I wouldn't expect the alpha till 2014 at this point. If they are releasing dev blogs again it means they have given up the 'mad dash' and are now working at a more steady pace. Steady pace means normal dev cycle which means probably not for another year.

Survivor Smack Down Sign Up (Community Survivor Games)
Bzerker01 posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
War Machine Gaming is going to put on its own version of the popular Survivor Games called Survivor Smackdown. The difference being that anyone in the community can sign up! The game is scheduled for Sunday June the 16th with time TBD. Let me give you a breakdown of how this thing is going to work. All participants will sign up in teams of 2 using our helpful online form. There are only enough for 20 teams of 2 for this first match so the sign ups are first come first serve, however there will be waiting lists and hopefully other events like this in the future. We use a modified version of Chernarus, a walled off area in the center of the map with Novy and Stary at the center as seen here Participants are welcome to stream or record the proceedings as they wish and I, your humble host, will be streaming the action and giving you live play by play commentary. The teams will be placed on the edge of the map at random with the goal of reaching a rescue chopper that will drop in 2 hours into the game or when all but 1 team is left standing. The winning team will receive 2 copies of DayZ standalone courtesy of War Machine Gaming and immediate placement in the next game of Survivor Smackdown. -
The Laughing Man Prive Hive Admin Hacking Video
Bzerker01 replied to laughisback's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I have seen them sending out hackers to promote their site by hacking others who were close to them in terms of rank, and that was November of last year. Generally speaking TLM servers are handled like a shady buisness, like all shady buisnesses they may be hyper successful for a short time but eventually they are exposed and fall. I want to be civil about this but this kind of behaviour is exactly the reason I don't play as much as I used to, its all about server rank and making money for hastily built server companies or the server hosts themselves by any means nessecary. People talk about wanting a 'pure vanilla experience' but they generally just want the highly modded pay 2 win donation perks servers which is the reason this mentality flurishes in the Mod. Didn't intend to rant but this is just too poigent a -
Said this on the post SmashT made on reddit. Depends, it would work well if there were a way to judge the wind direction like you can in reality, maybe a "finger in the wind" option that will tell you the direction the wind is coming from, and just the direction. Possibly also an item that can judge the speed like a wind anemometer. Otherwise its a great idea.

Ours is because we want to give it a try, So far it seems the hotfix isn't on dayz commander so most people haven't updated it. As a result expect a lot more people to be playing the origonal before the hotfix is added to the downloads. I don't, a third party site like pollster should be used and the link posted to the different communities. There is already so much ubermench mentality on these forums, being the "true/real/only community" as I have seen over the last two days that many people will be turned off/won't participate and the problem happens again.

Bitch you know that the hive-mind demands full disclosure, you best tell everyone you have a bias or risk your karma. Oh and as for rocket, you can't tell me what to do!

Good luck, I don't think this is the right response but I hope you guys enjoy it.

For the record I like the new stuff, all the names not so much but over all I like the diversity of loot. However, as a redditor who has barely touched my forum account since I created it here I find the assumption that the forum represents the whole community as offensive. DayZ is beyond rocket, beyond the dev team, beyond the site, beyond reddit, it's become something so massive that there is no central community but hubs where people choose to go to for their information. It's this attitude that created this issue in the first place, please don't try and turn this into an 'us vs. them' argument because all it does is hurt the community as a whole.
