  1. To help with those fucking rabbits! I just expired one at 200 metres and I could not believe it. I mean it was running like crazy and I shot my m4 and I saw blood! But then as I realized when running towards the carcass I would never bloody find it. It's impossible. I even tried backing away so that the grass would disappear but it might have vanished or it was too small too far. I'm sure I hit it because I saw it go down and I saw the blood. If I only had a dog to fetch that would be awesome. Yeah, yeah, I know this has been mentioned before etc... But having a dog to help track game would really be cool and would not upset the game balance. Especially those cocaine hyper rabbits.

    I think the darkness mechanics need to be adjusted ever so slightly and we are good to go! Hah, first time a booted up DayZ was in the middle of the night. Not knowing wtf is going on and how to play the game just stumbled about... But it was scary as hell.

    Just like with any game you have to make sure that you have the correct version and mod in regards to the server you want to connect to.

    I agree with what you are saying, but on the other hand if these bugs are indeed from Arma II don't expect anything to happen. It's not like Bohemia is going to fix the engine of an old game just for DayZ mod. Especially with Arma III in the works and SA looming. Which in turn can mean the death of the mod once SA will be released. Who would want to play with these bugs? I'm sure 90% of people will scratch out the 15$ for SA.

    Right, I just spent a few hours playing and I just want to say that it's buggy as hell. Even though the infected can swarm you from all over the place all you need to do is turn a corner and they forget. Sometimes even crouching in front of them confuses them and they give up. If you run through a city you can accumulate quite a horde but if you crouch run you can sometimes brush past them and they would ignore you. I don't remember it being that way... But yeah, firing a weapon in the wrong place can become your undoing.

    Where is the loot for this building?

    Found my first GPS there. It's sort of strange because I can nearly always find some type of loot at the bottom barracks in this bulding at NW but never anywhere else.

    Yeah, you would think that after a massive success like DayZ mod has had Bohemia should shover Rocket with a huge dev team and hookers. Personally I like that we have Rocket more or less in control of PR instead of some idiot making promises and hyping the game beyond belief *cough" Pete Hines Bethesda *cough*.

    Quick question about heli crashes

    Never did a great deal of research into this but I think they spawn at server restart along with the loot. It is the only loot that is server side matter of fact. Locations are totally random but require wide open spaces. I'm not sure if the quantity can be controlled via admin panel in private hives.

    I wouldn't mind this update too much if it fixed the wall hacking zombies. If you apt the difficulty on the zombies then you better fix the bugs, otherwise it just becomes too frustrating. Don't count on DayZ fixing everything, because it will still be in Alpha when released.

    Can we get Dayz "official" servers?

    The game ran for months on vanilla settings and then private hives started to happen. Anything still connected to the main hive has to run vanilla, albeit infested with skiddies. BTW you got balls coming in here going "I want this or that" towards a free mod. If you want it go rent a server and make it happen.
  24. Not entirely true. Some SMGs have insane rates of fire, as well as come with their own calibers 5.7x28mm but that might already be used by some pistols I'm not sure. People should die if hit with a pellet shotty at close range for realism win. Slugs tear a hole in the human body at better ranges but become useless at long range because of accuracy issues. To me, shotguns are underpowered. The Winchester 1866 could be loaded with the .50-110 Express rounds which are very powerful and can tear you a new one. On a side note Winchester is not a shotgun, it's a rifle. It even says it in the name and I always wondered who made it this way in Arma. The 5.39 rounds are IMO very comparable to 5.56. However the AKM uses 7.62 which are considerably more powerful, actually IMO they should do around 6000 damage. The difference between 7.62x39 (AKM) and 7.62(M14) is the AKM with have an effective range of around 250 meters. M14 AIM is not a sniper rifle it's just an M14 with a red dot sight. No idea why it's a considered a sniper rifle Lee Enfield aka "zombie magnet" uses 7.7x56mm which should do 8000 damage at the least. I just don't use it because it's suicidal. When push come to shove though, loads of these issues are actually "features" created to balance the game.
  25. The gap between the damage values is to make rifles seem like they are more useful. Even though Arma is a realistic game it is very difficult to create a good gunplay model without sacrificing a lot of the gameplay.
