Confirming I've alone found 3 L85s in 3 days. Seem to be pretty much 25% chance on a heli crash site. If you hang around stary and novy, you'll have one of these in 2 days. However, this weapon, while way too common (btw the svd camo is the rarest gun in the game), is the only counter currently we have to campers. I should know as I'm one. There is no way to find me or spot me without the L85A without extreme dumb luck, and anyone I see in almost 180 degree radius is as good as dead as it's a highly busy area inland I'm often camping. Just ask the 5 people who died from 1 shot each from 750 meters today without even having the chance to D/C. I use the L85A to spot, others should use it to spot me.

Every time I log in my char he stumbled down and the long ass timer appears. I'm on 9k blood and don't have shock, am not disconnecting with shock and not doing any repeated server hopping. Every single time :(

Unfortunately a lot of people hide stuff off the map because they're scared to play the game properly. Those of us with balls larger than acorns just find a nice forest area away from high-traffic areas. As of today that is no longer possible. Of map hording has been fixed. Please elaborate. Linky?

As far as I know dayz is running a database script looking for players with non-allowed gear in their bags or person. How and what it results in, is not my knowledge, but as far as I know, it's a ban.

using it makes no difference. Any consequence comes from having the gun on your person, back pack or inventory. Once it's there, you're done. However, database bans only affect weapons that should not be in the mod. Weapons that have been spawned but are legit DayZ weapons are, as far as I know, indifferentiable from the non-spawned legit copies of the weaponn. So you should be safe to use the AS50 as it's a DayZ weapon. If I'm wrong, you're already going to get banned for having it, using it makes no difference.

Might I just ask how you're storing all these guns. Seems a bit far fetched to assume you have a campsite set up that you're willing to leave unattended to go off n join a squad. Then you're advertising what good gear you have, on the forums of all places. Don't you think people might get in contact with you just to off you and take your weapons, especially the m4 sd? cuz that was my initial reaction to reading your post. Then again it's a trap isn't it? Argh my paranoia meter is going bust.

They can restart, lock and change the population cap. That's about it. They can't roll back "saves" or kill people or teleport or fly or none of that shiat. Not to say it's wouldn't be possible via hacking scripts etc but anyone can do those, not just admins.

Yesterday and most of this morning I can enter any server no prob as most all are running the 94364. Suddenly now tho, most are running 93825 and any of the last 4 late beta patches, with a handful running the newest 94444. What the heck did I miss?

Weirdest thing. Our group has found a few svd camos during the past a few weeks and every time we've gotten one, it has changed in to the original weapon it was switched with in our bags. Today I found one on a guy I had shot just before, and I switched my dmr out. Well I do a relog about 5 minutes after and find that everything else I picked up from the body is still there, but the svd camo is now a dmr. I track my way back to the body to check it again and the body still has my dmr on it. This exact same thing has happened every time anyone of us has found a svd_camo. What gives?

I'd be interested in this deal for an m107 and a few clips or an sd m4. But then again I just lost my nvgs...

I have a couple of questions I wonder about: Did you take time to scout out the store from afar? Did you check for spawns / movement? If so for how long? Did you take care to make as little sound as possible and as much cover as possible when approaching the store? Did you use the store windows to check the rooms before entering the store? Even the back side has windows. Did you check your corners by leaning when you got to the doorway? Did you do the same when changing rooms? This game is not about who has time to react, it's about who sees who first. If you just ran in a store and got shot, you failed at understanding this concept and should take time to realize that minimizing the risk of being seen, and maximizing the ability to see others are the keys to survival. Don't assume the store is empty. Know it is.

I know a spawn location of 2 atvs, pretty well hidden and it's not listed anywhere either. Checked 5 servers in a row and all had the same atvs there. Keep the info to yourself man. Revealing this stuff will just dull out the surprises.

Ye I had that happen to me as well couple weeks back. It's a hacker killing everyone on the serv.

So I've been doing some practice shooting in the arma 2 editor and the DMR is zeroed precisely to 300 at zero dots. However the DayZ wiki is insisting it's zeroed at 400. Have the values been changed since Operation Arrowhead / DayZ?

Aspect ratio I can understand kinda, doesn't it still affect the targets as much as the scope and mil-dots themselves? Even if your aspect ratio screws with the targets, it would screw the cross hair the same amount, canceling themselves out? FOV then only allows you to see more, it doesn't screw with the scope or targets at all does it?

I tested out the mil-dot ranges zoomed and unzoomed on the dmr. Ranges are: Unzoomed: 0-mil 175 1-mil 400 2-mil 600 3-mil 800 4-mil approx 935 Zoomed 0-mil 300 1-mil 425 2-mil 500 3-mil 575 4-mil 650 All of these were tested on 25-meter basis, moving back and forth until a reliable head shot range was found, except in the case of unzoomed 3 and 4 mils because of the scope sway and too small target. I'll make a vid about it and link it here for those of who stumble upon this thread by googling and make a new thread on it as well later on.

For me it's having this setup NVGs/GPS/L85A2 AWS (thermal and nv scope)/M107/Coyote pack/Ghillie/Map/Compass/Knife/Matches. After that I'll only find humor from man hunting til I get bored or die and start over. I'm going good sice I'm on -/-/x/-/-/x/x/x/x/x already :)

I currently have the CO version installed on steam. Been enjoying for weeks. However I find myself in need of having another character. Obviously I could just use another steam account on the same comp and just re-buy everything. But instead I would prefer to use the arma 2 free version, and buy a non-steam version of the operation arrowhead. Would there be any issues having 2 characters this way, one being a full steam version and other being half free, external to steam version?
