KOS and how it might relate to the DayZ Sim.
Heaves replied to Obraien's topic in New Player Discussion
Since there are no repercussions for killing other players, people will kill you for whatever reason they see fit. Unfortunately that's the way the game is played until/if a system of sorts is inplemented or zombies become more of a threat forcing team work. The way I avoid this type of play (since I'm fairly new to DayZ) is with lower populated servers. I've found that less populated servers attract new players and usually newer players are more interested in learning the mechanics before immersing themselves. Thus, so far I have not been killed on sight (yet) and I've run into a few dozen players over my 20ish hours played. Now that I have a handle on the game, I'm currently fully geared and exploring the country side. Just don't get attached to your gear and things will become easier. -

Pretty sure? To even have a slim chance against someone like me, you would need far more confidence than that. -

I'm not going to lie to you, your experience means absolutely nothing. I'm a spectre, I would put two in your forehead before you even realized I was on your server. (Out of character) No problem. :) Games these DayZ (pun intended) are missing a certain spark, and I like to keep things interesting. Smack-talk, murder lists, and the lot are always fun. :) -

Fruit Snacks were never added, they fortunately purchased the game. You (or anyone else) will never be safe(er,) and you will always live in hell. I'll personally make sure of that. -

Haha, you sir just made my day! :) Actually, I think I'm going to wait until your Coalition of Fruit Snacks are formed, and then I'll get the game. -

Oh, I'm really upset.... You called me heaven... Let me go outside and round-kick a cow in the face. I'm renaming your communist regime to: The Coalition of Gummy Bears. P.S. - When you guys are actually formed, let me know... I'll pick the game up on Steam and gladly end the Dayz of your Livez. :) -

Need advice decreasing load times with my pc. Buying an SSD possibly.

Upgrading to a quality Solid-state drive will always allow games to load much faster, but zoning into the game, as random51 said, is server related. -

If I did have insecurities, I damn sure wouldn't want to dicuss them with anyone in this thread. You might try an make me play with your coalition tea cup set or something. I had a hope of respect for you, the beginning of your post had man written all over it. I was going to invite you to Cherno for some beers, but you just shattered it, you would embarrass me and order a Smirnoff Ice. You're just another c-bear hell bent on feelings, sharing, and caring.... Hey, is your in-game name: Tolgrim? Can I add you to my friends hit list? (Out of character for a second.) Ugh, is this what the internet is coming to? Let's all play the troll card and use a rating system; as if you were some type of popular internet critic. Please, feel free to get over yourself any day now. My intentions are legitamate: I'm shit-talking in terms of the game. You are free to play, how you want, so I'm not breaking any rules or moral codes. I'm no savior, nor am I a bandit. Call me neutral, with a vendetta against your so-called coalition. -

Bullshit, who are you trying to fool? You have socialist written all over your ugly virtual face. Oooh, everyone look at me!! My name is Johnny 'Carebear' Coalition. I want put roses in my hair, hold hands, and sit around a campfire singing kum-ba-fucking-ya. /spit You disgust me, if I met you (in game of course lol,) I would slap the girl out of you. I would take a dump and wipe my ass with your 'coalition' flag too. If you actually took the time to read my initial post, which consists of two or three lines, you would see that I don't even play the game (as of yet.) Therefore, I'm not a bandit. However, because you girls are pissing me off to no end with this caring and loving crap; I might just start, so I can make your already miserable in-game lives a living hell. :) " Like, seriously? " Wow, I hope you're a girl behind the keyboard, because you sound even more like a bitch. I bet you want Rocket to add a /cuddle and /hot chocolate feature; so at night, you and your band of chumps can get cozy in a tent. While we're at it, lets change the can of beans to fucking marshmallows and graham crackers too. It's no wonder you care bears need to form such alliances, because beneath the hat and trousers, lie training bras and diapers. -

Lets see... Using subtle terms such as: Society, Military, Police, oversee, and Trade? That kind of sounds like the start of a governing body to me! Socialist pricks, you care bears would try something like this. -

You'll always have some asshole trying to introduce some form of Government. I might have to buy Arma, talk a few buddies into buying, and dismantle this Coalition crap. Hey Coalition, FUCK YOU! :) -
From what I can deduce, the OP is frustrated that he can't play both sides (bandit & hero) without consequence. The fact that his actions now persist through death, cause him anxiety, because people will defend themselves without question. The skin is a welcome'd addition, because it allows ALL players to get an idea of who killed them (if they see their killer.) For example, if they see a guy with a towel wrapped around his face, they know it's a bandit and should proceed with caution. If they see a stripped shirt, it can also be a bandit in disguise, but it that is unlikely, and players can determine on their own if they will less likely be killed on sight.

Its basically up to what your board supports. If your board supports Crossfire go with the 7870. If your board supports SLI, go with the 660 TI. Grab another one of the cards in a month or two. :P See the review, both cards are worth it: http://www.tomshardw...eview,3279.html TL:DR Summary: Here's the real bottom-line: using our benchmark suite and settings, the GeForce GTX 660 Ti and Radeon HD 7870 trade blows. That fact alone justifies Nvidia's $300 price tag. Your choice comes down to strengths, weaknesses, and features, then. If you don't tend to use anything more than 4x MSAA, the GeForce GTX 660 Ti will perform better than many of our results indicate, since you won't be taxing its memory subsystem as hard. Conversely, if you're a fan of lots of anti-aliasing, the Radeon cards tend to pull ahead in this price range. From there, do you prefer AMD or Nvidia products?

A player's video game actions does NOT define the person behind the screen.

The overall sniper debate is as pointless as people calling for PvE servers. Not only would you go against the game's overall vision, but ultimately, you would make it boring. Sniper Rifles add to the already tense atmosphere the game creates. Aside from that, as stated enumerous times, the game is designed in the eyes of rocket, and he wants to keep the rifles, period. If, however, you don't like that sniper rifles are for keeps, then you can either: A - Accept the fact that they are here to stay, and get over it. or B - Create your own zombie survival mod. -
I know this community is very senstive, and it's split between the 'right' way to play. However, I was curious as to what keeps YOU (the player) playing the DayZ mod? Especially when you can get the same experience minus the bugs in other games? For example: Zombie Survival FPS - L4D2. FPS PVP - BF3 (or COD)
