    Why do you push?

    the whole point of holding up in a hard point is to make the attacker need an excessive amount of force or massive numerical advantage to stand ANY chance of success. solo-rushing a perosn holed up in a solid structure should be suicide. simple as. Options to over come situation; 1. Bring friends for multiple point of entry attack. 2. Have a buddy suppress the target while you use explosive to collapse or breach the building 3. Storm entrance with sheer weight of numbers so atleast one makes in in far enough to shoot the guy.

    DayZ moving to new engine - ENFUSION

    As a modder/coder myself this guy speaks truth :) In my times managing ArmA II servers the number of missions ive had to edit due to sloppy coding causing poor performance on bigger player counts is insane. anyone who can read the BIS wiki and to a bit of critical thinking can do basic coding in A2. Desiging a set of scripts for a mission file that do not run unecessarily putting excessive load on the server for every single player instance conected is another matter. I am by NO MEANS an expert or professional programmer. i have no formal education in the field; but i have done enough of it to know first hand what having a ton of server side scripts running can due to player's performance.

    tbh in it's current state it takes so little time to gear (especially if playing with firends) that going full "YOLO MODE" is acceptable. death isn't barely a minor setback.

    The more accurate version (as modeled in Aarma II) had a larger arror above the ones Shown in the SA representing less then 100m. the SA version is ranged from topr to bottom ^ 1-200m ^ 300m ^ 500m ^ 700m The arma to version also had one aditonal graduation at 900m, but the SVD struggeled at that range even with Arma 2's vastly lower dispersion values.

    Loot Farm Servers

    I say let them farm thier loot it ends up in my hands soon enough when i kill them on normal servers xD then they can go back and farm it all again just to give us legit players more ammo. No need to QQ or rage about farming servers. Kill scum take gear problems solved.

    Why do you play DayZ?

    Clans will always compete with eachother. thats the point of being in a clan on this game (atleast for most). a few problems with teh current state of the standalone aplify the issue tho; - All spawns focused near berinzino - No permanent storage (you cant get taken back to base to insta re-gear so you care 10x more about your gear) - High spawn rate of everying, death doesnt matter. - No vehicles would make re-grouping a pain if your clan has disperesed into the far reaches, so they generally stick close to berizino/svet. Basicly the clanny "death squads" always roamed the north in the mod mainly seeking to capture or destroy eachothers vehciles and gain superiority on the server- the current issues with gameplay in the SA however, push them closer to the spawn area and so they prey on others much, much more often.

    again you assume that everyone follows every possible feed. ive said this before that this game needs a comunity manager to post ALL relevent information in an easy to search and understand way on a page on dayzgame.com. one single source for ALL information. Dev blogs Youtube Reddit forums twitter really? all this needs to be in one place. also as we have seen, rocket for all his vision isn't the best at choosing wording- again it would be nice to have the ariticles on the main page "explained for dummies" with link backs to original posts/interview/whatever. having this done would stop alot of the sky is falling threads after every tidbit comes out and is taken out of context.

    If they do this a TON of actualy organized teams will simply leave. this is perhaps one of the 2 or 3 things that would be a perma delete from drive for me. ^this. I liked side chat. trolls, banter, flaming and all. it promoted comunity. you knew and talked to the same people all the time on a server- you learned who the flame baiters where, who the troll were, and who the cool bros were. just because YOU dont like it doesnt mean it shouldn't exist.

    all they have to do is put a dealy on entering/exeting spectate tp make it inpractical in PvP. would some clans abuse it to have someone watch target while telling others why the person is doing? of course. but fact is, we NEED a way to deal with exploiters in there here and now and know who is and isnt exploiting. waitintg on wave bans or tickets dont help the people harmed by exploiters/hackers in thier current situation.

    to me dayZ is about staying alive- as long as possible. work with those i know i can count on and dispatch or avoid unecessary risks. i cant wait untill loot is more rare and spawns spread out, then they'll be a reason to stalk players for gear- especially once zombies get fixed and made harder. let that random loot the town then follow into the doowd or remode location between towns before ambush! I absolutely HATE "YOLOing" and taking stupid risks. im one of those cold calculating types that likes to plan and carefully disect everything. Maybe it's the fact that im an 8yr Eve Online vet, but im just used to disecting the game mechanics studying and analyzing ever possible factor to something and then doing everything i can to get ahead. in dayZ terms that means seeking out the best gear and living longer then the next guy!

    Zombies are too hard (defending my opinion)

    The only problem i have with them is that thier glitchy as hell and disobey every law of physics. -They desynch and virtually "teleport" into you. -They desynch and cause damage from 10ft away -they run thru solid concrete full-tilt while your forced to fidle with opening doors to get thru -they can get "under the map" err.. under buildings and strike your thru the floor, etc. once all those issues are sorted to release worthy standards im completely okay with zombies being buffed, but buffing them now would just be downright annoying.

    to the OP; How to communicate in dayZ 1. Find the 3.5mm jacks for Mic and headset on your PC and connect the appropiate wires. many are even color coded for those with trouble reading instructions. 2. Go to http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads and download the TS3 client. 3. Go to the Group & Clan recruiting section and look for people to play with. 4. once provided with proper information join the teamspeak and use your headset. Congradulations! you are now probably getting 10x more out of dayZ then you would ever get from being forced to parrot back some stupid phrase on game start up- or by attempting comunication with randoms who in 90% of cases will try to kill you if they're armed.

    its a problem for everyone in reality. It's used to unfairly escape combat- and its also used to unfairly get the kill in combat. you cold be a completely innocent survivor and have someone use another server to "ghost in" behind you. like wise you could be a bandit and have that guy (and his gear) dead to rights but he runs into a house and logs out to move away on another server.

    I think he was referring to the fact that a fair few choose to not speak up in game to avoid the hassle from immature kids/teens who have to make a big deal of having female player in the server. My wife plays from time to time but wont use in-game comms and tends to avoid the younger members of our clan for the same reason. (tbh ive witnessed the sort of harassment thats dished out by these delinquents and wouldnt want a "feature" that forces me to have verbal interactions- regardless of gender.) thats the point hes making, you have a CHOICE to engage with someone or not, to hear thier coms or not. it should stay that way.

    I DO agree its a problem, but the solution needs to be non-encumbering and seamless. your solution would result in having to make a hike to one of several fixed check points to logout, OR you would spawn in there. either way you could easily be camped. this has been an issue with public hive since the early days of the mod; people quickly found they could expedite loot farming by server hoping (not as big of an issue in my opinion but meh) but ALSO that it could be used/exploited to log in a building behind smone you in combat with to kill them. Ive seen mnay clans do this- have someone keep the target engaged/hiding in a building while ypour buddy goes to another empty server to move to the top floor of said building then switch back to shoot your victim in the ass. I really dont have a solution, but making innocent players sitting ducks by spawning them in what would become very quickly known locations to camp is not a good way to deal with it.

    the point is that dayZ is supposed to be completely lawless and unscripted. and individual has as much right to be a total Dbag to all he meets as someone as a rigth to be firendly to everyone. you can hate thier playstyle if you want but the game shouldnt be changed to prevent people being playing a certain way.

Theres alot of things you can do. a few things i've done and seen work well for others; -Do events, advertised in advance. load a truck with some awesome gear or suplies and challenge people to come take it by force or what ever. (make sure you play fair if your owner/admin. remember the point is to give away stuff and make people want to play there) -Offer incentives to people who join with groups. if your server is ver young getting a few clans to make thier home there can give you a huge kickstart. you dont even have to necessarily give out anything OP; something as simple as a crate of building supplies to people who join with 5 more more friends/clanmates encourages them to stay and build a base (and once they've invested time into building they have a reason to come back later) -Have responsible/mature and professional admins/mods for ALL timezones. people get thier gear glitched, or fall thru stairs, etc. and then of course, theres the occsiaonal exploiter or abusive player. there should be staff avilable 24/7 to help with things like this- Likewise said staff should be people who can be mature and responsible with thier powers. so many times i see server owners just make clan members or IRL friends admin and then those friends abuse it. If your not prepared to stomp on toes and reign in your friends you may want to seriously consider not using them as admins. If you decide to do doner packs/perks try to keep them small and cheap (think micro-transactions). thinks in the 5-15$ range do well. special loadouts are always popular (but dont make them rediculously OP, just more convienent then spawning empty-handed. things like maps, basic tools- maybe even a pistol or SMG if you have roaming AI on your server). remember that quick cash-grabs generally debalance the server and drive away normal players who may not be giving you money but they DO keep your server populated and high on server list and that keeps traffic coming thru.

    i hate to say it, but id rather a hand full of servers with "Badmins" exploiting and just leave said server then let hackers get off easy because theres no way to directly deal with it.

    I see you entirely missed the part where Id rather avoid making a bunch of noise with gunfire. okay continue accusing people of being CoD players, going after kill counts, and what ever other nonsence. Im not kill count hungy by any means. i do want to stay alive. DON'T DIE = OBJECTIVE NUMBER 1 apparently someone missed the fact that this was a SURVIVAL game, which implies that SURVIVING takes absolute presedence. stop trying to force others to play your way. you want to run up to random people you dont know and talk to them about the weather go for it. i'll quitely gater my loot and defend myself as i see fit. k? k!

    no ones asking for go mode, TP, ESP, or any of that abusable stuff. you SHOULD be able to spectate (with name clearly displayed in spectate mode for recording proof) and BAN people for things like glitchign inside walls, TP hacks, or anythign of the sort.

    lol. I guess you recently got KOS'd. Im actually one of the few people who will leave a unarmed bambi alone rater then anounce my posiiton with gunfire if given the chance. someone who runs into a house im looting with an axe out on the other hand, i dont care. i dont want to respawn, i dont want to team with you, i dont care what your story is. i have the guys in teamspeak im working with. I play smart, I play for the end game, i play to stay alive. taking risks for randoms i dont know doesnt help me or my odds in any way. sor but i do care amore about the destination then the journey. oh well welcome to reality. not everyone here wants to roleplay.

    if they did this id just use my laptop for TS3. metagaming ftw. theres also an android app so those with any modern spartphone could do it as well.
