Took another break for the last 6 months as college took up 99% of my time, any ways going to start playing again. There's probably a million different maps by now, I've only ever played on the original. Is there one out there now that everyone sort of views as the most "fun" or "best"? And are people still mainly playing on white listed private hives or whatever? Just curious if someone wants to point me the direction of a good server/player base? P.S. Any significant changes to the mod in the last while? Add or remove anything?

Saw 1 hacker last night. He was just spawning stuff in and running around taking people for flying boat rides lol. Haven't seen anything else though in the last week after coming back from a hiatus.

It's pretty awesome. I try to get my girlfriend to play as many games as possible, even though she's not a gamer. She's conquered Mass Effect 1-3, Resident Evil 4-6, Bioshock 1&2, Dead Space 1&2. She's really only into horror type games or something with incredibly good story. She doesn't really play computer games sadly. Not really, I help anybody who doesn't know what they're doing, and kill anyone who is dangerous :P Absolutely. I know some extremely competitive and great gamers who are women.

Is there any way to get access to them? Or is it a private server for "friends" ordeal? I have no problem with private servers, as long as the Admins don't abuse anything. Any recommendations on servers?

So the 2 new skins instantly replace the one you're currently using? So no matter what a bandit will have the rag around his head, or is it optional? Sounds a lot harder to be a hero, but seems more rewarding. Has the hacking died down yet?

So last time I played DayZ was probably 2-3 months ago (Don't quote me on that). I'm just curious what, has and hasn't been patched/fixed/updated. 1) The hacking (read: Scripting) was out of control, pretty much every server had someone hacking and you just couldn't play. I know that they can't really fix the hacking, I'm just curious if it's sort of died down? Is there any servers that are known not to tolerate hacking etc etc? 2) Ammo/item duping. My buddy told me that they took out the magazine glitch. Can you still cheat your way around food/water/painkillers/blood bags etc etc? 3) Any other notable changes in the last couple months? I remember reading something about dogs somewhere. Never looked into it, was it for the standalone or the mod? Any help is appreciated, I have tons of beans to spare :lol:

You'll need to post a full hardware spec. You can't just upgrade your GPU, especially if it's an older PC.

Damn, nice start. I thought my latest start by killing a sniper with the Hatchet and stealing his AS50 with 5 mags was good :(

I notice I get kicked for random things every once and a while. Something to do with Battleye thinks I'm running scripts lol?

Only like 2-3 days. It only takes a couple hours to gather every item you need, especially if you have tents set up. Gets boring sometimes, usually just Rambo a group of 4+ for the laugh.

What's your CPU and GPU?

Run whatever application you're using to open DayZ with as Administrator.

I notice sometimes on random servers I'll just get horrendous FPS, but obviously that's not the case here. The obvious answer would make sure all drivers are updated, but once again, that doesn't sound like the issue. How long was your computer running for? If your CPU runs for extended periods of time, it can get quite hot and it activates a "failsafe" to throttle it back so no damage occurs. I would also try grabbing a temperature program to see what your GPU/CPU are running at.

It could be that you don't have Pixel Shader 3.0. Post your current video card or go to; http://www.systemrequirementslab.com Choose DayZ from the drop down menu and see what it says.

2 things; First, make sure your key bind isn't used in-game. Second, try running team-speak/vent or whatever you're using as administrator. Lemme know if it works.
