I am sort of the opinion that banditry would logically be the most rewarding path. After all, in a SHTF scenario, there would be no reason to uphold any of the old world moral standards until some sort of police regulation could be formed. There's really no reward for 'humanity' in a society without rules, and if you go out of your way to be helpful, people will justifiably be suspicious of you. From there, you are liable to get shot. In the real world, initially, people would probably initially avoid each other, still holding on to old world morals, but unsure that others feel the same way. However, in Dayz, since there is no real penalty for death(e.g. your character dies, you die also), along with the whole internet anonymity thing, there is nothing stopping people from going on a killing rampage, since at the end of the day, they can always just change their character's name and start over with no consequences.

Killed any bandits lately? Tell your story
Crabflesh replied to WesleyWilders's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I met up with a friendly in Cherno. We decided to team together to go raid the military tents. He got a little bit ahead of me so the bandit that snuck up behind him did not see me. I forget your name, fellow survivor, but I got the bandit that killed you. :( -
Uh, don't go to the NWAF. I would suggest getting military supplies from helicopter crash sites. The airfield is a death trap.

Need Medical Assistance? We can help.
Crabflesh replied to Dr Wasteland MD's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hey I'm currently north of Elektro if anyone needs assistance in that area. -
So I have this great gear, a bunch of rare stuff and shit. But the fact that I have it forces me to play careful and avoid other players at all costs. But I would rather run around in Cherno and get shot while trying to make friends and shit. Unfortunately, there is nowhere I can store my valuables and I don't want to just give them up because I put some serious time into getting all my gear. What do you guys do? Should I just opt to kill myself or give all my items to a noob, or what?

Found Mountain Dew but had a fail moment
Crabflesh replied to horrgakx's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I found a Mountain Dew, but a few minutes later, I came across a bandit who shot my face in. With my last dying breath I drank the Dew while mocking him. If I cant have the Dew, then nobody else can either. -

Just got some fantastic help from Trout. He saved my life. I recommend him fully. Gave me a transfusion and some painkillers.
