat 'stable' (in the sense that it doesn't have to handle umpteen items because people are hoarding. Ways to refine this may be to make it apply only to items looted and consumed prior to a restart (IE: you couldn't eat a bunch of food right after a restart to make lootspawns better). Weapons and such aren't likely to respawn simply because it's rare that you fully "consume" a weapon. (Until you can find them in conditions other than pristine at least) I'm sure there are a multitude of technological limitations to this idea but I thought I'd field it anyway.

I suggest a "Just because you pay for" thread.

A potential fix for item respawns

The same reason anyone comes up with a temporary fix. To keep people happy until an actual fix is available.

    DEANS serverpolicy - PURE stupidity

Since when was Dallas a mod? Or were you talking about the mod who was telling him to stop joking about real life violence? Also, no one is forcing you to rent a server. If you don't want to abide by the rules set by the person who created the game (thus the one who holds precedence in decisions relating to said game), then don't rent and/or buy a server for it?

    The svetloyarsk community

Season 1 didn't really leave off in a state that gave the following seasons much of an opening to do anything. That said, I've thoroughly enjoyed Walking Dead.

Allow Iv Bag Use On Yourself

Actually, blood/saline bagging one's self would be immensely difficult considering you'd have to essentially do it one-handed in a non-sterile environment. Not to mention: Do you know how hard it is to find a vein from an outward perspective? Much less your own? Pretty damn hard. I'm sure your friend could plug an IV line into himself/herself in a well-lit sterile hospital. But when you're already suffering from blood-loss (the only reason you'd be giving yourself an IV), probably exhausted (from getting damn-near anywhere in chernarus), and possibly suffering from a gunshot wound you merely bandaged, shit, keeping the needle clean is a whole different story.

We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.

The same guy named Rocket, who has previously stated that said skins won't be in Standalone and that he didn't like them in the Mod. Also, if I recall correctly (admittedly I may not) it's when Rocket decided to focus his efforts on Standalone that the skins were snuck back in. After he'd taken them out. Deliberately.

We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.

The amount of hours I have (upwards of a couple hundred in the mod, probably less in SA) is irrelevant to the point. Instead of doing your due diligence and learning whether or not the person you're going to shoot is deserving of being shot, you want a system in game to tell you that "this person is bad" and "this person is good". Sounds lazy to me.
