    What do you consider "ghosting"?

I'm not arguing one way or another, it's an interesting debate and a good one. Like most questions about morals and ethics, I prefer not to have a formal opinion as it really doesn't matter. I prefer the intricate argument, and having a discussion. Unless they host their own servers, which they may, there won't be many solutions implemented to prevent this from happening. The only thing they could do feasibly is a timer, and perhaps something that tracks, kicks, and even bans for excessive logging, and in comes a whole different argument. As I said, the best solution is a rule set that each server sets up, saying "This is what we consider ghosting here..." and then enforce the rules accordingly. This isn't something you can simply say yes or no to, intent and context are the differences.

DayZ - "Guy who destroyed our camp"

That was a bad move not killing him. =| Also, never keep all your tents and vehicles in the same place. Spread the tents out, and the vehicles further. You're more likely to keep them that way, and at the very least, prevent this kind of mass destruction. Hope you learned something.

    What do you consider "ghosting"?

The OP didn't say he got into position on a low pop server, then immediately logged into a high pop server. From context we can assume he logged off for awhile, 20 minutes, 2 hours, the specifics we don't know, but a later juncture was implied. He has a similar issue to my friend, though in his case he's just wondering about it, vs being falsely accused and having action taken. I really hope this doesn't boil down to 2 sides, that would be a shame. A large portion of those who would say yes would be assumed to be those who are angry over being ghosted, or having what they consider ghosting happen to them, and the majority of those who say no would be assumed to be people who like logging in behind others to gain an advantage or for loot. Even without server hopping, you can still get behind people or get loot to spawn, it's just far more time consuming. The primary differences are, you didn't have to travel and, when logging in, someone has the chance to kill you before you finish loading. There's an easy way of telling. My friends and I do it quite often. You hold position, you watch, you wait. If you see someone sniping unarmed players, you trash them. You also keep in mind that just because someone has a weapon, doesn't mean they're out to get you.
  4. That's not a hack. Your character gets to be in the game before you do anything, and since there's no protection during that time, you're SOL.

    What do you consider "ghosting"?

Everyone here who thinks moving anywhere to get a position is ghosting, lemme ask you a question. Do you run to the coast every time you're about to log off? Do you stay on the same server, 100% of the time? Different servers are there for a reason, you shouldn't be forced to primarily play on a single server if you chose not to. Also, nothing will be able to be done about this, outside of making it impossible to log in a certain radius of structures. You can't stop people from moving around and logging in another server, you can't stop people using the loot spawn mechanics to their advantage. While you may not agree with these things, not much can, or will be done in the mod. Standalone is going to be a different story, but is years away from being available as a full game, if Rocket and BIS is smart anyway. It's definitely a good debate to bring up, I was thinking about this the other day. A friend of mine logged out near his camp site, logged into another server the next day, turns out there was a campsite close by. He went to investigate, got killed, and then banned for ghosting. Now, had this not been the admins camp, this likely wouldn't have occurred, but there we have it. What is best is not to funnel the opinions of such a varied community into simply This or That. The best solution is the multiple servers, with a detailed list of what they consider to be wrong or illicit activity, Other than ghosting in combat, we won't find many issues the community agrees on as a whole. With multiple servers with their own specific and detailed rule set, everyone would find few to call him, and we'd have much less arguing.

    What do you consider "ghosting"?

Ghosting, from what I've gathered, is intentionally logging out and changing your position to get behind someone, or having a friend/friends log in behind where someone killed you to, kill them. Anything beyond this is normal game play. If you follow that kind of logic, the only time you should ever be able to switch servers is after you die and you get spawned on the coast. Whether it's finding a position to counter snipe, getting far enough away for loot to spawn, or just finding a safe place to log out, that, is not ghosting.

[Video] We don't get mad, we get even.

That's how we feel about the situation. Some of the most fun we'd had in awhile.
  8. Hahaha, that poor soul. What a tragedy, what has the world come to these DayZ! Good stuff, it's always interesting when you drive around and play music. Never a dull moment. Never not lulz to be had.

Being an ass with an AS50

If you were raging, you should have done something productive and killed the dick snipers who kill the fresh spawns, instead of becoming one. =|
  10. It's so funny how many people think health regenerating, and in this case regaining blood (Which happens in real life) they find ridiculous, but eating to get your blood back up to full is just fine. It would be much better if the system had an overhaul entirely, where sodas didn't fill your thirst as much, and drinking them made it drain faster. Eating cans of food only slightly filled you up compared to cooked meat. Blood platelets should definitely multiply. If you think it's ridiculous, please find your local bridge and do us a favor. =|
  11. It's not from Call of Duty per say, but real life. If you lose blood, and get bandaged, guess what? You gain that blood back. Science yo.

primary weapon to weapon in bag

All you have to do, as has been said, is switch from the pack, to your inventory. Never go from the inventory, to the backpack. Not for weapons anyway.

    DAYZ BANDIT LIVE STREAM

Twitch could, and would likely ban him from streaming.

    Is it really worth it?

Well, Vilayer hosts a private hive and also hosts the main hive. All of the DayZChernarus servers are the Vilayer private hive, and all their servers share that private hive.
  15. Depending on where you are, you can always gather a horde of zombies, jump off something high, or find a wall to swing your legs back and forth until they break. Broken legs = the ability to respawn.

    Is it really worth it?

If it's on Vilayer,,, you have the option to set how many vehicles spawn, add side chat (Global chat) if you'd like, switch between chernarus and lingor, I'll get my friend who runs a server to add more when he's awake.
  17. Any server with 30+ people lol. There's always action.

    Incognito eSports Recruiting A Squad

Uhh, so nice name. =] I got a team and stuff, wassup?
  19. Also, sorry to go off topic ish here, b ut if you connect into a server before battle eye initializes you get kicked for client not responding. Awesome idea, and I'll pass it on to my server hosting friend.
  20. Yeah, for some reason on updated servers have bicycles that change to motorcycles, and the V3S turns into a bus. ._.
  21. I agree, wind factor would be a good thing to add to DayZ and Arma, that's one good realism factor. To balance out the whining, make it a server option. Same thing with better weather.
  22. nyk_nunya

    Should i buy it ?

I would wait for standalone unless you have the money to burn or get a good price. There won't be very much updating happening while they focus on the standalone, and likely not much more once standalone comes out.
  23. nyk_nunya

Will female skins ever be viable?

I love how they say it will be fixed in standalone as if that's some kind of consolation. It takes very, very little work to rework already made models. It would take someone all of 5 minutes. Not much work is going to be done on the mod, they're working on standalone and will port some things over, but not much. They're at the point where the fun is over, they want money.
  24. nyk_nunya

    DayZ singleplayer removed, but why?

It's more like, if peoplecan play DayZ with their friends and not have to worry about hive issues and hackers, they likely would do that instead of joining servers. It was removed so people would play on the servers, as well as to stop people from playing DayZ their way by adding in other mods, and keep it what Rocket wants.

Large weapons = Loss of backpack...

This. Kind of forgot about the Rocket Launcher lol, and I can confirm the SVD does not take off your backpack. Never got to use it in combat before I lost it though. =/
