Ah ok. And what happens if a player kills me and loots the map. Can he see those waypoints I have made too?

Just went to Cherno for loot during the night. The run was quite successful but I was crouching whenever I could see a Zed and if not then I would crouch walking. This method takes a lot of time. When I was finally done and wanted to leave the city the sun was setting which forced me to crouch the whole time. Now I am alive for quite a while so I won't try the man method. But the next time I get whacked I will give it a try. Still, somehow the idea to go to a city during daylight scares me away. However I will definitely try to hit the deer stands again with the tips given here. Unfortunately I always get lost in the woods. Can you actually see how long you have been alive?

I just got a map. There are some waypoints already on the map. Are these waypoints from previous players? I have found the map in Cherno at a spawn point. The reason why I am asking this because this map had some waypoints on it and there was a specific way point which made me doubt that they have been put by the mod itself or the devs. That waypoint was described as "Lots of n-word".

I have seen on youtube a vid where a guy was just running through Cherno getting loot and even losing the Zeds or killing them without any problem. I tried once to lose two Zeds in the woods. It didn't work out. Eventually I had to kill them ans I also lost some blood during the fight. Although another time I did manage to lose a Zed while running around a building and going immediately to crouch. Don't know if it was luck or just a bug.

Ok, I will try to follow the advices given here. Yesterday I was trying to hit deer stands instead of cities. First of all I got lost in the woods and then I managed to find one deer stand. So I was proned and tried to think of a strategy how to hit the stand but one of the Zeds saw me from miles away and well you can imagine what happened next. I guess you have to crouch the whole time which could result in a long journey... ;D But I have given up on the deer stands because they will eventually see you when you climb the ladder. I will stick to night raids.

Thanks to Trooper and Lynx. Both were waiting for me to meet up while I was running in circles. Eventually they came to my location and patched me up. You guys rock.

Haha, I guess you don't watch The Walking Dead then. But I know what you mean. Happened to me twice.

I know but still. I wouldn't mind if they can't spot me from far away if I am just crouch walking. If you enter some buildings you have to crouch walk and this is a huge risk.

I need blood transfusion. My blood is down to 5000. Can anybody help me? I am headed to Balota and will be north of it waiting for help. In exchange you can have one blood pack. EDIT: OMG, Now that I have installed steam I can't add anybody because I don't have purchased any games through steam. This really sucks. I really hope one of the medics is going to read my cry for help. Just in case there are any doubts. I am friendly. When I used to play WOW I immediately decided to play on the alliances side because I am a good guy.

I don't have steam and I desperately need assistance. My blood is down to 8000 and I don't have anything to eat so my hunger icon is red. Can anyone help me. I thought I would raid the deer stands but I could not find any and now I am in the middle of nowhere. My location is south from Bor. If you follow the road south and hit the crossing. That's where I am headed.

Can't wait for my hunting experience. Although I did try to hunt a bunny with my hatchet. It didn't turn out that well. So do I have to shoot them or should I go for the bigger prey?

Wow, I can't believe there are people like you out there. But how does it work? If I am in medical need do I have to be on your server or can you help people on any server?

Ah ok thank you very much. I guess then I will just stick to the hatchet and a gun. Another thing, I have decided to avoid the big cities atleast during daylight. Do you have any suggestions where I should go? North probably but where exactly?

Ok, thanks. I will try it the "-" for typing as "/" wasn't working for me. I have a german keyboard so I guess the english "/" is different than the german one. As for "shoot on sight", yeah that happened to me twice. The first one was a sniper who shot my while I was going for the firestation in Elektro. Somehow I survived although my blood was down to 1000. I tried to make my way to the supermarket to regain some blood with beans but there was another guy who shot me dead. I didn't even see him. Now I have decided to stay out of the big cities. Another question, is there any way to stash your rifle and use the hatchet as primary for Zombies? I tried to exchange the rifle with the hatchet but that only resulted in losing my rifle.

After watching an ongoing series on youtube (Let's play together DayZ) I was really digging this game and decided to buy Arma II (which I am never going to play) just for this mod. Surprisingly there have been made some changes although the vids on youtube didn't show those changes and they are just over a month old. 1. You can't chat anymore 2. Now you spawn only with a flashlight instead of a Makarov 3. The Zombies can see you from far away in broad daylight I googled it and it's said only direct chat and voice chat is possible. I haven't tried voice chat but direct chat doesn't seem to work. I can change the channels from global to group and direct etc. but how can you type anything? I don't get the prompt for typing. So I want to know if it is possible to direct chat (how?) and voice chat? Or are these features gone?
