    How do SD mags work?

Oh wow, I didn't actually know this. Time to stock up on SD rounds for all teh zombies.
  2. 99% of the OP is about a new vehicle system. I don't really see where you were trying to go with that. You're free to have your opinion on whether or not the current vehicle system has problems, I'm just proposing an idea that might make the system flow smoother, and overall make the game a better play (not that it isn't already :P ).
  3. The vehicle system is badly designed, but I don't think adding more vehicles will necessarily solve the problem. Simply making it harder for clans/admins to locate those vehicles by spreading them out similar to helicopter crash sites will allow for a more even distribution of vehicles, as I've said in earlier posts.
  4. Thanks mate, that's really the idea I was going for. Glad some people are beginning to understand. :)
  5. And I agree. Vehicles are first come, first serve; and that's the way it should be. However, there are way too many people that take advantage of the fact that all the vehicles in Chernarus have fixed spawn points. They exploit this by stockpiling them to keep players from finding them in the world, forcing them to resort to running along the very edges of the map to find a vehicle. The idea I mentioned in the OP about having vehicles have a greatly increased number of spawn points encourages exploration and prevents stockpiling for a longer period of time, allowing vehicles to be spread more evenly throughout the community of that server.
  6. It's posts like these that irritate me. Not once in my first post did I ever say I had trouble finding vehicles. I know where they all are. I'm talking about a widespread problem that, in my mind, needs to be fixed. I'm talking about something the devs of the game probably want to see changed. This is exactly why people like you shouldn't be able to speak out. Instead of focusing on a problem and coming up with a real solution, you just accept it for what it is and say the game couldn't be any better.
  7. Well, the nicest thing I've ever done and the nicest thing somebody else has ever done for me happened at about the same time. I was looking around the industrial area in Elektro for a toolbox to repair an ATV I had found, when a random guy with a hatchet comes up with a bunch of zeds following him. He's bleeding and is low on blood, so I let him into this building I was in and shot all the zombies tailing him with my AKM. He tells me he doesn't have any bandages, so I risk going up to him and bandaging him. He doesn't attack me. I ask him if he's seen any toolboxes and he says no. So I tell him after I look around a little bit more, we can go to the hospital and I'll give him some blood. After searching we end up in a large building, and he gets knocked out by a zombie. My AKM shots then attract a huge horde, and I'm forced to drag him back into the building and wait until he regains consciousness. I'm pretty much out of ammo, but I see a way out of the building despite the 20 zombies flooding through the doors. I tell him to follow me and I run out, but he doesn't follow. He aggroed the entire horde and made sure I didn't get swarmed on my way out, and as soon as I was about 10 meters away, I saw he was killed.
  8. I've been playing DayZ for about three weeks now, and I've pretty much done everything from raiding the NWAF to sitting in Elektro killing everybody I see. One day I decided to give vehicles a try, as they are pretty much mobile storage. I gather up my supplies and toolbox, then quickly find something wrong. Every vehicle spawn location I go to, there is nothing. Server hopping quickly ensues. After about an hour of server hopping for each of 3 vehicle spawn locations I tried, I found one ATV on one of the most low-populated servers I could find. I happily load my gear up and begin driving to the NWAF to stock up on goodies. Satisfied once I reached my target location, I logged off for the day. This is where shit starts to hit the fan. I get back on DayZ and filter through the servers to find the one with my ATV. I find literally nothing. I remember a server in which the same thing happened after I pitched a tent and stored some of the rarest items in the game. I was frustrated. I was so frustrated, I took it upon myself to find a reliable server that had an ATV. I server hop for a good two hours, then finally find one. Again, I head to the NWAF and proceed to accidentally flip my ATV. Deciding to wait for a server restart, I decide to call it quits for the day. The next day, the ATV is gone, and it wasn't in a populated area at all. It was along (as far as I know) one of the least used roads near the NWAF. My only conclusion is that a server restart made it disappear after I did indeed save it, or that some guy just got extremely lucky. 3 ATV's later, and here I am. I have gone through about 5 ATV's putting up with these servers that like to fuck with me. I have lost assault rifles and sniper rifles due to this. At the time of this post I'm sitting in the middle of nowhere because the server that had an ATV next to me seemingly disappeared into thin air. Sorry for the ranty nature of this post, but as of late vehicles have come to annoy me greatly. If you guys have anything to add or want to point out anything I should know, it would be much appreciated.

    Your Worst Betrayel Story

I found a guy in Elektro that I was about to finish off with my AKM, he was screaming friendly. He had a hatchet, so I didn't really think he could do much to me in the event of betrayal. I asked if he needed blood, he said yes. It was probably the most obvious trap I had ever fallen into when he simply allowed me to give him blood then proceeded to kill me with his hatchet. >.>
  10. I once ventured to Green Mountain in search of an ATV. I dare say it did not end well. It was fairly dark and zombies were swarming about. I cautiously entered the base, making sure not to attract any unwanted attention. I barely made it past the large groups of military zombies. I saw no vehicles to fix up however, so I attempted to make my escape. A lone zombie saw me, and proceeded to break my leg on his first swing. I was bleeding and my leg was broken, and soon I saw a second zombie run toward me as the first was still busy gutting me. Luckily I was carrying an M4A1 CCO SD, and was able to shoot them silently. If I had not had a silenced weapon, I would have probably died. Green Mountain would have been my grave.
  11. This is exactly the kind of post I can relate to. Either I have the absolute worst luck with finding/driving vehicles, or something is up.

    Concerning Vehicles

I haven't really had many problems with saving. It was just once that my ATV disappeared due to something server-side. The other times the server just spontaneously vanished from the list. As far as I know it's probably just the fact that all the servers in which I find my vehicles are insanely low-populated, so they just stop being hosted. Is it true that people go around hiding vehicles just for the hell of it? I have yet to find one on any server that has an average population of 20+
