  1. Sadly no skype for me :/ but I'll PM you my server and in game name and you can come by to help?
  2. Why is it that none of the servers I go on have global chat? It saddens me that I can never talk to people currently on the server. I know it was used for spam, but couldn't admins simply ban spammers and keep global? tl;dr: I miss global chat.
  3. Hah! Nice. Landing on objects above the ground will keep you from dying. You'll still break both legs and probably pass out though! Aim for burnt out cars.
  4. Sprinting through Elektro on a geared character (silly I know, but it was a lowpop server I didn't expect anyone to be there). I wanted to get into the hospital but I had nothing to break the glass without shooting, so I went around, and saw another player. He had no gear, had his flashlight out in the middle of the day, and was surrounded by doctor skinned zombies. They were wearing white robes stained in blood, and there were at least a half dozen of them. They all aggroed me and I booked it out of town down the road East. Lost them in the trees like a boss, and never turned back. Pretty strange.
  5. I should've applied a "whilst in combat" addendum to my original post. Alt+f4 is reasonable in a situation where you are not currently being preyed upon by other players, zombies, a really big drop from a tall building, etc. But it's the rampant misuse of it that ruins it. Like I said in reply to xChronicles, alt+f4 is applicable in certain situations, but using it as an exploit to avoid circumstances where death might occur should have severe consequences. Like I said earlier to xChronicles and OMGWTFBBQ, it is applicable in some situations, like when you AREN'T in combat, and need to leave, fast. So like I said I agree with your points that it shouldn't be a 100% chance that you get zombiedomed when you Alt+f4. When you use it as an exploit to avoid being killed however, it should.
  6. Actually quick tapping of W while crouch running makes no noise either because you're constantly moving, so there's no chance to make the whole leaf shuffling noise, looks really funny though.
  7. See that would be the issue. The solution would be the degrading weapons, 1911 with only 5 magazines, and ever increasing horde. It would only lead to death, no chance of survival.
  8. Chaotic Neutral. If I don't know you, or if you can see me and have a gun, I'm going to take you out just because I would rather not die. Plus I want your loot. So I don't kill on sight because someone might not have a gun/might not see me/might be a known ally, but if you are just some mook wandering around with a gun, you are an immediate threat.
  9. There is a rocket launcher currently in the game, so it might not be hacks, but hey, looks like you were just in the wrong place, at the wrong time.
  10. Yeah I have 5 of them from a medical box, but I'm roleplaying as Bear Gryll's so I'd need to pee on them and then drink it before I gave them to you. Also I don't metagame.
  11. I too have axed some people some questions. And some zombies. I was being chased out of Balota by about seven zombies, 3 military and 4 regular. I sprinted out to a line of trees outside the town to the west, and turned to face my aggressors. One by one they fell to the honed blade of a psycho crazy axe slaughterer. It was a massacre. In my valiant defense two more had tried to accost me, both took my blade to the cranium. All in all nine zeds were laying at my feet, and me, wounded but miraculously not bleeding. I looted the lot of them and bolted, to continue my story as AXECOP.

    Help maybe?

Could you try looting the barn to see if you find a soda to drink? Might be one when you relog.
  13. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU Call me a cod kid but I hate the dogs in Call of Duty. They terrify me. And now they have followed me to DayZ! NOO
  14. roflmao.haskins@yahoo.com

    Broken leg!

Sounds like you're right near Elektro, it should be either to your West if you're at the little lighthouse, or East if you're at the big lighthouse. Stroll into town and raid the hospital mate.
  15. Only if you drink your own piss before. EDIT: BUGGER ME you ninja'ed my post!
  16. Used to play slow, ran around in the west looting barns and deer stands for gear and food due to fear of banditos, got killed by damn debug plains and bleeding out... got bored too. New spawn fast play, run all the way to Balota, find hatchet, go on hatchet killing spree due to graphics pissing me off and slow server. 9 zombie kills later, and a new nickname among squadmates: "AXECOP", I sprint into Cherno, find a Lee enfield, cap some zeds that were trailing me, and sprint to the church. Cap some more zeds, find a 1911 SCORE, cap some more zeds, sprint to the supermarket, find an alice pack and food, cap a zed, sprint to firehouse, cap a couple more zeds, and sprint out. Fast forward to more adventures in Balota, killing some boars, making some fireplaces, finding a new player and not killing him, and more zombie shenanigans. In the end I had much more fun playing fast only because it's way cool to not have to be worried about being spotted, and then potentially dying when you are just like "Fuck it, if I get spotted I'll waste you anyways". The only thing I would be worried about is other players, but other than the noob I found in Balota, I didn't see a single one.
  17. This isn't a "real life" simulator. It's a zombie apocalypse simulator. If it was the zombie apocalypse and I would die if I didn't take your supplies by killing you, and I had a chance? 10/10 would do it. Non PVP servers would be so boring, noone would play them. It'd be too easy to just group up and go zombie killing, and hey, if you see another player who cares! In short, while I respect your opinion that they might work, I have to say that what you would get would be a much less interesting game. So sorry, but no.
  18. Today, after trolling some zombies at the Balota military base on a server with <10 people by running around them in tents while also looking for a real gun (lee enfield fml), I went to the hangars, because why not, I was hungry for some loot. I cleared all the useful stuff (mostly food, some 1911 mags) out of the hangars, evaded a hopper, and turned the corner. I saw a noob standing there. No gun, coyote patrol pack, civvie clothes. He backed up because I had my sights on him, but Iowered, saluted for a few seconds, then sprinted off. I feel like a good person because hey, I could've killed him, but why bother? Nothing but decent meds and a flashlight. So to all you haters out there, not everyone is a KOS douche, there are those of us willing to take the risk of saluting and not killing.
  19. If it is a solid colored black screen that you reach right before your HUD and character load up, it could mean that you simply are taking a while to connect, or froze while connecting. The problem comes from the black screen not really telling you whether you are almost ready to connect and get playing, or frozen and have to try again. Hopefully the black screen gets changed to a load bar or a load has stalled message, so you can know. Cheers!
  20. There are maps you can find online that will guide you to vehicle spawns. If that doesn't sound fair to you, I would check the more secluded northern and western villages, they are neglected by most because of their isolation, and would be the key place to find something that others might have missed, such as a repairable vehicle.
  21. Well, it happened. I lost my murder V card. I popped my murder cherry. I did the dirty dance.... of death. I had just gotten sniped while en route to Elektro, and so I knew I needed to be stealthier. I, sans all my possesions, respawned relatively close to Elektro, and also close to a deer stand I remembered from my last spawn. I began to crouch run to the general location of the deer stand when I noticed a figure running full speed AT me. A zombie? No. A player! And he had a hatchet readied for my throat! I sprinted down the road towards Elektro till he stopped chasing me. I stopped too, and approached him, but kept my distance. His name was Mitch. I saluted Mitch, then direct communicated to him I was friendly. I asked him if he was friendly, still ready to run if he came at me. No response. Being unarmed my only option was to run anyways. So I backed up towards the forest, saluted quickly, and then full speed ran into the treeline. I looked back and noticed he was running towards Elektro, and thought no further of it. I made it to the deer stand, evaded the three army zombies, and picked up a Benelli m1014 shotgun with 8 slugs. I knew I needed better weaponry, and food. I then started off towards Elektro. I would stop at the fire station to supply up and perhaps procure a more superior firearm. Keeping to the treeline, I went west, following the road, till I came across the clearing separating the trees from the fire station. Keeping my senses with me, I ran from bush to bush, and luckily made it to the door of the fire station. I looted the ground floor with no problem, and then advanced up the stairs. Then, as I reached the first landing, I saw him. He was running up the second flight as I turned around. It was Mitch! I was scared, because of earlier, and raised my shotgun. He tried to run past me, stood on the landing with his hatchet, and then ran down the steps one flight. I put 4 slugs in his back. My heart was racing! I didn't know what I was doing. I had just killed this man! I descended the steps and took his czech backpack and his ammo, as he had an m1014 as well. I reloaded mine just as I heard the first moans of the zombies. Taking as much of his things as I could, I set up a chokepoint at the bottom of the first flight of steps. Each zombie met the same fate at the top of the steps, each ones undead existence ending at the tip of my looted slugs. One down, then two, then three. Then silence. I took all I could from Mitches fly ridden body. A map, a compass, raw meat, hunting knife, loads of ammo. I finished looting the firehouse and to my surprise found a PDW. Good, a solid silenced sidearm. Then I logged at the top of the firehouse tower. A foolish point, but I would quickly egress and regroup my thoughts later. And that brings us up to here. Hope you enjoyed my murder virginity story!
  22. Excellent! Sounds like he deserved to die anyways, trying to hold down Balota with a mak. Top marks for skill as well. Indeed he was. If he had said he was friendly I would've helped him out you know? Too bad.
  23. Hey y'all, I wanna tell you why I love this game: It stresses me. Now, this might sound like it would be annoying, but it's not that kind of stress. When I play World of Warcraft, and I'm doing a gathering quest and it's tedious, that's stressful, but that's not the same. This game makes me fear for my life IN THE GAME! By worrying about my life constantly it gives me a paranoia that I have never felt in a video game ever. In fact I just died by falling off the castle parapet at Rog trying to snipe a zed. I love this game.
  24. What, like in Crysis? NICE! Good times that game. Run over a sea turtle, slaughter some koreans, then ramp a stolen speedboat off a rock and out of bounds, only to snag a missile to the face.
