Yeah i completely agree that its a different type of hacking. Until its brought under control though, i refuse to put hours into gathering loot etc etc only for some tosser hacker to kill me, its pointless. I know not to become attached to gear/weapons, but when a hacker kills you its different, and its happening too frequently now.
-
I can understand why there are hackers in games like COD and BF (people addicted to leveling up), but hacking playing a game like arma2/dayz, i just dont see the point.
-
As of tonight im taking a break from Day Z. I love the game but hackers are ruining the experience now. Its happening on every other server i join. Im not criticising the devs in any way, but something needs to be done to get a grip on it. I can happily put up with death by glitch in this game, but death by hacker on every other server just leaves you with a sour taste in your mouth. :( :( :( :( :( :(

To the two people who I killed at Chernogorsk

I dont agree. If someone does not know your in there, they are not going to announce that they are entering the building, just in case someones in there. Thats like saying 'Im here everyone, come and shoot me!' You take a chance, the mistake they made was not being quiet enough. If you sneak then chances are you will catch anyone in the building off guard. -
Bandit/Survivor Morphing to be removed
The Headshrinker replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Nibeous RE: Bandit/Survivor Morphing to be removed I have been avoiding posting here because I can see both sides, but then things like this happen, walking through chern, see person running from zombies, the say "friendly, looking for food" in voice chat so I decide to help him, give him food, and some spare ammo for his guns that I was just holding onto in case I found the gun. We scavenge for about 10 minutes then he says thanks for the help but... and shoots me. Yes I know it is my fault for being trusting, and that's the price that I pay, but if there was some indicator as to who was and wasn't a murderer, I could have chosen to kill/leave him be, or seen that he didn't have that indicator, and got unlucky that at that moment, he decided he wanted to be like that. A skin, per say may not be what the game needs in rockets eyes, but I'm sure that most of the community will agree, that if you want this to be a co-operative survival mod, then there needs to be some way that the good players and the bad players (good guys/bad guys) can be told apart. I'm also pretty sure that most of the people that don't want this, are the bad guys haha. ^^ I agree with this 100%. Spot on. Since the skins have been removed EVERYBODY shoots on site. The game is still enjoyable, but removing the skins has definately had a negative affect. -

Unholy_Kyono I was at seven days until I was randomly killed by a tree root. LOL, even the woods aren't safe! -
Finally a Realistic way to solve the shoot on sight!
The Headshrinker replied to BossFi's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like the concept. I preferred playing Day Z when we had bandit/survivor skins. Only because if you saw a survivor you were more likely to try and engage in communication. Now, you have no choice but to presume hostile, as you have too much to lose, especially when you've put a few days into one character. A range of skins would certainly make it more interesting, and potentially change the dynamics of the game. For example, medics would probably set up camp around hospitals etc, and try to prevent uncontrolled looting. Being able to visually identify the nature of a player improves the game in my opinion. But just because someone is a survivor doesn't mean they wont shoot you when your backs turned. As was the case when we had survivor/bandit skins. [/align] -
I feel that since the skins were removed, the majority of people now shoot on sight. When the 2 skin types existed in the game, people were less likely to shoot a survivor on sight, and would often attempt to communicate before firing any weapons. This is not the case now, without the bandit skins, everyone just presumes anyone else, outside of their group, is hostile. For me this has taken something away from the game. Dont get me wrong, i still enjoy playing it, but i thought the bandit/survivor skins benefited the game. Most people didn't want to end up in the bandit skin, therefore wouldn't just go round the map shooting anyone they came across. Everyone is a bandit in the game now. The communication options are not used in the same way they used to be. You rarely see people asking 'Friendly?' on the comms bar now. Please consider changing this Rocket. Doesn't need to be exactly like it was, but something along the same lines. Cheers

You are listening to the wrong people Rocket.

Some of the comments on here make me sick. Some people just dont use the brain they were born with. The game is in Alpha state, every change that is implemented in the latest patch is a test, to see how it works and gage people's reactions. Its not the final version of the game, far from it, so for all you people who moan, just chill the f*ck out, your playing a FREE mod, you didn't pay for it. -
Any UK Manchester DayZ players?

same problem. I searched high and low, no useful advice available on this. Im just not going to use the beta for now. -
This game is so much more fun, and so much more enjoyable when you join forces with someone. So, all you trigger happy people, just chill bleedin out. Dont presume that everyone is out to get you, because they are not. Its just the perception alot of people are having because of people shooting before they try to communicate, regardless of whether they are bandits or not. Not everyone is after your beans. Im sick of hearing people moan that its become a deathmatch, because it hasn't really. These are probably the people that are shooting everyone that comes near them because 'everyones out to get them'. Please people, chill and enjoy :)
