So I normally play this game solo, I have a few bros who play it with me on occasion but they are hardcore into the wow arena scene and are often doing that. Soo the vast majority of the time im wandering about doing my solo thing. An interesting thing happened earlier today on us server 1581 its a daytime server and normally has a population of around 30-40 people. I was doing my normal daily sweep down through elektro when i start hearing the thumping of helicopter blades. This has happened a few times before a group of 5 guys managed to get a chopper up and running on the server and they frequently buzz the major cities and snipe down anyone they see and move on. I had an ak-47 with no ammo and was out on the roof of the hospital looking for a camping bag. So i had no where to run. I looked up at the helicopter and first off noticed it was full of guys.. then i noticed something else.. a stream of blood coming from what appeared to be the pilot. As they were flying around and circling back around to take me out I figured i didnt have anything to lose. I pointed my makarov at the helicopter looking with dismay at my ammo counter of 1 round. I waited for them to get close strafing side to side avoiding the incoming gun fire.. i pointed at the pilot and let the round fly... nothing happened at first.. i then noticed my murder count went up by 1... shortly afterwards the helicopter spins out of control and flys into the buildings to the north of the hospital and i see. Douche 1 has died Douche 2 has died Douche 3 has died Douche 4 has died. I only got the one murder onto my debug monitor. It took me a couple of minutes after i got done laughing and about 5-6 other nearby people started laughing over direct communication that i put together what had happened. My one round must of been a clean headshot on an already wounded pilot that had forgotten to bandage himself before they started flying. I was streaming at the time this happened to so an audience of 62 saw it happen. the problem is how rampant duping and such has gotten in this mod version. I personally feel that if they could make it so the extremely high grade weapons like the AS50 and such would be extremely low and rare spawns maybe once a week on any particular server and make the ammo for them just as rare it would bring alot of the "scary" into the game and really make people THINK before pulling out that as50. Shotguns,, small side arms (g17 is an excellent choice to have as a common weapon especially if the game were to take place in any major city in the us as the glock in general is widely.. WIDELY used amongst law enforcement here)... and maybe even to an extent something like a ar-13 or AK47 could be considered average weapons... a low grade bolt action hunting rifle could be considered common as well depending where you are in the world. keep things like thermal vision.. ghillie suits..high powered rifles and explosives rare(though honestly im for the g-suits being common but things like camo and such should be waaaay more common then they are).

honestly at this point i just get on to troll people via voice comms in the major cities.... i cant take the game seriously until the stand alone comes out or they do a complete hive wipe

i spend 90% of my time on night servers, it prevents alot of the retardedness you see going on most of the servers

seeing a helicopter at its natural spawn in working condition.

id personally like to see servers that have no thermals... no ghilie suits and no high powered sniper rifles.. everything else im fine with.

best way to get back humanity is to go raid a hospital and run around a major city carrying a boat load of blood bags and no weapon and anytime you see anyone scream at them to hang on a second so you can give them some blood....

there is nothing left to say.. when people know someone wont reach across the table and slap them in the face like they probably deserve they will do whatever the hell they please, everyone else be damned they dont really care. However put them into a position where the other person could indeed slap them in the face and they will behave like little angels.

Has this been happening to everyone since the new patch? Every time i die now i spawn INSIDE A HOUSE (a none enterable one) at novy sobor (or whatever that town is called east of starry). Just started happening today when i installed the new version. I mean im not complaining :P its just a hop skip and a jump away from starry so i have been getting damn near full sets of tools and really good primary weapon just within a couple of minutes of spawning but i think its a bug =/

^this but in general people tend to be very impatient. I think day z is great for what it is. But i think its pretty obvious that even with promises of better times ahead from interviews and such I think its safe to say that day-z has hit its "prime" as it is right now and while im sure its going to have a dedicated following for a long time to come its going to fade from the main bulk of the public's eye unless the stand alone comes sooner rather then later.

i hear what your sayin bro.... best advice i can give is to back off the game until the stand alone comes out... or "the war z" closed beta that ppl will get access to for pre ordering is due out later this month.

yea.. if i just dont wanna deal with hackers i go on a lower population server no more then 25 people.. less action overall but still enough to make it entertaining in the usual spots.

honestly finding sinper rifles and gunning down basically everyone i see from max range is all thats keeping me going. I really hope the stand alone is awesome because even if its not the war z is starting to look better all the time.

i can r un into cherno/electro on a high population server and do whatever it is i want and not get killed by snipers. Honestly im far more worried about the guy who has an m16 more then i am the guy with the AS50. In order for a sniper to function you must provide him a target. 90% of everyone who uses a sniper rifle in this game is >>ASS<< terrible with it anyways. Keep moving, if you must provide a target make it minimal, dont back light yourself and figure out where the common areas these snipers like to sit are. There are several streams on twitch.tv that are basically just snipers doing their thing, go watch them for awhile and get a feel for how they operate then figure out how to make their plans go to shit.

how is this an ironman challenge? Go do it with whatever gear you have with as many bros as you can gather? A real one would be on a high population server do that exact same course alone with only a crowbar to defend yourself. Then after doing the cost you must cross the map on both diagonals.

Pretty sure this sort of issue is being addressed in the stand alone whenever they decide to put that out but hey whatever its the internet ill bitch if i want to. So I decided earlier today that i wanted to go ahead and get my bandit skin. So naturally my goals for the day are. 1) Get DMR 2) Go to elektro 3) Go to high population server. 4) Use DMR I decide to not be a total dick about it and to only pick off targets that were well armed and to leave people that appeared to be fresh spawns to their business. I decided i would not even loot the bodies i would create so that fresh spawns could roll into town and get some easy loot. First 15 minutes i get 5 murders pretty straight forward headshots all the way through and then it begins to happen. If this wouldnt happen I would of left that server with about 30 murders.. after my first 5 every.. single... one.. of them aborted out on me so the murders did not count. Funny enough MOST of those were people in ghillie suits. I personally have found a g-suit about five or six times. I have never once alt f4'd my way out of a death. The way i see it a g-suit an as50.. basically all the gear in this game is meant to be passed on at some point. In my opinion if i get killed while i have a g-suit and other high end equipment unless it was to some sort of goofy bug then shame on me I should of been more careful. However it would seem that I am very much a minority in this. After those first 5 kills over the next two hours every single person i sniped down just simply aborted. This is a great game this entire mod has been a fantastic experiment. When me and a few buddies get on its great fun for hours even if we end up having a net loss of a day just being out in the middle of no where and seeing someone in your group go down and the brief panic that ensues afterwards as you try to figure out what is going on is great. Even better is when that group that got the ambush on you ends up on the other side of the ambush an hour or so later when you and your buddies regroup. Good times.. great times... trading stary sobor back and forward lots of fun. But its amazing how fast that fun can turn to frustration when people use something like this abort exploit. I am confident that this is something that is going to be fixed for the stand alone, however its bugs like this that can completely obliterate a game's community. In a game like this dying and losing all of your equipment is just part of the experience. When a player or group of players learn how to bypass that it just sucks the life out of the room. There have been several nights where me and my friends simply just say "screw it" after a few incidents like this or when every server we go to turns into a hacker jackoff session. We are all confident this wont happen in the stand alone but if it does.. well i can say with alot of feeling that day z will die. These kinds of things are okay for now but when people actually start paying money for your product and have this sort of issue unless its jumped on really quick its a death sentence. I also dont wanna be "that guy" but day z did get alot of attention and while certain other games are coming out (the war z) that are claiming to offer the same experience except "better" even if it isnt actually a better game if they have a more stable and secure setup they will come out on top.

id use the as50 alot myself but ill be damned if i can ever get my hands on one for any length of time. DMRs i seem to get all the time and it gets the job done but id love to get an AS50 with a few magazines...
