Found a M4A1 CCO SD in the last room in the barracks last night. Only thing else was a M1014 shotgun. That's all. It's about luck and who was there before you. Remember there are 2 barracks, a firestation, and air tower that have good chance of loot. But, everything besides the southern-most barrack is extremely risky.

Learn how to loose zombies, even in daylight. Some have suggested running into buildings because they're slower in there. I disagree with this method for a number of reasons. You'll likely trap yourself with the zombie horde between you and your only exit Another survivor/bandit may be occupying that room and turn on you You'll be forced to open fire (unless you have the hachet) and draw even more zombies (and humans) to your location Zombies are only slow in the mod, this behavior won't be in the standalone. Why practice a method that won't be supported later? The only reason you should enter building while aggro'd is to loose line-of-sight and exiting through a rear door. Your best bet in the wilderness, are pine trees. Simply run right through them and then immediately go prone. If done right, the zombie will loose you completely and you'll be safe to crawl away. Obviously this has inherent risk because you'll be vulnerable in prone if you haven't lost them and they may take a swipe or two. Keep filtering yourself through pine trees until you loose them all. Also at night (even dusk or dawn) you should not need to kill the zombies at all. there simply is not enough light for them to keep reacquiring you after a couple breaks with fences, trees, etc. If you're using weapons at night to get rid of zombies, you're doing something wrong. You should be able to get away 80% of the time even in day. I've lived for over a week now with my current character, found a lot of high end gear including a L85 and raided plenty of supermarkerts. Total zombie kills: 2. I've simply haven't needed to kill anything with my 1911 because I've got used to taking the time to evade them. -

As a point of intuitiveness, you may want to reverse the yellow and red regions as red makes more sense for the null-zone and yellow for the spawn cycles. Just my opinion. Glad to see someone take the initiative and explain a key but mostly misunderstood mechanic of the mod. -

I'm quoting this because it needs to be. Use ALT! It keeps your body still while giving you an almost 360* perspective. This should be one of your most pressed keys in game. (in before alt-F4 joke)

It will help when there are more specific end game goals to achieve rather than PvP. (Which I get a thrill out of, by the way, so I'm not QQing.) Also, as Dallas noted, "heroes" will be better differentiated between normal survivors and bandits, though this is made obsolete by acquiring clothing. Remember the direct chat as well and you'll stand a better chance.

...what should I do with it? My friend and I were raiding NWAF North Barracks when he found it just lying in the hallway. They come up as standard pouches (like Makarov mags) so we almost missed it. He doesn't want to risk himself in Cherno or some other populated player zone to arm it and blow it in someone's face, so he generously passed it on to me. I might just do that myself but I was considering my options. A lot of power in my hands, I want to use it right. Now taking suggestions from the floor.

Found my current pair at a crashed helicopter, south of Stary Sobor, along with a Mk 48 Mod 0. It was night so I was able to raid it without drawing too much aggro. -

My clan seems to have had better days but we suffer more from real-life issues and uneven play-times than active, internal sabotage. Jdz's right though, better to have a smaller group of trusted players in Dayz so you can account for stuff better. Or just make your tents off-limits based on rank. Also, good idea to actually form a clan around friends and people you like to play with than just people who can get good loot. It seems that a lack of motivation to play together perhaps stems from an overly formal relationship between clan-mates. Just my opinion, though. -

Could be helpful, for those of you getting glitches, to report if you have done any 'clean' installs on the mod or game and whether you tried relogging, rebooting the client, or re-dowloading the game (extreme case). Just a suggestion. -

Hacking is endemic to Arma 2's design, until we can move away from that/heavily modify it via the standalone, we might have to endure a bit more.
