I have been damn grateful to have this to play over the xmas holidays , I would have been abit sour tbh if they hadn't released it for testing.

I have had similar problems where the bullets didn't seem to hit the target and I have put it down to packet loss type situation because I also did not see the bullets impact behind the player.

There is a reason .22 is favoured by professional assassins[apparently] :P.I own a tactical version of the 1022 [sr22] and using supersonic none expanding ammo the penetration is pretty frightening.

that spawn in Novy was also in the mod but very rare.

I encountered 2 players today ,we all spotted each other at the same time and as I watched I saw muzzle flash from one of their guns but heard no noise or bullet noise.I ran like a gazelle through the forest but got hit in the leg but still heard no report or bullet crack so it could have been a headshot on you with a similar sound glitch.

Personally I think the really exotic military stuff should be avoided ,just stick to standard issue weapons and have some more exotic civilian hunting rifles etc . BTW the M24 is the military and police version of the ever popular Remington 700 the only difference being the m24 is chambered for the military 7.62x51 nato round as opposed to the civilian version of that round .308 Winchester. I could easily see the Remington 700 turning up.

This is a better alpha than most finished games great fun and the future looks good. Remember that we purchased the right to test this alpha and that is all. More time spent testing and reporting your experiences will help shape the game to your own designs rather than just being whiney chumps :P

Also cleaning your wounds with alcohol initially makes you sick then after your wounds hurt less then gradually get better after you will heal faster . Also I think disinfecting your clothes aids things I think though not 100% on that. When you spawn your blood is low and your thirst and hunger also so you wont see the game in full colour until you are well established.

I think at this stage they need to man up and just say if it wont be out before the xmas holidays . At least I can buy a game to play on my holiday and factor out dayz alpha in my plans.

In the UK you can legaly own a .50 BMG calibre rifle for target shooting as long as it is bolt action and you are near a range that is certificated for it:P .....not common though:D

This is the best "Alpha" I have ever seen it looks more polished than most full retail games . I don't really have a problem with the zombies at all ,indeed I am fine with the current state of the zombies in the mod as they are actually quite a threat these days if you don't have a silenced weapon . As for the occasional floating loot ......really who cares at this stage? I say good job rocket and co you will have my money. p.s the game needs the marlin 1895g in .45-70 ,very popular these days.......

a bump for this server I tried it last night and it runs well , hard to find these pure 100% mod servers without the 300 helicopter and vehicle scripts messing it up.

This is a problem I have had for many months of playing if I enter an area to fast then nothing has time to spawn or it loads you in to late and treats you as if you have just logged in and removes the loot .Long ago I realised that I must linger on the outskirts of the area I wish to enter then approach at crouch walk....this has proved to be a good thing as I suspect it has saved my life many times rather than just rushing in:D

Breaking line of sight dosent work like it DID......it works abit more realistically now you just need to keep going and keep putting stuff between you and the zed and you WILL lose them ,its just not village idiot easy anymore[not calling you an idiot btw that's just how easy it was]. My server has rolled back to 1.7.6.1 so the vocal pvp squads can get their jollys withoput issue and to be honest it feels a lot more boreing now and im just logging in to stockpile antibiotics :P

Personaly I realy enjoy the patch ,the zeds do work you just have to adjust your play style and crawl or crouch walk [it took me a few deaths and some hours to get the hang of it].The new crash sites and infected camps are very cool ,though I thought the infected camp had slightly to many zeds to be worth investigating for the loot I found there. The only things I think realy need changing are a higher spawn on antibiotics at hospitals ....I rind a million bloodbags and painkillers etc ,I think the most common thing you would find at a hospital would be antibiotics in RL certainly not blood bags:D.Also I think a very slightly higher ammo spawn would be handy.On another note I wonder why there isn't a .22 rifle in the game its the most common calibre in the world by a massive margin and the there are billions of rounds in circulation... .quiet and good for rabbits and zed brainpans. Also the admins have now used the rollback patch on our servers unfortunately due to problems and bugs in the administration area.

Steam sale ends on the 5th so you are not going to see squat at least until after that.

Even if it is ready steam will want 100 achievements implimented into it somehow.

Please god no thermal weapons. Some of the old bolt action rifles of the same vintage as the lee enfield would be cool.

Not long after that time i was running up the coast road[after being killed at a large camp i had discovered by an unseen gunman]when a dude rocks up on a motorbike with as50aws and tels me "get on the bike" i had a colt45 in my hand and he wasnt fussed so i just get on to see what shinnanigans he was going to throw my way.He teleports us both on the bike to the barracks at the main north airfield and starts dumping gear on the floor for me...neadless to say i banned his arse and stole his bike:P

hmm no tents or viehicles and the server hasnt restarted as scheduled.

ohh dear ,theres been gun crates about all day with some truly terrifying ordinance in them.It will be all over the place by now.Are we allowed to use it ?
