Sure, it's pathetic to restart servers or kick people for killing you but at the end of the day they pay money for the server. I know it's against the rules but it's basic basic human behavior. I became and admin so I can have my own home server where I control restarts and shutdowns, not that I want to keep on doing them just that they can't surprise me. I wanted my own server so that other abusive admins can't do what you just described. The problem is it's been torn to pieces by hackers and dupers, and I don't think it should be my job to spend xxx amount of hours tracking scripters down in logs while I could be playing in the meantime. That's battleyes job. You don't become and admin to fight hackers or to let other people play on your server, you become one for yourself.

My server atm is being totally raped by scripters. I cannot find a good source of information on how to read logs to detect hackers. I would be really greatful if an active admin would share their banlist so I can update mine.

Yes.. There is a lot of fun to be had in this game. Just far away from populated servers. PvP can be scarce on low pop servers and after shooting a few thousand zombies it's what matters.

The game is almost unplayable at the moment. Vehicles broken, tents broken, server restarts broken... Patches broken... Hackers everywhere. No support from the dev team. I play it anyway, I guess I'm a masochist.

There is through BEC, but it's not that simple. You need to edit scrips and I have done so according to the guide but it just doesn't work. :(

I have seen it restart once, without the warning... But then it sort of just loops the messages about the server restarting at 8 etc and to contact me. Can anyone help me get this right?

after about 10 games I had a character who survived around 25 days. I played a lot, enough for my girlfriend to whine and row with me about it. I finally died by hacker mass murder while logged in as admin and telling people I was going to restart the server. About 50% of that was spent playing alone around stary and NW airfield. I rarely got into PVP because I played on low pop servers. But when I did, I nearly had heart attacks. The Adrenaline rush is incredible.

People troll because it's fun. Everyone here has done some type of trolling in the past. Only thing is in dayz it can be more painful... With the loading times and loot rarity.

I remember the first time I've seen them I nearly shit myself thinking my GFX card just fried. At the moment the only real fix is this: Stop playing and wait for a patch.

And the reload time sucks too. You should be able to have 4 shot quick reload thing going on. Basically if you miss you have to run for cover.

BE goes crazy and starts spamming the same message "this annoying message will display every 20 seconds" Sends people to briefing and restarts the server. Has anyone seen this before?

I dunno, vehicles seem a bit bugged. I found a bike which was hidden by another player and I took it. Later on I stashed it and saved it couple times. When I logged on later it was gone, I figured someone stole it. I checked again and there it was, hidden in the same spot where I originally found it. It could be that only the first save matters, just like tents. Or it's just fucked and who the hell knows wtf is going on lol.

I did get the odd gear wipe before but that was a result of going from .4 to .5 Recently I quit during loading after it took too long and have been logging back in only to be killed and respawned at the coast with my old char but no gear. It has been almost certain that if I would quit during loading it would happen. Just few hours ago I alt tabbed and my gfx driver crashed so I shut arma down, this happened many times before but this time I got my gear wiped. In the last 3 or so days of gaming I had my gear wiped at least once every session. Like I said it happened before but not this bad. Anyone else?

So using someone elses server for which they pay for and crying about how they behave on it is perfectly normal? Fuck off cock sucker. For me, the reason why servers operate under such strict rules is to appear open and make it easier for people to join a game. They devs didn't want to pay out of their own pocket for 4000 official servers so they just used everyone to do it for them. LOL. At least it worked so that rocket could put that "1000000" players since april" or whatever on his slideshow at gamescon.

Get your own server then. The server rules are dumb already theoretically only giving admins the pleasure of spending money so that other people can play.

What a load of bullshit that is. Yeah, go find a rangefinder when it is only spawnable in barracks at 0.11% asshole. The only way to get loot so quickly is to a) kill players who hacked their gear and don't have a clue how to use it B) kill players who killed other players who had hacked gear c) raid tents My friend got spawned at cherno and the first house he walked into had a fully loaded corpse with all tools and l85 I'm not going to make stories about how awesome I play and how many tents I raid. Simply put I have a tent that I saved with all my best gear. Every time my backpack eats something or I get killed by a scripter I roll back. I have not died by legal means for a month... Did I find a rangefinder or a dragunov in the barracks? Fuck no.

The admin was most likely trying to get rid of the scripters. If shit gets out of hand just shutdown the server...

So my friend tells me that my server has gone down to 10-15 fps. After about 3 tries to log on I manage and I think it took that long because of it. Sure enough 15 fps. I wrote a message that I'm going to restart the server to give people time to save tents and disconnect. And then, some fucking script dick smoker kills everyone on the server. Can someone please help me ban this shit stain? I don't know anything about logs and I'm clueless as to where to look. I was just trying to be nice and telling people about the restart, I thought that was the right thing to do. Was I wrong.
