It varies. I'm in the Cherno Police Department, and we're just a rag tag bunch, started with me and my mate, and over time I've met players, befriended them and it's built from there. As an example, one of the group members was on side chat asking for help as he hadn't played the game before. Rather than shooting him like most people would, I met him, gave him a gun (I do that a lot) and walked him through a raid on Cherno. He was a complete noob. He's now absolutely fucking deadly - probably better than me :D The advice I can give is, try being nice to people, try and meet via side chat, try not to shoot on sight... BUT expect bad things to happen to you. This is Day Z afterall... And if you see the Police - you better do what they say - they're harsh but fair (most the time) :D

As an admin I play with these players and can absolutely say they don't hack. We were killed yesterday in the airfield, by a helicopter after a long fight and the best gun any of us had was an AK74. If any of us were "duping" that helicopter would have crashed - pretty quickly.

Survivors: say "NO" to peripheral dots. Peripheral dots are known to massively decrease the odds on you keeping your hidden vehicle hidden and are rumoured to lower realism as well as confuse the shit out of new players. Cracking night's gaming last night, got us a rag tag squad of 6, got multiple vehicles, an apache - btw, I'd love to know who we were shooting at outside elektro with the copter, he/she ran and dodged and weave for so long from the copter's gun fire, we let him/her live (they earned it!!!), got revenge on Cat and Gerry in a fantastic set up and even had time to shoot weasel when he was trying to use the toilet. (Sorry mate, was guarding something). May have killed a few more players than I usually do, but it's back to being Nice Mr B now, the one who gives out guns to bambis!

^^^^^ Problem with that is it becomes a chore and a risk. How's this - I'll pay the direct debit or whatever it is, and I'll knock up a site where you can donate via paypal. This way, Panda's covered - doesn't have to worry about enough cash coming in, I don't mind paying it all if no one else donates - and for those who want to chip in, they have an option.

Whilst playing on FR 16 (37.59.229.103:2302) last night (02/11/12) at about 7pm - 7.30pm (gmt), the following happened: "So we're playing Day Z. A bloke in a Ghillie suit teleports infront of me and a friend. He ignores me and runs at my mate. I unload 3 clips in him. Constant blood, but he doesn't drop. He's shooting my friend and is so blasé about it, I walk around him, open his bag and take his spare gun with 3 clips. I empty one into him and he teleports off. Two minutes later (after bandaging up) he reappears, this time I put fraps on. I don't last long, but you can see I empty enough into him to drop him. Ragggh. Angry face." Oh well, this has lead me and a few mates to chip in and get our own (private hive) server. Hopefully we can get some players on and cut this bullshit to a minimum!
