Post Return Observations - 9 hours played after 6 months away

Funny, I came back after a few months and found absolutely nothing was fixed with the core gameplay. 1. Still only 50 players max in one server. I've played for 6 hours on full servers without meeting a single person. 2. Zombies, I've seen like 6, averaging 1 an hour, that being said their pathing is better now. Yet interacting with them (melee combat) is still absolute shit. 3. Game still runs like poop. Is it too hard to ask the core gameplay to be fixed before they add more weapons and items? All I want is plenty of zombies, 100 players or more servers. -
Yeah I can't find any way to change my name :( EDIT: Apparently you can change your name by clicking your name in the bottom right corner in the main menu. Why is this not a box in the character screen? This is very unintuitive

Same here, just keep on getting teleported back. This should be one of the top priorities to fix because it just breaks the game.

The rubberbanding and the random teleporting back and freezing are different things, as far as I've seen both are not yet fixed -

That's stupid because unlike MMO's there is no "safe zone" in this game and 2min is too long. You would get shot so many times if you log off anywhere near a populated area. A combat timer is way better like a lot of the DayZ mods have. -

Yes, but it saves the server from having to restart every 5 hours because of the amount of bodies slowing the game down -

Don't know where you live, but here in Europe, any kind of canned food can be bought in either version. Canned food can have any shape, and any way of opening. Also, who cares?

gamingdeluxe has some EU servers that run at a time offset making it daylight until 3AM or so CET But they should put the server time zone in the server name.

The challenge of DayZ should be that you get thrown in balls deep. You die, learn from it and go at it again. If you are new to DayZ and you don't like that the game doesn't hold your hand, well you bought the wrong game. The only thing newcomers are allowed to bitch about is the lack of loot and zombies on filled servers. Most other things require you to play the game for more then a day.

I think it great. The only thing that needs work is the servers. They are too lagy often and make it unplayable. However if you can find a good server. Its a lot of fun. -

Since I have started playing on private hives only I have not seen a single hacker yet. And no admin abuse, the admins just want the same thing you do. To play the game fair and have fun. -
Exactly and hackers will just spawn a bunch of weapons and make tents. A hive reset won't help anything

A hive wipe would not change anything. Hackers will have duped everything back in 2 minutes anyway

Since it is the only fix for Alt+F4 until they find some way to fix it, its pretty much the only weapon to use if you want to kill someone -

The only problem with that is that Battleye doesn't ban them, every server admin has to do it. I would agree with you if battleye would work and give global bans to hackers instead of banning 10000 innocent people and then bragging about it on every server with their stupid messages. -

Did everyone in this thread forget that servers in this game have a massive influence on your FPS. Find a good server and your FPS will be better. -

Tents have a 50/50 chance of saving once, vehicles spawn where they were last saved in 2.4 and can't be saved.
