Helicopters don't require a fuel tank repair currently. It's annoying but generally 4 jerry cans will get you to a gas station, and once you fill it up with 30 or so it doesn't go down very fast while in flight

Did I kill an admin/hacker?
unfair replied to mediocreyeti@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Due to loading bugs and sync issues I wouldn't guarantee this was hacking. If you killed him and he relogged before the main server realized he was dead it may have respawned him at the same spot with the same gear. I've had times where I logged in and found a copy of myself dead at my feet, with a message that I'd been killed. Other times you'll log into the wilderness (no trees or anything), and if you relog again you'll find yourself near cherno with all your gear - regardless of where you were before. There will be a dead copy of your body wherever you were before as well. I'd imagine all these bugs are due to how flaky and long the loading process is to get into a server. -
AS50, night vision, rangefinder, gps, etc - was online when a hacker killed everyone on the server instantly. Body wasn't there when I made it back. No biggie though, once you know how to play it only takes 2-3 hours to regear yourself pretty well. (and most of that time is spent running)

Would you kill them or trade them

The tires on your vehicles are gone half a second after the snipers are dead, assuming I don't accidentally miss and put an AS50 round right through your engine block while you're sitting on it. Leaving one merchant alive to follow back to the weapon stash wouldn't be a bad idea. -
unreasonable murders -> lack of identity

I wouldn't mind knowing who killed me just so I can add them to my own kill list for later - I don't need to know where they were or what weapon, just a simple name. I don't see heavy player killing as a problem though. Granted I just started playing a week or two ago, but initially I was only sniping equally well geared players. Then I had a guy run up behind me and start wailing on me with a hatchet. Luckily he sucked, but the point had been made - if you let anyone around you survive they can be an equally valid threat no matter how poorly geared they are. If you could hear footsteps further away that might be a different story - but currently at a run you have a second at most before the person is on top of you. I took out a guy with an AS50 with a remington shotgun + slugs just by running up behind him quickly - game over. -
I don't think regen is necessary as long as your blood is 5k or over. I'd like to see it regen until you get above the passing out point though. Pretty annoying when you can't even scavenge the tools to kill a pig safely because you're likely to pass out with a zombie nearby. Another alternative which wouldn't require regen - allow solo people to use blood bags on themselves if they're under 5k, but the bag will only bring you back to 5-7k, not full health.

People were continually respawning until they got a point near the city they wanted. You can still do it obviously, it just takes a few minutes longer since you have to run to a group of zombies to die.

I don't even bother closing doors, since the zombies often walk straight through them without even opening them. It just ends up trapping the player if they can't get it back open if they need to escape. I would love to see a fix to this so you could slam the door on the zombies and hunker down inside until they wandered off - that would feel very authentic and satisfying.

Suggestion, Industrial headlamps.

I'd almost feel bad for shooting anyone new enough to use one of these. I've only seen one person use a flashlight, a new guy walking along the road out of Elektro. He was lucky I was too busy finding parts to repair the helicopter. -
Parachutes I think it would be neat if you could parachute out of the helicopter via a scroll wheel option. A friend flies you over a city and everyone bails out as an assault group... As far as I know Arma2 already supports parachutes. Melee Weapons The melee weapons also need their own slot, or some way to equip them instantly without dropping my primary weapon. With the ridiculously high infinite respawn rate of zombies it's a requirement to kill quietly/silently, and this would go a long way toward helping in that regard. (If I can sling my rifle over my shoulder to unholster a pistol, I can definitely hold a hatchet) Pistols not only give away your location to other humans, they're also much harder to get a kill with now that they've been gimped - since zombies majorly lag and teleport. (I've had many unquestionable headshots that didn't register) Back when bodyshots were one-hit kills it wasn't too much of a problem. Personally I would find it more fun if zombies were a fixed amount, and once you clear out an area you wouldn't have to worry about them for another 30 minutes minimum (server adjustable so admins could set it to a max of "dead until server reboot") Zombies Last but not least, zombies mechanics in general need a few fixes after the recent tweaks. Since it's harder to shake them now, they definitely shouldn't be able to sprint after you at 50kph. Max them out at player run speed so that if they're 30m away when you start running, they won't gain on you unless you stop or slow down. Currently if they spot you and you run at full speed away from them, they'll still catch up in a couple seconds, which is ridiculous and annoying. Additionally, they shouldn't be able to walk through fences, doors, and walls anymore - with the new tweaks it's potentially deadly now to have a zombie walk through a wall behind you. I don't mind difficulty, but it has to be properly balanced so it doesn't feel like the game is cheating - especially when it's touted as "realistic".
