Not sure if this is a server issue or a game issue....friend and I were running north. Every ten minutes or so, the server would freeze. We could move our view, but couldn't move ourselves. We had to alt+f4 to get out (task manager wouldn't pull up, either). When we logged back in to the same server, we'd be pushed back a few minutes. Like we'd make it to almost Dolina and be pushed back to just outside Staryoe. After several times of this happening, we gave up for the night. Is this a server thing? Or is this a bug happening on other servers as well?

Due to financial situations, I will sadly be closing my dayz server. It will shut down next week. Please move all your camps, etc., to a different server. My apologizes. Thanks!

After a long delay due to hosting issues, US 3370 has finally been upgraded to the latest version of DayZ. This has deleted all of your stuff on the server, and my apologies for not advance warning on that. Please let me know if there are any issues. Thanks!

This guy was pretty smart. The only thing that shows up in my logs is him logging in. But then the idiot had a full blown conversation with other players peddling his wares. He apparently charges people for hacking in shit for them. His guid is 6c8e4977851cea2e53a05edab7cad2f8, goes by the name Jimmy. I also banned mr. dayzassassin (48c6dd914ede227a2fede42efb025eea) and mr. walking refridgerator (1d0c637cf33a84caf5ba2001e8d73d95). Snippets of the conversation:

If a server restarts, flattened tents will disappear. It's a possibility that someone took your vehicles and flattened your tents and then the server restarted. However, there can also be a server bug where no vehicles or tents will show and that takes a server restart to fix.

Been out for a few weeks, finally back and updated my server. What is atp in my public variable log? I got that a lot last night.

Blah. No one knows? People I ban for hacking in other logs have it multiple times, while a lot of other people only have it a few times. Anyone have an answer?

Your ban is only related to that server. Just find another server to play on.

Your server host needed the username and password to get in to the server you're renting from them? Can you reset the server completely?

Okay, I found the script that I banned you for, and after a lot of looking into it, it looks like it's something that is occasionally thrown into the remoteexec.log when you hide a body. I've unbanned you. (This pertains to Trevor, not Docholiday, who still hasn't answered my questions.) Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'll look at yours when i get home from work. And we aren't a private hive, so we can't white list. We like having a public server so that as a clan, we can move back and forth between our home server and others. I'm glad you've had a good experience so far. Admin ban means that i manually banned you in game, either because of something i saw or read in chat, but i don't remember a trevor. It's entirely possible that i clicked on the wrong person. But i will check.

I pm'd you. Docholiday was on my server, hacking last night, and I banned him. I'm wondering, if you say all things have been restored, as to how your account was hacking last night, how you found out it was banned last night from, of all servers, mine. Things aren't quite adding up....

I have the same problems with my server, and they tell me the same thing. To switch beta versions and it will fix it...but I've tried so many different beta versions, and here's a list of my server ups and downs: http://arma2.swec.se/server/data/279941 Do other servers not have this same issue? Edit: I've been on HFB for months and didn't have too many problems until this....though I have had to reset my server 3 or 4 times because of serious issues.

Only fix is to have the server restarted. I would suggest playing on a different server for the night. Hopefully the server is either set to restart at a regular time or the admin will see this and restart it.

Some problems I had at the beginning: make sure your server is up to date. Sometimes, you'll have a beta version that isn't compatible with the dayz version. Make sure your server name matches what you actually have installed. Make sure that if you installed any updates, you turned off your server first so you didn't eff things up. Make sure your server was actually completely set up before you turned it on. Some server hosts, you log into your admin stuff before the server is actually ready. If you do things then, it screws things up. Read your server hosts FAQs and knowledge sections. Dayz servers aren't the easiest to host... If you're still having issues, open a ticket with your server. Or post here where you rent from and maybe someone who has the same host can give specific instructions.

Nope. Only admins can. If you know there's abuse going on, video record it and post it here so others can stay off that server, and then find yourself a new server.

That isn't weird, it's normal. Connecting to DayZ takes a LOT of bandwidth. If you're internet isn't great (speed or quality), you can't multi-task on your internet when you're connecting to a server.

You ever run a ping while you're loading to see what kind of packet loss you're getting? Connection lost is either a) the server restarting or second, you losing your connection to the server, either through the server fault or your own internet. Run a continuous ping while you're loading and see what it does. Also, make sure you are NOT loading servers on dayz commander at the same time as a flood to your internet, causing a drop, is quite common with dayz commander.
