After the pistol nerf, they're all pretty well useless against players. So all i really care about is noise level considering you gotta headshot with every sidearm now anyways. So makarov (low noise, ammo EVERYWHERE) until i can find an M9SD -

Also you could try (if you use steam) . Go to your game library. go to arma 2 Operation Arrowhead's properties by right clicking on it.. click the verify integrity of game cache under the local files tab. THis will take a few minutes and download any files you may be missing restart game and try -

Close up everything. Restart computer Disable "Dayz" in your expansions from the arma 2 OA main menu Enable Dayz again, restart game... and be patient on the loading -

I got the exact same problem as OP. Everytime I join a server, fresh spawn or not Sometimes when my skin switches back to survivor I lose my bag too. Also have experienced the locked at 2500 thing Ozrik mentioned -

ok well 25 percent of the player base didn't start school.. and monday is still next week.... so why are the numbers dropping AS WE SPEAK Im sure i speak for most students when i say school starts at the start of september.. c'mon man you know whats going on with this mod right now..people are getting fed up -
IN an interview, rocket said he'll release it after gamescom.. so august 19th... but thats a sunday so we'll prolly get it on the 20th or 21st

So while the OP saying the mod is dying is a little extreme, It's impossible to ignore the numbers. And don't tell me school's back, I'm a student and its not. Since mid-july, we've seen a drop in players in last 24 hours of about 25 percent (200k down to 150k) while also seeing a HUGE rise in unique players (700k to 1.1m) The ratio of active players to total players have been decreasing wildly. Fact is, there's tons of people out there who really want to play but can't, because of hackers mostly. And don't just say "if you're smart you'll go to a low-pop server", because I DON'T WANNA PLAY ON A LOW-POP SERVER dammit.. the funnest part of the game for me is meeting up/engaging other players, not putting it on easy mode (by playing with 4 ppl on the server) and looting til your hearts content, feels practically like exploiting to me. So yeah, I mostly agree with OP... RIGHT NOW this mod is dead in the water... Im obviuosly gunna buy stand-alone but all this hacking business has put a sour taste in my mouth. -

1 - Run DayZ Commander 2 - Let all servers load up, sorting them by highest population 3 - Let sit for 1 hour 4 - Refresh top 10 highest population servers If a server population has dropped by 20 or more I assume it has been mass hacked (teleported, thunderdomed etc..). Important to watch for other reasons for population loss (time of day, server ping). In the last hour, 9 of the 10 highest population servers have been cleared out, presumably due to hackers. I do this test often and it usually is about 7 or 8 out of 10 (of the highest pop servers) being hacked within an hour. Anyone who says "Ive only ever been hacked once" or "The hacking in Dayz isn't any worse than BF3", try this test and it should change your mind. Seems to be ALOT worse through the days and on late weekend nights. -

Ok so lets use 6 hours between every restart as an average. So in one hour , Server restarts alone should clear out 1-2 servers (of the top 10).. that still leaves about 6 cleared servers (on average) unexplained.. which i would chalk up to hacking -
