What does the SOUND SOURCES options in the settings do?
Etherious replied to randmanq's topic in General Discussion
It determines the maximal number of sounds that the game can play at the same time within that session. Also, it used to make a difference years ago but it shouldn't matter unless your audio card/chip is dinosaur old. xD So, just put it to the maximum of 128. -
I shoot like this. xD

Can a Macbook pro run on Dayz Standalone?
Etherious replied to Bernie_101's topic in General Discussion
No, even if it's a 64-Bit OS it still won't use more than 2047 Mb's. That's what the engine is designed to use when used in conjunction with the command starter. -
You can also paint the Blaze 95 Double Rifle.

ALT-Tabbing while in the middle of town trying to read up on a newly released manga....and expecting to live...yea no. >.<

His RAM is fine. DayZ only uses max of 2047 MBs. A MAC is a computer boy. Stop being ignorant, thanks! -

Etherious replied to Bernie_101's topic in General Discussion
It's not designed for MAC, but you could run it by using a boot camp or whatever they call it. xD -
True on that and also the delay part is due to desync or lag too. :3

Hey...they aren't that bad. ;-; -
(Example) Skip to 2:40 and he accidently does the appopriate thing to open the door without using the [ ] keys. (He looks at the door handle) Also, this is the same system in Arma 2 and even back in Cold War Crisis. (Still a ewww type of system to open a door/gate.)
-
I wouldn't say worse, the ArmA 2 door system is way less glitchy. Also, I will have to play ArmA 2 again later then to check out the doors and gates.

Time acceleration- how does it work, server side?
Etherious replied to real meatshield's topic in General Discussion
I need to find out the article where it explains it but I'm busy, anyways I think the way it works is lets say you want it to be 5-6 ahead then put the accelerator at 5-6. It adds that many hours to the time, although I do not trust myself with that answer. I will look for the correct article for you. -
In ArmA yes it works like that, DayZ Standalone it's like a RNG. (Not literally) xD They generally use the same system but it just isn't implemented correctly. Due to it being Alpha of course. B)
-
The way ArmA and TOH handles opening/closing doors is by making it realistic to real life...you look at the handle of door/gate and then click the use function. :P Not quite understanding how that is hard. xD Although gates...they're bugged as hell. >.>

Clips in protector cases being duplicated in inventory when reloading.
Etherious replied to DayZ_Friendly's topic in General Discussion
Actually you can search a bug by a certain word, and if it's not found then just make your own for the Devs to look at and see if it's necessary to fix. (Obviously it is) -
Dude, that has been there since Arma 2 Chernarus was first shown. It's not a airstrip. xD

If you want to know if this is already known bug, then use the search function on the forums and on the Feedback Bug Tracker. -
Yes on official, although no word on for unofficial servers. I'ma check on my server, right now. Not fully implemented yet.
-
It was seen to be on even the stable patch on hardcore servers being hosted from official servers.
-
Even though they fixed the loot (Hurray!), it seems they still need to tone it down a little on the rarity of stuff. xD
-
I have only heard that it works on Hardcore, what about regular? And lol seems they did the sneaky hotfix on their own servers. xD

The feasibility of a dynamically altered Chernarus map[DISCUSSION]
Etherious replied to Pokerguy12's topic in General Discussion
While that is a great idea, I honestly think that we should not try to change the map WAY too much. While it is a fairly decently big map, we can't go adding in too much to it. Because to me I think if we add too much, we will destroy the survival aspect of it. (Of course that depends on the wanted changes) :D -
Windows 8.1 here and no problems what-so-ever. ^-^ Also, no increase either. >.>
