So, i found a L85AWS at a Helicopter Crash but there was invisible ammo with it that I could not pick up and I got an error message before I opened my gear menu. Is the ammo currently in the game?

Never make that noise again. Please. You hurt the dolphins. The poor, zombified dolphins.

Best loot you have gotten from a dead player? How excited where you?
Dementia (DayZ) replied to zack4209's topic in New Player Discussion
First dead player I ever found had a GPS, NVGS, and a M107 -
You should have a .cmd in your Arma II Operation Arrowhead called DayZbeta. Double click on that and it launches Arma II Combined Operations beta.

Cigerette lighters, read on, better suggestion then you may think.

I find AK-74's all the time. Thinking spawn rate would be more like .11% residential spawn. -
Designated areas, kinda like a house
Dementia (DayZ) replied to BurritoBandit's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Agreed, having a little bit of home decoration is just what this game needs :D No seriously, I like this idea. -
Okay, what I had to do to fix this problem was I had to reinstall DayZ manually, by downloading it from the mirror and launching it from the beta patch instead of from six launcher.

Try reinstalling from the manual download mirrors, I had to do that and it fixed it for me. -
Best way to survive new to dayz

Might wanna put a thing on here about shiftclicking on a map on certain servers and it drops a marker so you can get to places more easily, I didnt know until playing for 3 weeks o.o -
Venting, feel free to ignore: entire villages with "fake" houses.
Dementia (DayZ) replied to HedonismBot's topic in New Player Discussion
I agree with this, its insanely annoying to walk into a town and every single bloody building except one be non-lootable. I swear, 90% of the buildings in this game you can't enter. Now before someone tells me YOU JUST HAVENT BEEN PLAYING FOR LONG ENOUGH, I've been playing for 5 weeks now and I'm still annoyed at it. -
I found this weird gun ingame, I found it in the barracks and its called the MK16 CCO SD and I found it in a regular spawn point on the Barracks bathroom floor. It seems like a regular weapon ingame and I went to several different servers and wasnt banned in Battleeye. My friend was telling me this was probably a hacked weapon, but it has an ingame model and description. Can anyone help?

No gun at respawn? Impossible for beginners
Dementia (DayZ) replied to kenny4587's topic in New Player Discussion
This guy is probably a troll, but here is my method when im REALLY REALLY having trouble finding gear. Part ONE: Join a server with 25 person cap. Part TWO: Run to the office building in Electro Part Three: If you find a gun, have a happy dance, if you dont try and find flares and then go join a night server. The chances of you finding a gun on a night server are much higher considering there are less people that play at night. Also, its easier to run away and hide from zombies because they cant see as well at night. -

Hey guys, Dementia here and i've been wondering; are sniper rifles REALLLLLY rare or am I just really unlucky? I've been searching for a DMR for about 5 hours now and went to the NW airfield and went through it about three times, but no luck. I found 3 M4A1 CCO's, and a BUNCH of AKM's, one Remington w/Flashlight, a M1010 shotgun, and NVG's but NO sniper rifles. Do they just have a rarer spawn rate or am I just REALLY unlucky?

Zombies -9000 Blood Knockout overpowered
Dementia (DayZ) posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Im having a bit of a problem in DayZ, I just lost Rangefinders, NVGS, M4A1 CCO, Silenced MP5, Silenced M9, the best backpack AND a car because a zombie attacked me when I had 8900 hp, and his friends came along and killed me. Does this not seem overpowered to anyone else? -
Zombies -9000 Blood Knockout overpowered
Dementia (DayZ) replied to Dementia (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Im not trying to say NERF ZOMBIES TOO OP LOLOLOL im trying to say that maybe Rocket should make the knockdown at around 6000 blood because it really isnt very fair that because I just BARELY was low enough I died and lost all the gear I had worked hard to get because of something thats (dare i say) overpowered? If they wanted to buff zombies, they should have made them do more damage like 400-500 a hit instead of 200. Edit: And the only reason I lone-wolf it is because I dont have a microphone to engage in teamspeak and everyone i've met ingame has either A) tried to kill me or B) killed me. If anyone wants to play w/ me PM? (wink) :) I'd do this, but I was somewhere at the VEEERY northern part of the map. -
Hotfix Build 1.7.1.5 Rolling Update
Dementia (DayZ) replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Rocket, is there any better way to balance the prone because you are moving SLOWER than crouchwalking which makes you able to be seen but not heard but when proning you can be heard louder than crouchwalking and can be seen two bars harder. Is there any way to better balance this? -
Tactic to help with this: Kneecap them so they cant run then ask friendly, thats what I do.

Am I the only one that loves the new stealth features? I love em, because it makes you have PATIENCE in playing.

A How To: Traversing the Land of Chernarus and You!
Dementia (DayZ) posted a topic in New Player Discussion
Hello everyone, my name is Dementia otherwise known as Captain Shoeboats ingame, and I have noticed a large amount of people begging the question of HOW TO do this and HOW TO do that. Im just going to write up a guide here on how to traverse and loot and survive the land of Chernarus. Part One: Traversing the Land. The land of Chernarus can be brain explodingly awesome to some people when they first start the game. Other people who are less familiar with the scene will probably freak out at how large the landscape is. If you want to traverse the land properly, you will need to find a MAP and/or a COMPASS. These items will be vital to your survival in the wilderness. If you are pro, and have played the game a large amount then the roads and landmarks will be familiar to you. Once you find a map or a compass you need to remember that spacially the map does NOT represent where you are. For instance, I once thought I was in Zelenogorsk, but nope I was in Stary Sobor. I hadnt gone far enough Northwest to get there. Also, why I said either/or for a Compass is because if you can get your hands on one you can get an external map from http://www.arma2.com/arma-2-chernarus/map-of-chernarus_en.html Part Two: LOOTING! One of the most fun and satisfying parts of this game apart from mowing down zombies and shooting players is the sheer amount of LOOT! Grenades, machine guns, shotguns, rifles, binoculars, food, water, coke/pepsi, ammo of all the rainbow, NVGS (night vision goggles), rangefinders, GPS's, cars, helicopters and MORE. To loot, you simply press the G key and click the right arrow beside the item to pick it up. If you want to drop something, you either click drop OR click on the left arrow to drop it. Easy, right? Some new players to the game do not understand that the backpack is a seperate inventory to the main inventory you use for main weapons and sidearms. If you get a better backpack, you can store more things in it. This functions when if you are out of a loot spot you can double click on the backpack and put things in your regular inventory, or when you are on a loot spot you can double click on the backpack, open it up, and store whatever you need into it. Also, it is worth noting that the backpack can store weapons, like for example on my character I have a G17 and a Crowbar in my backpack while carrying around an AKS-74 Cobra and M9 SD Part 3: Zombies, and how they want to eat you. One of the things you may notice when you start up the game is that on the side of the screen you have a hunger bar, thirst bar, and a temperature bar. Above those, you notice an eye and an ear with however many little half-circles next to them. The more half-circles you have next to the ear, the easier you are to be heard by zombies (and players, not sure if this is 100% true though) and when the half-circles are greater in number next to the eye the easier you are to be seen by zombies. Which brings me to my next segment... Part 4: Stealth, and how to do it right. Sometimes when I watch videos of people playing DayZ I want to shout at my screen STOP F**ING CROUCH RUNNING IN THE MIDDLE OF ELECTRODAVOSK. So heres the deal. When you are upright and running, you are the easiest to see and the easiest to hear. When you are upright and walking (press shift our double tap shift to toggle) You are less easy to hear than crouch-running but easy to see. When crouch-running you are easier to hear than upright-walking but harder to see. When crouch-walking you are harder to see AND hear. When prone, your hearing is generally set at nothing and your sight is set at one. You generally when in cities and small towns it is IMPERATIVE that you stay in prone. Before you start screaming OHMYGODIMMOVINGSOSLOWLY you should ask yourself: Would I rather be dead? The key to DayZ is PATIENCE. You need insane amounts of patience to play this game properly. Also, something not a large amount of people pay attention to on the left, right, top and bottom of your screen white dots may appear. This is signifying to you where zombies and players are, and how close. PAY. ATTENTION. TO. THESE. Part 5: Zombie Noises, and You! Zombies make specific noises when they are chasing after you and when they are just meandering around. Listen to these noises, and PAY. ATTENTION. Because if you dont you could get sprung on by a jack in the box zombie screaming SURPRISE!!! Part 6: Cars and Helicopter(s) Cars and Helicopters are hard to make, unless you have a lot of time and not a large amount of zombies near you. Here is a guide on how to make these, how many spaces the parts take up, and what to look for. Thank you for reading my guide, please leave a suggestion for more parts I could potentially add or just leave positive or negative feedback on what you think of it. Thank you for reading :) -

In my personal opinion, I believe people that ALT-F4 should instantly have that character removed. Also, if you are bleeding and you leave for a long period of time your character should be dead or have lost a significant amount of blood. -
