Because you need loot to survive. I'd love to think that the next time someone has the jump on me will try to hold me up instead. But Lord knows they'll just load the back of my skull up buck shot. So, you gotta fight fire with fire. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see more incentive to surviving.

I usually make the mistake of opening fire too early and not waiting for a better chance. Which ends up in me dying. A time with a story though, was when me and my squad mate had gotten separated. We were in Cherno and I was ducked down next to a house behind a fence. The place was hot and he had just died. I was holding his shit for him and waiting. I wasn't confident enough at the time to move out on my own. (Plus, I think I had a broken leg) I was armed with an AK. He made it back in town and was trying to move onto my position. I was panicking because we could hear shots. I was crouched down and seen some guy run out in front of me, no more than a few feet away. So I take him out with one burst. Next thing I know, my squad mate is chewing me out for killing him. At least it was a good shot.

It all started back in my 360 days. I'd play with a few IRL friends and one of them was full-blown retard. He would say things like "big o gay" or some sort of adjective with "big o" in front of it. Well, "Big Daddy" also became some sort of nick name for anyone in general. Example would be "Hey can you kill that kid on the ridge for me, big daddy?" While playing with someone. (It sounds dumb, I know. This was 8th or 9th grade. Eventually, we all started using "biggun" or "biggs" as a general nick name for anyone.) So I combined the two into "BiG o D DaDDY" 'D' being the beginning letter of my name. It stayed that way for a long time. (My previous gamertag was Arbiter28, which I liked.) Eventually I moved over to PC. When I got Steam I streamlined the name into a simple "BiGoDeViN". Been like that ever since.

After about 30 minutes I finally meet up with my friend. We regrouped, settled our supplies and take off. Then there must have been a nice gust of wind because my character flew a good 70 feet into the air and graciously spattered into the pavement on the Cherno docs.

Oh wow! Not just IRL encounters with the man himself, but in-game too! I got home after my previously mentioned successful run (Got hit but made it back okay) I hopped on some DayZ and joined a server. Some foreign guys asked me to join up to raid a base. I happily obliged. After we ran in there all silent we ran into the enemies torture room or some other sick shit. Rocket had taken out like 5 guys and had their leader captive. Some hardcore shit! He was trying to get him to confess to their main base location. I was lucky enough to take an in-game picture, too! No edits, all real:

OP wasn't bullshitting! I was in the hills west of my house, making my usual runs for food and such. And I seen Rocket about 100 yards away. I think he was training for Everest or something. I took a picture as best I could. Sorry about quality. I was in a hurry. A few bandits a few hundred yards away were firing shots.

Haha, Yeah, PH servers would be sick if they all weren't "50000+ Vehicles, All weapons available at start" bullshit. I found one that gave you a .45 and NVGs. The fuck? He lurks around the Health & Fitness forums posting about his regiment and bragging about gains. He's a pretty big dildo. On topic: The video looked amazing. It looks a lot less twitchy than the mod. Which is something I really wanted. Looting looks very improved, especially now that things aren't in the middle of a room. Vaulting was needed, I hate taking 30 seconds to climb over a jumpable fence. And the graphics are as smooth as pearls. I can't even complain. It's really shaping up.

You got two options. You can find newspawns and hand out your goodies. Or you can go on a killing spree. Secret option number three is become a merc and run with people who need help until you die.

This world of Day Z is shit. It's black and filled with evil. A man will shoot another man for a can of beans. But there's the dog-eat-dog basic survival instincts that kick in and then there's the inhumane love of killing another man and taking what he earned. The latter seems to be the most popular. But there's three types of people in this world. Bandits, Heroes, and Survivors. Bandits are the majority. They plunder and kill and will shoot a man extremely out gunned and not even bother to trek the few hundred meters to take what he had. These are bastards. The people who brought all of this shit to Chernarus in the first place. The kind of men that would point a revolver at your face and play russian roulette with you at the loosing end. Then there's heroes. The small majority. It's a rarity to see a man with a vest on and a stripped shirt. It's usually just a simple tale at a camp fire. But sometimes, when your bleeding out and about to die, the bandit who has that revolver pointing at you suddenly has his head explode and a man with a stripped blue shirt gives you a bandage. It's rare but it happens. It should happen all the time. It used to before all of this happened. People would help each other but now... now it's just all went to hell. Then there's Survivors. You don't stay in the neutral zone for long. Something eventually turns you. It makes you click and has you decide which part you'll be on. Some have the resolve to deal with bandits, and try to beat them and not join them. To bring what was left back. Then the rest just join them. Just become apart of the problem and make the shit continue to swirl. Not sure about you OP, but I refuse to allow a few assholes ruin it for me. I refuse to continue to make bambi's respawn over and over. I'd rather be the man with the rifle pointed at the bandit than the man with the revolver pointed at the innocent. Hello, Stalkers! Shit, been a damn long time! I had this game DL'd back in God only knows when. I got mega frustrated with it and just quit. (Me and my squad was armed to the mother-fucking teeth and got downed by a hatched dragger. Hacking of course) but I'm ready to pick up DayZ again. But I've been out of da game so long I have no clue what's changed and what hasn't. Still a lot of hacking? Still no trust among players? I'd be grateful if someone would fill me in.
