    Not trying to rush or be a bother, but I'm just curious. Why not in this patch? With the radar removed and the desync issues better than they were, what could the hold up be?

  4. We were never near Novy. Mr Ian was closer to Moglevka (sp) (the town near Zub castle), when he was killed the first time. He had a bike there. He ran back to his body to find it looted and the bike still nearby. He loaded up on it and drove with a friend of ours who was already near there and another on the way north west/north and ended up finding the group that killed him there. It was then that he was killed again. We've collected a lot of extra guns. Most of us have spare DMRs or whatever in our backpacks. He had no gear from the spawn, so he grabbed one from our guys and tracked down the other team. It's not impossible to get a spawn in Cherno and run up to there to his bike in that short of time, but even I don't remember it being such a short period between him getting killed and that happening. We, and that includes Mr Ian, don't cheat or use hacks. We don't even Alt-F4. I'd love to see the video proof that you claim was given to you. But I am confused. Are you accusing him of hacking (teleporting, speed running, ect), or using disconnect exploits? You banned him for disconnect exploits but had all this supposed proof that he was teleporting instead? I don't get it. Zub/Moglevka isn't -that- far you know.
  5. I was with Mr Ian in teamspeak, and ran to the position that the firefight happened in time to catch Fluid logging out just before the server restart. After the restart, Mr Ian was banned and Fluid logged in promptly-- right where I was waiting for him. After I dropped him, the server was reset again for "hack reasons" and to turn on name-tags to catch the "hackers" and provide proof. Shortly after this second restart, Mr Ian magically logged into the server and into the game, despite being banned and telling us on TS that he was. And right after started logging in and out, losing connection, and was still in there as of the beginning of this post. I can confirm that Mr Ian never logged out in combat and died to these guys twice. We simply tracked this group of 3-5 players west from where they originally ran into him, and handed him a spare DMR that one of us had in our packs. There was no combat logging on our side (four of us, including Mr. Ian).
  6. TL;DR - I've been having this problem since I downloaded and installed all the DayZ files after having an unrelated frame rate issue. I cannot get through the loading screen on any server I've tried (and I've tried around 20). As soon as 1.7.2.3 was released, I downloaded the changed data files and was able to connect to a server fairly quickly. I immediately put on the ghillie suit I had been saving until they were fixed and ran about for a short while, but was having extreme frame rate problems that I assumed was part of the new beta. I never downloaded the latest one because of the "Wait For Host" issues, so I only downloaded and installed 94876. In my attempt to fix the frame rate problems I was having, I downloaded all the DayZ files instead of the ones that were listed as changed (just in case) and also re-downloaded and installed the beta. When I tried the game again, I was still getting really awful frame rates just at the main menu, and now I couldn't get into any servers past the black loading screen after "Waiting For Character To Create". Turns out, my computer simply needed a restart since I was having issues with other games and my frame rate being abnormally choppy. After that, other games worked fine, but DayZ still wouldn't let me past the loading screen. I tried re-installing the beta, re-downloading all the DayZ files again, and updating BattleEye manually, but nothing seems to work. I've left my computer "loading" on several servers for 10 minutes or more, and nothing happens. I'm forced to Ctrl-Alt-Delete to close the game. I do NOT use SixLauncher. I NEVER downloaded 1.7.2.2. I NEVER downloaded AO Beta 94945. I HAVE NOT tried a fresh re-install of ARMA2:AO or ARMA2. I'm okay with waiting for the next DayZ patch if I must, or even the next Beta patch if that'll fix it, but my friends seem to be able to play on 1.7.2.3 just fine, on the same servers I'm trying to connect to. I cannot tell if this is a problem with my files or if my character is somehow screwed in the DayZ database. I would be more than happy to just hit respawn but I can't even get into the game to do it. Frustrating! I've been stuck at the infinite loading screen before, but it was never on every server I've tried. Not sure what to do at this point but hope for some sort of response from DayZ folk or people who may of had this issue and fixed it themselves.
  7. This! This fixed it! At least for me. Not sure what the problem was, but I assume it had something to do with BattleEye borking out from the beta patches in... some... weird way? Not sure. Mods should sticky this if it's not already common knowledge. You have my thanks and my beans for the help! EDIT: I should probably add that I tried multiple servers and each one let me through really quickly and ran smooth as butter. The only issue I encountered was the loss of my ghillie suit which is a small price to pay to actually be able to play again, though I can't help but wonder if that played some small part in the issue. I'd doubt it, but stranger things have happened. For those this doesn't work for, make sure to follow the instructions to the letter. It's a little confusing, but my game is back functioning now, so yours -should- too. Woot.
  8. Bumping this for any possible fixes. Tried a few more servers with SixLauncher and default. No luck.
  9. Downloaded and used SixLauncher/Updater. Didn't work. It did act like it was installing new files however. Just still can't connect to any server with either SixLauncher or the default application. Now I just feel dirty.

    I'm having this problem too. Loads through just fine and then gets to "Waiting for Character to Create", stays on that screen for 10 seconds, then goes into an infinite loading screen that I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del out of. 1.7.2.3 with 94876.

    I'm running 1.7.2.3 & 94876 and I can log into servers running 1.7.2.3 just fine. At a -huge- performance decrease though. Until then, my frame rate was pretty smooth with the options I had toggled. However, now, it's in single digits unless I have Post Processes disabled completely, and even then it's pretty low. Not sure if it's just me or not since people seem to be having no problems. Wasn't a server issue either because my main menu was lagging as well. On the plus side, I was able to wear my ghillie suit.

Just don't see the point in arguing over legalities of a vague situation. But by all means, continue crying about the assumed, legal or otherwise, wrongdoings ITT.

    I don't understand how hard it is for you to get that BattleEye needs and in pretty much required to run on all servers. The only reason someone should and would have it toggled off would be to allow hacking to happen. If it -wasn't- part of the TOS, it should be. That being said, these people -should- have their server removed. I doubt they were up to any good with BE being off in there anyhow. Having access to the DayZ HIVE is not a right, it is a privilege. Some server hosts are in an agreement with the DayZ team and, instead of having all their servers blacklisted, they chose to drop the offending server instead of probably losing all... however many servers they have running DayZ. They even state that I don't really see where this great wrong has happened. Legal or otherwise. Sucks for Seattle 35, but maybe they shouldn't of allowed hacks on their server.

You follow the same rules as a server admin no matter what server you run with DayZ. You'd be blacklisted from the HIVE otherwise. There is nothing wrong with server providers or the DayZ staff setting rules for you to run DayZ on a server. Just because you paid for the server and host it, doesn't mean you can break the rules or not have them apply to you altogether.

This isn't the first time a 7thCav member or admin "friend" has shut their server down because they died and lost their stuff. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=3798 A few people got banned for killing the admin, with the reason given being "ghosting on TS". I was actually on the Teamspeak at the time it happened and was banned for backing up the folks that posted that thread. We're actually friends now, and they're pretty cool dudes that don't like admin clans ruining servers with their BS. Wonder why! 7thCav seems to have issues with people outplaying them and stealing their things~

I don't have any screengrabs, but a friend of mine saw a SUV with the minigun on top drive past the NE airfield shortly before I logged in-- and, armed with the knowledge that a hacker was in the server, we kept our eyes open and our ears up for any choppers or other such non-sense. Just after my friend left the server and I entered Devil's Castle tower, a (grey marine) Huey flew over and hovered above with at least one gunner looking for me. I swiftly ducked back down in the tower and logged the F out! Time this happened: 12:20 or so, eastern standard time.

    To the people whining about tents, that was an intentional wipe that everyone was warned about in advance. It's posted right here on the forums in this very section. To the people whining about their vehicles. This is an alpha. If your vehicles were parked in the "green acres" part, then you can't really complain. They said it was a risk. If you had vehicles placed elsewhere and they disappeared, then that sucks, but remember. Alpha. Alpha has lots of bugs. Bugs and alphas go hand in hand. And eFFeRR. Really? Adding features to the game is stupid? It's sad that you don't care that this is an alpha, because you obviously don't understand what happens in the alpha stage of a game.

  23. I don't mind the aggro. It makes sense. Zombies were pretty much blind before, and even more so if you were crawling (which was like wearing an invisibility cloak FFS). The fact you can hide from them makes up for it. The argument that this makes people "more reckless" is stupid. Players aren't creeping through Stary to avoid zombies. They're doing it because there is undoubtedly players around. They go running through to gather up zombies to hide in a building, they're gonna stick out. And they're gonna get shot. That's no different than what it was before, really. I do wish zombie spawns around little worthless buildings scattered around in the wilderness could be toned down, however. Running next to a town should be a bad idea. Running through the wilderness kinda carefree and stumbling across 10 zombies spawned around a toolshack in the middle of nowhere (and completely hidden by shrubbery to the point that you can't see it) kinda sucks. 1.7.1.1+ can proceed as far as I'm concerned. Also, just so people know who might not. If you stick close to buildings, your sight meter drops drastically. Even standing. I'm thinking this was intentional, but I couldn't say for sure. It makes for a going from "cover to cover" mechanic. I was able to crouch walk/run in most cases, and crawl when I needed to cross an open space where zombies would otherwise see me. The one or two cases where I had to quickly move around some zombies were actually pretty intense. Watching and waiting for them to move just right to make the quick crouch-run across the street is rewarding! I managed to get through Berizino with only pulling one or two zombies, and even those I lost through a house. Plus, I was in cover enough that players wouldn't of even noticed me (without really looking/camping).

    In all seriousness though, I do hope the recent FPS issues get fixed/addressed. Game's currently unplayable. Everything else is aces though!
