  1. I disagree, sure they can hear a bit too well when you're inside buildings (but apparently that will be fixed once 1.7.2 rolls around), however beyond that they're rather decently balanced. They're not the dumbass I can sprint around cherno without aggroing anything zombies they used to be, and they're not the superman zombies of 1.7.1.4. There's always room for tweaking but I'm content with where they are right now, you actually need to sneak to get around without aggroing a zombie or two.
  2. Griefing for griefings sake generally rubs people the wrong way.
  3. Personally I've noticed the faster you're running the game the faster you move. On my old laptop my friend would run almost twice as fast as me, but it could only run the game between 5-15 fps. On my new computer I run faster then my same friend and I'm now running the game between 45-60 fps. I don't know why this happens.
  4. I personally stay far away from six launcher/updater, it tends to break things more often then not for me. Do you have steam or AIM or...something, I can help you troubleshoot.
  5. This. It's obviously an exploit, thankfully the devs are looking into stopping this crap.
  6. I'm one of them :D I remember when I found it, I was just walking past another soda can on the ground then I stopped and was like....wait that's green. It's precious to me now.
  7. I apologize that the game is too hard for you. Might I suggest something along the lines of hello kitty island adventure?
  8. That sound you're hearing is a collective sigh of relief from the community :P
  9. Do you mean the game defaulted to Russian language for you? If so the middle option of the title screen is options. Second to last option after that is game options (one up from the bottom) then the top box there is the language slider. If you mean the roadsigns are in Russion, well that's just how it is.
  10. The most fun I ever had with this game was a few days ago. I just didn't care, I spawned, grabbed the first gun I could find then shot my way through whatever zombies I could find. I lasted about an hour, I started in elektro, moved to prig, then into cherno. Just using all the ammo and all the guns I could find on my rampage. I finally got overrun in the apartments in northern cherno after the only gun I could find was a lee enfield...and well...that just made everything in cherno mad at me haha. Got 191 zombie kills in about an hour, and I didn't worry about a damn thing, just having fun. I think the problem with the hardcore community is we (I'd say they, but I'm part of it) get so obsessed with these things that we forget to take a step back, relax and just enjoy a game as a game and sod the consequences. I love hardcore and realistic games as much as the next guy. The more real a game is the better to me. However, you can't stay in hardcore mode 24/7 or else you're going to lose sight of the fun that pulled you in in the first place. It's a hobby we do because we enjoy it, sometimes we just seem to forget that. Just might 2 cents.
  11. It's a rare sight right now is all. I still give everyone the benefit of the doubt even after weeks of DayZ. Unless they give me immediate cause to assume they're hostile. I've put plenty of people down before they even saw me because of things like looting a dead body after I heard shots, etc etc. However I also help people out all I can. Just the other day I was in kamyshovo, ran into a guy with nothing but a hatchet on the docks. I greeted him, he greeted me back asked where I was. I told him, he informed me he had nothing of value besides that hatchet. I didn't plan on killing him anyway. However I did have a makarov in my backpack that I wasn't using, so I walked over to him and dropped it. He could've easily killed me with the hatchet if he wanted to. He could've easily shot me in the back with the makarov afterwards as I just wished him the best and turned to walk away. He did neither of these things, he simply thanked me for the makarov and ammo, wished me the same and we parted ways. Friendlies are few and far between, but they're out there. Turning into the people that shoot first ask questions later just makes the problem you complain about worse. You'll end up shooting someone that was just like you, and that'll be their last straw and the vicious cycle continues. Sure I die often enough because I gave the person enough time to get the first shot in, but loot can be regained, and the reward for when you find that friendly is another gun watching your back when shit does hit the fan. A trustworthy partner in DayZ will always be worth the risk of whatever equipment I have on me. To me at least.
  12. Well too bad? I'm sorry that playing with other people in a multiplayer game designed to be played with a lot of other people makes it unfun for you. Sounds like this game isn't for you.
  13. Would it not be possible to design interiors for much of the current houses that are already on the map? Or can he not play around with the map at all?
  14. Do not know. I only found this out by collecting the ammo, did not have a double barrel on me at the time.
  15. Yeah you can only do it when you have 4 stacks. Just right click on one of them in your inventory and there will be an option along the lines of, "Combine to 8 rounds."
  16. When you have 4 stacks of 2 rounds you can combine them to make a single stack of 8 rounds.
  17. Makes a topic crying and bitching. Calls everyone else butthurt. Hmmmmmmmm
  18. Never. That's when you should crouch now. You make too much noise, you'll pull half the town from slowly walking while crouched. And if you go up stairs, god help you with the amount of noise you make doing that.
  19. As someone who should have a heartbeat when looked at my friends tell me they don't get one when they put their cursor over me. So it seems to not be working that great.
  20. Ah good old Asherons Call. Good times, good times indeed. My first real experience into the MMO world. I had played MUDs before that but it's a different experience really.
  21. Are you implying that my post was not intelligent or rational? I'm sorry was it only implied? I meant to say in a rather matter of fact way that it's inane childish ranting.
