Its an alpha. People should stop making the same 5 threads, see this one, 10 times an hour and instead add to the old ones or start some fresh discussion. Beyond being a bore to read the forums because of this, it shows little more than the people here playing as 'alpha testers' clearly should have listened when they were told repeatedly not to buy the game until full release. Not to mention the point that 'its an ALPHER' is more than adequate to cover 90% of all topics posted.

If it works the same as the mod then you should be able to go pickup the items on a new character so long as the server has not reset. I have not tested this though.

Have you ever read these forums. This is the minuscule percent of the population who actually voice their opinions and, if nothing, its more than clear a good percentage of the players are beyond retarded and don't really deserve to have their opinions taken into consideration. That is just the forums, now imagine the people who play the game without coming here or to the reddit sub and you are telling me they should have any influence over the global server rules. As far as I'm concerned if you want 24/7 day time play private or play on l servers in a different time zone but if you want to play the game the way Rocket intends it to be played then get over the fact that you can't just have what you want because it would be convenient for you. This is the time where the dev team needs to lay down the rules are start stringent enforcement of them or public hive will just be a big mess like the mod is.

Hope the hero vest gets added to SA. High ballistics protection but provides little/no extra capacity.

How will flying work? Simulator or Arcade?

In terms of controls I hope the flying remains the same as it is really well done and probably better than most flight sims. In terms of starting and stopping the helicopter each type should have the same procedures as their real life counterparts, assuming different types of heli are used in the SA like there is in the mod. -
Wait for a server to restart, go to big hospital, find 4 Mosins. They aren't rare, you just aren't looking in the right places or you are arriving long after he good loot gets taken.

If you thought he would remove 1 shot kills in a game that strives for realism and authenticity then you are retarded. Chances are you got shot in the face or the helmet you had was ruined and therefore didn't actually stop the bullet as the ballistic helmets can stop a 762 round from 1 shotting in the head.

Wow, yet another topic on an issue that has had an official response since day 1 of alpha. There is a system, it is no yet implemented, it will likely be the same one as the mod, it will be implemented when Rocket feels it should be.

They, like many topics which should have their own subs, seem to go here. Agree this should be a thing. I already tried to hotbar the bipod and was disappointed that it did nothing.

Arma 2 has a system that allows users to use their won custom skins. DayZ could use a similar system where players can use their own custom skin and apply it using a camo paint thing (not sure if they have a special name)

Day Z Standalone (My First Experience)

One indisputable lie kinda ruins the credibility of the rest of the story -
I doubt it would fit any less that the UK Assault Vest. As for the Russian gas mask, I assume we will eventually be able to make weapons that will give gas masks an effective use and just having the Russian ones do a shit job of protecting you would probably solve that issue.

You're to incompetent to do even the slightest reading and you think you deserve even the slightest bit of help let alone having a dev waste their time telling you whether something you could have figured out by just thinking about it for even a second, is a bug? top kek -
Instead of a set class system I think having roles that you 'level' over time would be better. If you act as a medic and heal people then you become more efficient at it, so you may use less of a bandager per use or become quicker at applying them and things like that. You should also lose all of these skills on death as it would give more of a reason to want to keep you character and there might be a reason to actually submit of people robbing you instead of just trying, and usually failing, to killing them or trying to run away because as it stands the value of a character is determined entirely by the gear they have.

Too many barracks and Stary Sobor tents [appeal]

You are forgetting about all the T2 baracks. Add like another 6 or so to that count. They also have better loot that the T1 so in terms of loot its probably like 9 or 10 more baracks -

The problem is limited features and no reason to let someone rob you since your gear is all your character really is. When we get more things, like cars and radios and a reason not to let your character die even if you lose all your gear then there may be a reason to actually submit to robbers and people might actually try it instead of just killing you. Also because everyone is full geared when they leave the coast all there is left to do in the game is go around killing people. Its not even like they are going to get the gear because of the disappearing bodies on disconnects its just a case of looking for something to do, other than actually searching for bugs, in an early alpha with incredibly limited features. -
Would you rather it handle like Counter Strike? Where everyone glides around and weapon swaps are practically instant. It just isn't right for DayZ. You can't just pull things out of your pockets or off your back instantly and TBH its too fast at the moment in a lot of cases as things stored in a backpack shouldn't take the same amount of time to grab as something in your jacket pockets. I will admit that unbreakable animations and door/ladder prompts are awkward but hopefully these are things that will be resolved as the game develops. One thing I would like to see fixed is the aiming. Removal of acceleration and proper balancing of X:Y ratio would resolve those issues for me.

So arma 3 has 9 different stances the player can be in: High, medium and low; standing, crouched and prone. They are probably one of my favourite additions for Arma 3 and I think they would fit quite nicely into DayZ. They would add a new way to interact with cover (such as peaking over certain props without having to make yourself completely obvious) and its not unrealistic to expect civilians to use different stances when using different types of cover. Short walls, for example, are too tall to prone behind but crouching would be completely obvious so a sitting (high prone) or low crouching position would be significantly better. In all honesty I would be content with just a static sitting stance to get the benefit of a more stable shooting position without having my vision obscured by all that awkwardly heighted grass.

Never checked the types of shells I found but I think there were slugs and pellets so I imagine the first shotgun will be the Remington or something similar.
