You really think people only KoS out of fear? What about people who play for the sole purpose of killing other players? They don't do it because they are scared, they do it for fun. I love playing lone wolf and going out and just shooting every living person I see. You guna hate me for it? Go play another game then, as this one isn't carebear friendly.

If you're bored, spawn new character, find a very basic weapon and wait for a new player who doesn't have a weapon. Proceed to chase him around the map while saying random things over the microphone.

"Logs on as zombie, knows where all players are as tells which towns can spawn in. Tells friends of player locations, players get killed by bandits". The first thing that popped into my head. EDIT: Now that I think about it, a lot of people moan about the entire "shooting on sight" mindset. This actually encourages it. Killing players as a zombie would not benefit you for any reason, at least as a player you might get to loot something worthwhile.

Probably an eye patch, peg leg, jolly roger. hidden treasuer, lots of swashbuckling action!! ...Hang on, misread the title, my bad.

I bound sprint to space bar. It is much better than 2 x w when you want to sprint, plus it's easier to lean something on it like TV remote without having loads of things taped, balanced and wedged in your keys :P

I am looking for this sort of thing? I am 22 and my play hours vary due to work shifts and gym. Availability tends to be most of weekend, and on a week night I get home at 1730 and free to play from about 1830 or if going to gym I am free to play from about 2000 ish. I am from UK

Hi lads, I am in a similar boat. I am UK based and want to get in a team. I am not totally hardcore gamer at the minute due to doing alot of overtime at work, but I have played dayz for 3-4 weeks now and had some pretty decent equipment. I will add you on skype tonight Robuovo if you wana game!

Love how you post in the forums that you used an exploit. If you really think that you logging off at that point is not exploiting then you need to have a reality check. If you hadn't logged, he would have killed you and survived. Because you logged, he died instead. You had an unfair advantage, it's as simple as that.

So I was waiting for a friend to log in, planned to meet at the docks in Cherno. After about 10 minutes of waiting for him to reach my position, I decided to have a quick look in the nearest residential to see if there was any food or drink (as I had just spawned so had nothing). Saw a package on the floor, and it's a ghillie. After 10 minutes of creating my character, the first item I aquire before even getting water, ends up being a ghillie suit! So I am quite happy about my find, considering the chances of that happening being extremely low. We get some gear and have a wander around for about an hour, when I decide it's time for some food, so I log out on a hill out of sight. Upon logging back in, I run straight into the nearest barn with hopes of atleast getting a CZ. No joy, so I grab the enfield and fill out my remaining slots with ammo. I go to walk down the stairs, only for my leg to break and an artery to rupture (assumingly). But wait, no bandage, no morphine. SCHOOL BOY ERROR! By this point my friend has already logged out, so I start crawling to the treeline for the inevitable death that is slowly approaching, with plans to come and recover the suit when I respawn. After a long crawl of desperation and 11,000 blood later, I open my pack to swap out the clothing back to civilian so I can loot my body once I respawn. Oh wait, I just replaced it with 10 enfield rounds. I bleed to death, drowning in my own self pity and intense feelings of regret. Easy come, easy go. But just so those stairs know, I have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for objects like you. If you let my ghillie suit go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

Much easier way. Go into your dayz controls, change it to "commands" and delete "space" out of the entry, as it does nothing as far as im aware (make sure you do this step!). When I say commands, I mean you can choose vehicle controls, regular etc. I am at work and can't remember the exact name, but pretty sure its commands, or commander. But then change your fast forward bind from w x 2, to space bar. Then holding space bar makes you sprint. Place one end of telephone on space bar and then you dont need to try and access the W key with a banana or your life savings worth of pennies.

Steer away from any stairs you come across on your travels!

I was going to, but I like to play ball. If I had gone through more effort to find the suit then maybe I would have done that :) Plus I just wanted to play, couldn't be axed to wait around !

It's the thought that counts :P At least I have finally experienced what it's like to have one. The hunt is on for a replacement!

Ok so I have been playing DayZ just fine for the past 3 weeks or something, I logged out last night no problems, computer running fine, game running fine (on lowest settings !). However, logging in today it is really laggy. Like a terrible fps of about 0.5-1 fps. I am out of town as well. I tried defrag disk, restarting computer, checking processes, etc. but cant work out what it could be. I also loaded up a training mission in Arma 2:OA, and it's running fine. Anybody got any ideas what could have happened? I haven't changed anything since last night at all! Much appreciated.

Hi there, I am looking for a group to join. Was thinking of starting one afresh but looks like this is pretty similar to what I had in mind. I am GMT+0 aswell. I am not ex/current military but served in the army cadets for 2 years ^.^ (Although it was about 6 years ago as I am now 22!) Really want to loot and pillage, but also would be interested in doing some skirmishes for some gear i.e. locating crash sites, looting, then camping out for a while to hunt un-suspecting survivors :) PM me if I sound like the kind of person you're looking for. P.s. Have been playing dayz for 2 weeks and a half now or 1 week and a half; weeks tend to merge together when you do loads of overtime at work -.-
