It really isn't. Me and a friend are looking for a locked, private, unofficial hive server to play on, but aren't getting hopes up that it will be any better. Not going to give the skiddies any more bang for the $$ for their scripts they bought, so we're outty until BI catches up or the standalone proves it won't be the same. Sucks, was the best game I've ever played, but it's not playable right now. I've always played games with sportsmanship in mind, never to cheat, but that's the mindset of the whole bro-internet 4chan/somethingaweful net culture these days. Cheers and good luck to the folks who are going to tough it out.

was the server requiring battleye 1.168 when you joined? I got kicked off one of my regular servers and had to manually install the dll in order to play

Checked in to see if the game was playable yet, and was forced to update battleye to 1.168. Is this a new version, and if it is has it cut down on the amount of scripters today?

I know my clan has stopped playing until the artifacts and hacking have been addressed, just not fun spending hours playing legit to get it all taken away in 1 sec by a hack. Never minded dying for legitimate reasons, but this last week really turned us off to the game. We'll start playing again once the environment gets a little more friendly to people who want to play it as a zombie survival game though I'm sure. Coupled with the fact that our group generally sticks things out when most people run off, I wouldn't be surprised if people were leaving tbh.

I just wish he'd update the release date for the upcoming patch so me and my friends know when we might be able to play again.

The hacks have nothing to do with the mod being an alpha. It's what the mod is built on, and even if the mod weren't an alpha those problems would still be there. So I really don't think getting a refund from steam for arma2 is out of the question. Steam even ran a promotion for arma because of DayZ's popularity, so I think some responsibility does fall on their shoulders, because it isn't the mod that is getting hacked, it's arma's engine.

The amount of users that have been playing has plummeted this week. Like nosedived. Love the mod, but it really is unplayable right now. Spend 2-3 hours finding things legit, get teleported to the beach as a dog and die in 1 sec. I don't think people dying legit would bother them because it's a failure on their part, but dying not because the mod is in alpha but because what the mod is built off of is ricepaper to scripts makes it not worth it. And the fact that there hasn't been an update at all on problems that make the game unplayable in cities with the artifact tearing because of the stupid soldier bodies 2 days after it was set to deploy just adds to the problem. Just remove the fucking dead soldier bodies if you can't fix it.

an update would be pretty nice tbh, a few friends have been waiting to play because people are laying down on top of the dead soldier bodies and looking out so they don't see tearing and killing folks as they approach with no chance of being seen or shot at. Hopefully the bodies are removed or fixed soon!

No it isn't that one, it has a big grey scope on it that is thermal. I think it must have been hacked into DayZ, once I found it I just logged off and asked here, haven't even killed or shot it.

Is this supposed to be available in DayZ? I found it in a tent at a camp I ran across, but haven't seen one before now. I took it, but I want to get rid of it if it isn't supposed to be in DayZ. Not really looking to get banned out of ignorance.

First time I saw this one, everyone on server teleported to beach and turned them into german shepards. Couldn't see the guys name even though he was speaking in direct, maybe the logs will show something.
