    Banned from US 1337, why?

    Then what the hell should I do? How do I know this is not a global ban?
  2. So I join US 1337, and I get banned by Battleeye. And my thought was: Lolwut? Can't a man sneak through elecktro without being bothered? I was just pl;anning on heading up tot he NW airfeilds. I would like to have the ban removed, and also, I would like to know WHY I was banned.
  3. I was pointing out that if they can not get their shit right, then maybe they can make their own anti cheat and not need that crappy battle eye. Or they could make one that works with battle eye.
  4. Alright, so I have a suggestion, why not remove battleeye(Since they can not stop shit) and replace it with your own anti hacker overlay? It seems as though, since you can do this, you can make a part of the mod that acts kind of like permissions(yes, from minecraft) but instead of not allowing the person to do anything, it bans players who use scripts. Here is how it would work. First, it would allow only admins(Designated IPs) to use scripts. Any other player will be banned apon use of scripts. So it performs an IP check on a person who uses scripts, cross-references it to a list of allowed IPs and if the IP is not found on the list, the person is banned. It could, alternatively, be used on player names(Although that it much less safe, as a player name can be stolen) Since I don't know how this game is coded, I don't know if it is doable, however if I see a person being a dick while saying it can not be done...Well, those are the people that I suspect are hackers and are just trying to discourage other people from being willing to support this. Aright, now for an item. BOOZE! Yes, booze. I am not sure if they are in game quite yet(as I have never found any, and I have been quite a ways around the DayZ map, now.) And if it is in, then I will have to look for ALL OF THE BOOZE SPAWNING LOCATIONS! But some mechanics on how it would work, Without a shot glass, you drink 1/3 of the bottle, with glass, you drink a few shots. Without the glass, you will become drunk, stagger about and fall over a bit. Drink another 1/3 of the bottle and you will reach 'utterly shitfaced' and fall over all the time, make a huge amount of noise, and pass out every now and then. Drink the whole bottle....Expect a loss of blood(to represent alcohol poisoning) and passing out after a couple of minutes after consumption. With the shot glass, one shot will leave you with a warm gut. With two, you will feel kind of tipsy, no lack of coordination. With three, you will become tipsy, slight loss of coordination, but not much. With for you will become slightly drunk. With five, you will become drunk. With six, you will become heavily drunk. Seven, eight and nine will change nothing. With ten you will become shitfaced. 11-15 will change nothing 16-17 will have you passing out, 18-20 will leave you with poisoning. But that is just for you average Jack Daniels. Beer is another story, but it might be best to stick with one kind of booze. In addition, a couple of shots of booze are ok, if not good for you every now and then. They will raise your characters happiness, and remove any minor pains that might be occurring.
  5. I think that the zed need a complete overhaul. The AI needs correction, the animation and running speed need work, and there needs to be zed that move a varying speeds(EX. Died one day ago, Slightly faster than a human, very rare spawning zed(Say, 3% of the spawns) Died 2-3 days ago, same speed as or slightly slower than the player, second most spawning zed(Say, 47% of the spawns) Died a weak or greater ago, very slow, no faster than crouched running speed(50% of the spawns) but they can hear further than all and draw together in larger hoards.) This would provide a good amount of challenge, but it would give variation to the game. Then there are the crawlers and hoppers, the crawlers should remain the same, but the hoppers should be moved down to crouched running speed, as the human body was built as a biped, not a quad, and therefor can not run as fast on all four limbs than upright. As for the spawning, which was addressed in this topic, YES. It is not good that one spawns right next to you then aggros.(I just log out if that happens)

    Too many Guns.

    Actually, this would ENCOURAGE bandits to kill, on the off chance someone found a few mags and a gun. Bandits have grown smarter. They wait until the person is dicking around in their bags and then BANG they are there hacking them to bits with a hatchet. It happens too often as it is, please don't start it up more.

  8. I say this game MOSTLY needs a better control layout. Which can be done manually, but still, would be nice to have an easier to use layout right off the back...Then again, I should really be badgering the ArmA devs about that so, SHUTTING UP NOW.

    Less cheapness?

    There are some things I have to agree with in this post. 1. Zombies are rotting chunks of flesh, how fast they are is bad. The fact they died, then most likely rotted for two, perhaps three days, then have been walking around for a very long time, all the while rotting, somehow gave them super speed? Seems legit. Then they spaz...HOLY CRAP THEY SPAZ. The animations need A LOT of work, and the AI needs a definite tone down. Running at you with a, say, 3% chance they still have enough of a brain to strafe. 2. Can't agree with you there, but I am willing to say broken legs should almost never happen when fighting a zombie that stands up. A crawler would be very likely to do that, making them a dangerous thing if they get close. I can safely say, a zombie that is standing straight up and whacking you right across the face should not break your legs while one that is grabbing at them and twisting at them should. 3.(Addressed that in one) 4. No. If you ask me, that would give an incentive to a bandit that does not have a hunting knife for gutting animals. Now, I have died because I needed to get used to the absolutely AWFUL control layout for the game. It was obviously meant for an X-box 360 or windows controller, not a keyboard. I mean, enter to open a container? Who's idea was that?!(Although I have gotten REALLY good at it. :3) 5.Then there is the hackers. If anything I can think of several ways you can implement a way to stop them in the DayZ servers. Add an overlay that says only admins(Designated IPs) can input a script of any kind. Players that are not designated to be allowed are global banned, permanently. Which, honestly, surprises me they have not done that yet.(At least, I think. Correct me if I am wrong.) Otherwise, I think this is well on its way to becoming a fully fleshed out game. On the off chance Rocket reads this, this portion is designated to him: I think I can safely say, you like the popularity this has brought you, and you ARE NOT willing to let it go. Otherwise, why do you still work on this? Making the zed a little slower and dumber is not a bad idea, it is just progression to a game that is sell-able. That is right, you can make a game, and sell it. You have created so much potential, so much...Greatness. Why toss it out to be stubborn? Sometimes, you must change the game just a little bit, to make a game that is the greatest selling thing in the world. I am not sure how much you actually talk to, and listen to, your followers, but I hope this gets to you. (Note, this is my opinion and criticism. They are not meant to be a direct order, only an insite, on, I am sure, how many people think.)
  10. Alright, I won't denigh it, I am a newbie. A noob. A noobernaught. And when I go to join a server, there is only a loading screen, and nothing loads. I have tried a few servers(Low pop due to appernt hacker problems) And I click and hit start, it begins to load, but stops on a black loading screen with the word that is simply "loading." Another time I got one with a loading bar, there was some sounds, but there was still no fully loaded game. Am I doing something wrong? Or should this actually go in the bugs thread? I am sorry if this issue has already been delt with, and if so, please link the thread to me. EDIT:Fixed it.
