Hey, was just wondering what's your favourite combination of weapons in this game? Here's mine: M249 (found in a tent near Stary) - this thing is a beast personal defence weapon. Can shoot faster than the Mk 48 Mod and has more bullets per clip. Much prefer it over the L85 just because of the sheer damage it can unleash in a short amount of time. Can also take STANAGs if you're running low on ammo. Perfect gun for hijacking vehicles, especially bicycles, motorbikes, ATVs (I suppose it would be quite useful against a chopper too) AS50 (found in a chopper crash site) - the mother of all snipers. This is the gun were I attempt to make 1000m kills (and sometimes succeed). Can stop a car in one shot and the bullet time isn't too bad even from extreme distances. You will need a rangefinder to get rough estimates of range for the long shots though. Revolver - my zombie killing gun. The ammo is quite common so I dont have to hit deadly areas just for pistol ammo. Has a nice amount of range and a decent iron sight so you don't have to get up close and personal with the zeds.

my favourite combo as of now (since working with a large group) is: L85 AWS - spotting SVD Camo - sexy, can stay hidden DMR - night time sniping M9 SD or PDW - M9 is my silenced weapon or occassionally enjoy unloading a mag of PDW into a group of zombies. any thoughts or changes of mind that you guys have had?

the kids on ANZ 1 just banned me for talking to people in side chat. Never knew these people are that retarded that they don't know how to mute

can somebody please straighten out the admins on ANZ 1?

I'm still banned from ANZ 1, simply because people don't know how to turn down in-game voip in settings. This is sad and I don't understand

one thing this game doesn't need to bring back is freshly spawned noobs running around shooting half-decent people in the face the game has enough trust issues as it is

Hey, my friend got ip banned from the SoS server for stealing a chopper from their base (which they shot down). He snuck into their base in the early hours of the morning while there was nobody there. The base is on the west edge of the map.

hmm just throwing this out there - maybe I should have posted this in server reporting because the clan owners of that server have been doing a lot of duping and admin hacking (40 mountain dews anyone?). I'm not sure if my friend has screenshots - I'm just passing on the message. Go on there to see for yourself if you don't believe me

no offence but no. This game should remain slanted towards 28 days later rather than Resident Evil. I reckon the NPC thing should be like a *SPOILER* half infected radio soldier that is paranoid and turns into a zombie while broadcasting edit: and this should happen only about once per server restart (maybe there could be multiple scenarios to keep it interesting)

so I lost my previous gear mentioned in this thread Am now using L85 M4A1 CCO SD M9 SD and it feels pretty sexy edit: Let's face it - the reason why I liked the M249 over L85 is holding down the trigger and shooting in 100 bullet bursts but L85 is the more sensible weapon of the two.

thirdly, the side channel gets spammed with messages but we can't use mic? come on

most servers have a group chat which hardly gets used instead of a side chat. As for the warning thing, people said shut up (I was talking to people in cherno) but they never mentioned "talk in this channel and we'll ban you"

so can't just mute?

Here's my 2 cents of how we can stop the hackers completely: bring in VAC bans. That will fuck them up permanently (at least do this in the stand alone please)

there's an easier fix than this - just take the murders / bandit kills off the debug monitor However, as mentioned above, this would kind of ruin the game. Once you've got everything you basically just want to see how many murders and/or bandit kills you can get (sometimes zombie kills too). edit: To OP, think of it this way - if your friends found a chopper and fixed it up with parts and ammo, you're not gonna just fly around the place (you can do that in Arma II armoury) - you're gonna go gunning people down for fun and to feel a sense of superiority after all the hours you've spent acquring said chopper.

Sounds good but the 10-20 fish at a time thing seems a bit iffy. I would make the bait a toolbelt item like say the box of matches and the fishing rod could take up 2-3 spots of your inventory.

nah I've killed a few people with it and know how broken the scope is (especially at night). It's simply more fun to use the M249 and spot people the old fashion way instead of seeing where they are instantly ;) p.s. If I really need to, I'll go with a squad mate who has an L85 and let him keep an eye out.

this haha, I once went 3 bandit kills and no muders... edit: argh multiquote thing is not working, anyway yeah 105 murders and only 5 bandit kills - you were obviously sitting on the coast though even I kill far more bandits when sitting on the coast haha

was on 2500 for a while but got bored waiting around stary so just went down the the coast and started killing everything -29k

Not sure if this has already been said but could we please increase the draw distance on (some) expert servers. Currently the servers are set at about 800-1100m for most areas? Increasing this to 1500m would be enough, so I could finally use the effective range on this AS50. Cheers!

Infection is definitely an interesting mechanic but because the antibiotics are so extremely rare and the infection is contagious (according to day z wiki) it's often better to put your friend out of his misery. I've only come across antibiotics twice in my entire amount of playing.

You could just 1. not engage with large groups of players or 2. team up with people and just go kill the other group or 3. sneak up on one of them and hide his body when you kill him
