Blood Regeneration While Logged Out
UbiquitousBadGuy replied to Jett (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It's not about being easy or too easy to regain blood. It's about being realistic. Blood regenerates naturally. Therefore a realistic blood regen is not against the core foundation of the game. -
Stop all development; This must be added immediately
UbiquitousBadGuy replied to Doxshund (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If people are going to seriously petition hostess to allow twinkies in the game. (Which I'm all for by the way.) Then we need to make sure the reference is not lost on the higher-ups who could potentially approve of this. The reference being Zombie Land of course. -
Feedback: 1.5.8 Zombie Spawn
UbiquitousBadGuy replied to forgotten's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Zombie spawns should be reduced so this may be an actual "glitch" and something worth fixing. I will have to check out my game personally to see a difference. Either way, the best way to move around zombies is to go prone and sneak around on your belly. It's slower but pretty fool-proof in not attracting them. -

Makeshift/temporary suppressors for pistols
UbiquitousBadGuy replied to UbiquitousBadGuy's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I would think all you would need to do was add a new makorov skin for the suppressor and change the values temporarily. But I haven't modded Arma before so I wouldn't know. -
What happens when you die ingame?
UbiquitousBadGuy replied to aralvar's topic in New Player Discussion
There's no need to be derisive. Better to have someone realize their limits of enjoyment before hand rather than coming in under false pretenses. -

error message when you try to put stuff in your backpack but there is no room
UbiquitousBadGuy replied to LeYuno (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
This. A thousand time this. I've gotten better at being careful about what I store but there should still be a warning to prevent you from loosing hard-won gear. -
Solution to the morality predicament
UbiquitousBadGuy replied to bgivenb's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
This doesn't even make sense within the established canon. The statement is a commentary of the abandonment of moral principles in life-and-death situations, it is not to be taken literally. -
An open letter to the silent majority

Showing my support for Rocket and the continuation of constructive criticism. :) -
Love this 'game'. One question though....
UbiquitousBadGuy replied to leerf's topic in New Player Discussion
Hindsight is 20/20 so it seems like now you should've shot him and have a chance of getting out. On the other hand, you would've risked attracted Zeds to your position so it's hard to say definitely. Regardless, I'm sure you'll agree that this game forces the hard questions and sometimes there might not be a "right" choice. -
Server Hopping + Loot spawns + Barbed Wire = Broken Game
UbiquitousBadGuy replied to jonaswashe's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Threads like this is what we need. Fantastic suggestions. Server hopping is definitely something we need to address. -
Some suggestions for the future (from an Arma RPG player)
UbiquitousBadGuy replied to bayers's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Stun guns, I think, would be a bit too rare but that doesn't mean the concept is useless. I think using blunt melee weapons (or even the stock of your gun barrel) could have the same effect. This would give more credibility and use to using melee weapons against Zeds if you could use them for incapping players. -
Agree with Maxipower. Death is the ultimate equalizer in this game and as more features are added to encourage surviving (discoverable player skins is a push in this direction) the more people will put surviving on the top of their priorities and less on taking unnecessary risks.

There are some of us that go to work and can only play in the evenings during the week. When we log in to our local servers, they are usually at dusk or near black already. The solution is not making it any easier to see at night, neither is it changing the timescale to anything other 1:1. I simply want to occasionally play on a day server without joining one in Russia or waiting for the weekend.

Safe Zone (No shooting/No Zombies)
UbiquitousBadGuy replied to Greasy (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Only if the safe zones were maintained and enforced by people. Setting arbitrary safe zones that is not open to player choice seems very risky. -
Suggested tweaks to balance game play
UbiquitousBadGuy replied to Leechman's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The best solutions are elegant in their simplicity and execution. Installing arbitrary rules to limit "undesirable" behavior is messy and invites other issues while making the system more complex than it needs to be. Kudos for devising a solution that attacks the fundamental "flaw" without bias. I completely agree that Zed aggroing is the best way to deal with the issue. -
Scorped rifles need to go or become ULTRA rare
UbiquitousBadGuy replied to Mutonizer's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I agree, take the scoped weapons out from the major population centers and add a (very) few more to the middle of the map. Should balance itself out nicely. -
Death should reset you back 6 hours.
UbiquitousBadGuy replied to BossFi's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I don't agree with the 6 hour rollback, death should be final and absolute (barring a re-roll) but a lot of people seem to inoculate themselves from giving constructive criticism by attacking the nature of the OP rather than the idea. The idea is a bad one, so show and explain why it's bad and would never work or benefit the core game. Attacking the OP and claiming your own flawless superiority over the "dirty casuals" makes you look like an insecure asshole. We are all above this. The mod will survive on the strength of its ideas and not because fans continually defend the game from every perceived "attack". -
More reasons to go in-land...
UbiquitousBadGuy replied to SpiritSharD (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I too, would like to see more incentive for being out in the Wilderness. I was thinking maybe more wildlife or simple consumables like drinks and food should spawn to make people a bit more self-sufficient in the woods. Of couse, they best rewards will always be the towns but there should be some reward for hiking up well past the treeline. As for Stary Sobor, I once traveled 4 hours to get there but when I arrived, I was kicked from the server. Rejoining, I found that the entire place picked clean of supplies likely resulting in my new server selection. To make things worse, a bandit found me while I was at my most vulnerable and shot me after I killed his buddy. I wound up on the coast. My point is, with all the spawns near the coast, it makes it less worthwhile to solo all they way up to some of the remote areas when you can picked off easily by some paranoid player/bandit/Zed. Would people be interested to see a very controlled number of spawns added further inland? -
Another thing about the loss of humanity that doesn't seem to be well known is each shot inflicted on the survivor count towards the loss of humanity, not just the kill-shot. (Shooting a person 4-5 times in the body to kill will drop your humanity more than a clean headshot.)

Hopefully direct chat will be implemented soon. Until then use the blue text chat like Hunter said. Right now, global chat is activated via holding down the caps lock. Don't do this! It lags up the server and is generally considered rude. :)

I plan on making a pilgrimage to the airfield one of these days. Though, the thought of being wasted by unseen bandits/survivors before stepping foot on the tarmac gives me pause. Ah well, one day.
