Nice video but yeah i feel like the soud track would have better accompanied a fast-paced montage of your kills or something. didnt realyl suit the times spent sneaking and getting into position.

yeah its one of thse flood gate sort of issues tho. for everyone who uses it to stir up some clan PvP or original trolling thiers 10 other people spamming it and whining about admins, spawns, KoS, etc. -

played the official mod heavily for a long time mate. All i had ever hoped from SA was a sort of hybrid that had the indepth construction of Epoch and the bare basics aspects of the vanilla. Origins was initially appealing to me as well untill they got really gimmickey and startted to really depart from any semblance of realism. (EG flying fortress is fun the first time your clan owns one, then you relaize how enitrely rediculius the idea of this arising in an apocalypse is.) I enjoy playing as a clan and Endgame content that basicly dictates large group cooperation to achive the most ambitions constructions is important to me- At the same time it needs to exist in an architecture where you ahve to work for it and not simply cycle a big old pile and sell it at the trade to buy a ural full of anything you could want. on one epoch server my clan was playing at one point we had completely fortified Rog castle withcinder block walls and steel garage doors- had 2 black hawks and aMI8 that were armed with guns, a ZSU-32 ural, and like 4 fuel trucks not to mention 50+ briefcases at one point. its obscene how easy it was to pile up assets with even a small group.

again Copy pasta the vehicles from the mod. Modders runnign cracked private servers already have proven it can be done. no reason a paid team of developers can do the same thing. -
IMHO the only thing that really breaks Epoch is one of its trademark features- the AI trader. If you atleast had to scrounge scrimp and fight your way to the top as a unit with your mates or clan to maintain your motorpool it'd be a fun challenge almost like a road warrio type environment, but they ability to take almost anything you find and convert it to gold via the traders, then into more vehicles and ammo means ANY crew with 5-10 people can easily farm an infinate supply of Bhawks or armed vodniks, etc.

Always on voice chat is horrible idea. Infact i enforce PTT for teamspeak in our clan. you will get kicked from the TS server for pestering others by makig us hear your vaccum, screaming brats, barking dogs, etc. -
You can kill a player with household cleaners and rotten fruit. why not zombies with implements from the tool drawer?

Yeah i grin when people protest so adimately againts a feature because it may be used againts them- the day its implements i seek said person out and use it against them just to grind thier gears that much more. im just a horrible, evil person xD

Vehicles have already been "modded in" there is no exucse why if a few un paid modders (who in most cases have no formal training in the field) can make carbon copy A2 vehicles work dean's team cant- other then them simply "not being a priority". -
having read all the responses since yesterday i now want this mechanic purely for the purpose of torturing all the people who were afraid of it being abused for lulz.

Yeah if they make them retrieveable and fix the sighting a bit it would be a perfectly viable weapon. PLEASE PLEASE DEVS DONT MAKE THEM NERF BOLTS LIKE YOU DID IN THE MOD. The bow was awesome untill it lost its 1hk ability. without that its not longer useful at all as you just aggro or get shot in the face xD

I have no problem playing night time. the current lighting/rendering of night time in game tho is bad. I have camped, stayed out on all night hunts, etc IRL. Its NO WHERE near as pitch-black as in the game. yes its dark. Yes you do struggle to make out finer details, but you can see a picket fence or sizeable bush quite easily without tripping on it.

if all servers ran on the same time anyone whose in a time zone away from what ever thiey're synched to would be only getting night. ever.

eh. I guess thats one of the problems with things like lighting in PC games. the sheer facotrs involved (Hardware, Monitor settings, and In-game settings) What's fine for one may seem to light for another or to dark for yet another. I howevere didnt change any settings between mods and the SA hardware or monitor wise and the lighting is definately darker- Unless SA's brigtness is juts by default lower then Arma II's default? -
I have a LOT of problems with direction and priority choices the dev team has made since the initial release of the SA alpha. I will continue to be loud and outspoken abotu how i think things should be and how they shouldnt be and would onyl hope that anyone one else who actualy cares about the product continues to speak out openly rather then sitting quitely and being shocked when dissapointed. With that out of the way, I cant help but feel some sympathy for the devs. You simply cannot win when working with a heavily invested community on a game that has evolved from an existing title or mod. I have worked on several Modding projects over my yeas gaming (primarily as a coder) and i will be the first to admit they your ALWAYS wrong when your players are still waiting for content xD > Keep everything quiet and release it when done: Comunity bitches they had no imput > Run a closed Alpha/beta: those who get in and those who did not have a war. > Run an open alpha/beta: Everyone and anyone gets to speak thier peice and everytime you make one person hapy somoene with the opposite viewpoint is now pissed. Welcome to development.

Is that the new parrot back this month? i thought it was "ALPHA!" or was that last month? hmm. maybe some of these teams need to be merged into the "make tents and bicycles workable for next stable release" team. or how about the accurate balistics replacing dispersion cones team? Would both do 100x more for gameplay then adding more mediacal complications.

Thats the single biggest problem i have with 90% of decisions being made. Devs seem to really be intent on making pople play it "thier way" rather then going "heres the tools best of luck yo ya in the wilderness" On topic add it. They already force us to play field medic simulator everytime we log in, might as well take dumps too.

In arma 3 bullet trajectory is based on muzzel orientation. you can learn to adapt and anticipate sway. you can NOT do anything about dispersion cones other then barrel stuff the target.

I think alot of the "keyboard wars" you see are simply that Dayz is a sandbox game- that evolved from a mod- that was then re-modded by its players into dozens of iterations. we all have hundreds of hours invested and have very strong opinions where the game should go. Evolving titles always have this. Go look at the total SHIT STORM that takes place on the eve online forums with every expansion and every big update :P

LOL my wife actualyl DOES play and it goes something likes this > Spend 20 minutes staking out a town and 20 more moving in all stealth like > Begin looting Military spawn > She runs into the building im in screaming OHH GOD HELP > 30 zombies follow behind and eat my face > repeat as needed until beer runs out and i go to bed.

Im in favor of it. Its just a necessary evil to prevent ghosting and loot-farming exploitation. Yes it sucks when you join a server thats lagging/crappy/etc and optionaly try to switch servers and all-i get it! but i dont really see any viable other solution thats not prone to being exploited in some way and solved both PvE and PvP abuse. I know my old clan often would go to high value- areas like NWAF and repeatedly server hop between low pop servers to accelerate Loot cycling efficency. The 500Seconds also means that you have a considerable amount of time to wrap up a PvP scenario and re-locate if one of your opponents were to DC behind a corner in hopes of re logging behind you.
