I've been killed 18 times today just trying to get basic equipment, and every time I went to recover my corpse, it was bugged. So no, I don't think it needs to be made harder. I think every second of developer time spent on this mod going forward should be spent fixing existing bugs.

Hey I've got an idea, how bout lets fix all of the broken shit before we start fucking around with the existing shit.

Dayz, fanboyz myths , and impact of hacking on the game [different approach]
flimsypremise replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The dude is trying to collect some helpful information. No need to be a dick about it. -
Banditry: The Underappreciated Service to the DayZ Community...ATM
flimsypremise replied to kayakinack's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I love the snipers camping spawns. Best source of good gear. I suggest going to unpopulated servers, climbing up to popular sniping points, and then logging into populated servers to pop the sniper while his back is turned. Probably the most fun I've had in dayz. -
Sniping in DayZ. The built in hack & how it should change for the better/harder
flimsypremise replied to Cheboygan's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Perhaps a good starting point would just be to make sniper rifles far less accurate. -
My secret for a quick gear up
flimsypremise replied to Hoskins123's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, like all the snipers who somehow seem to have found AS50s and thermal vision and gillies. Funny how that works. Anyone killing these fuckers is a hero to me and most of the other people playing DayZ. [edit] I'll be doing this too now, so I hope none of you liked sniping unimpeded in cherno too much. -
My secret for a quick gear up
flimsypremise replied to Hoskins123's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This guy is a fucking hero. People calling him a cheater are delusional. In game where hackers are teleporting miles into the sky, you have the nerve to badmouth the one dude who is actually doing something useful. Find something else to wring your hands about, there's plenty about this game that qualifies. The people who snipe new players in the big cities are scumbags. They deserve what this guys does to them. -
Rocket and team are Lazy/Incompetent/Do not know what they are doing.
flimsypremise replied to TheDee (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The development practices employed for this game are utter garbage. There is no roadmaps, no community engagement, no information whatsoever and meanwhile the game is dying. -
Hackers, and the state of the standalone game?
flimsypremise replied to KetchupOnTheDog's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm done with DayZ, and as I have zero faith in Rocket's ability to effectively address security issues, I won't be returning for the standalone. Developers seem incapable not only of stopping the hacks, but engaging with the community in any way to reassure us that there is some solution on the horizon. This has been a waste of time and money. -

flimsypremise replied to Max Planck's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
"Wait for the standalone" is not an acceptable answer. This game has been rendered unplayable by hackers, and I have zero faith that the standalone won't be similarly afflicted. If Rocket wants people to pay money for the standalone product, he needs to do some work convincing the player base that he's serious about the security issues, instead of puttering around making minor gameplay tweaks to a platform that is completely unplayable. -

Hackers are ruining your game. This one single problem is obviating everything else you do. Why are you working on anything else? -
Yeah I wouldn't worry about being banned. The likelihood of actually getting caught is pretty much nil. Just do whatever, there are no consequences.

TO ALL CHEATERS AND PISSED OFF PEOPLE
flimsypremise replied to Restore Integrity Humanity's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Users are running out of patience for the fucking hackers, not the threads. This game is dying and all you people can do is troll and complain about the sorts of threads people are making. -
Hackers, and the state of the standalone game?
flimsypremise replied to KetchupOnTheDog's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This game is a waste of my time. Just got killed by a hacker. Took me 4 days to get all of my equipment legitimately. Next time I'm just going to dupe it all. There's no point in playing by the rules if you just get punished for it. -
Why I kill unarmed players
flimsypremise replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I love the morons who kill unarmed players. I can just hide in Elektro or Cherno until I hear them go after some poor defenseless dude, then hunt them down and loot all the great shit off their corpse. Anyone who shoots a weapon audibly when they don't have to is just asking to get stalked and killed. Let this dude what he wants, more rich idiot corpses laden with great shit for the people who know what they're doing (and aren't deviant sociopaths). -
Hackers - What you need to know.
flimsypremise replied to DarkRaven123's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
How are the hackers able to hook specific memory addresses given the widespread prevalence of ASLR in modern operating systems? I believe that Windows 7 enables it by default.
