People shooting unarmed people, why?
ivan keska replied to kitta's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Bandits irl would rather avoiding the killing, stealing pisses people off well killing only makes them enemy's. Look at pirates they do a show of force but typically don't slaughter the crew or kill another, because their task becomes harder and more dangerous if to do kill someone. To say bandits kill shows a lack of information on how such criminal activity really play out. But as for this issue it only ruins the game by keeping that death match mentality going, which doesn't exist in real life except in very rare cases. -
Zombies should be like the weather. (What DayZ is doing right)
ivan keska replied to TimmyPage's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
But these aren't zombies rocket even says they aren't because the idea of them being infected is more realistic and thus scary. -
Ilike this idea but it should be consumed or used up to prevent it being this items that is rare yet super common because it just keeps getting recycled through people.
-
Thing is I've gone camping in the mountains and have been away from lights at night before, DayZ darkness can easily happen in real life. Now could it be done better of course but as for now use a flash light, chem, or flare you pussys, I have and I made it through the night.
-
It needs to be realistic which means some things will get easier but other things will become extremely difficult. Also I agree we should be able to gut an animal with an axe since they can be done irl, but should yield less meat since its not really good or easy way to gut an animal.
-
Well horses are a common animal I would think in areas around and in farms which Cherno has a lot of. But they would have to be added after zombies are coded to attack animals, that way if you put your horse in the wrong spot it gets eaten or you might see one running away from zombies. Also remember horses have to be heavily trained to not panic so gun fire to close should spook them, but always the more exposed to it the less chance they panic. Also they shouldn't be able to just get ridden right away, since some horses aren't use to it thus would throw you off but can be walked around with until rideable Also horse should transfer over to servers, but also should wonder off if left alone for to long unless tied to something (which can put it at risk to zombies and starving/dehydration). Over all I would like to see this idea, because it's realistic, valid form of transport, and helps have more end game stuff.

New way of getting blood! ( Player to Player Transfusion)
ivan keska replied to ProGrasTiNation's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think this idea, but you need it to maybe transfers 100 blood every 2 seconds and have a cancel transfusion that both people have the option to do (they can just move at the risk of bleeding out, since violently ripping out a needle could cause severe bleeding). This way it takes time and moving can cause the one that did move to loss more blood, as well as the option to give a certain amount of blood to. -
Suggestion: Make silenced weapons more realistic
ivan keska replied to na85's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Thing is you can make a gun produce almost no noise, but the problem is you will effect its velocity so much it might no long even be lethal or just impractical. Surpressors are used if I remember right because they help keep muzzle climb down, the sound of the gun shot sounds farther way or of a lesser firearm, and most of all takes away or almost takes away the muzzle flash. But you have down sides such as the weight being a big one, size and length of the firearm increases, sight picture can be hindered by the suppressor itself and also by the heat waves coming off it from multiple shots, and you also have to clean it (note some people think surpressors work best when dirty). But ya as something said above when a suppressed firearm is shot you know a gun was used, exactly what type of gun or what distance well not so much or direction depending on where you are. -

The mic beng used and the speaker you have make a huge difference between real life sound and that sound. Odds are that gun is still louder then a jack hammer break apart a road. 22 lr is a small round sure but it's still loud. Ive owned 2 rifles both rifles I had double ears on well practicing with them and I could still hear them putting clearly, even the guys shooting 22 lr I could hear from like 5 lanes down. Personally I think they should have the volume in game set were if you can hear zombies and foot steps, and you fire a gun you go feel a some pain from you hears getting blasted. People really have no idea how loud guns are until they have actually fired one, he'll even with ear protection you can still get hearing damage through prolonged used. -

Only firearm set up that I know of that can make the super quite gun shot sound similar to those in movies is a suppressed 22 or maybe integrally surpressed 22 or using those rounds that hae no powder inside them instead they are propelled only by the primer. But those i hear barely can kill squirrels. -

Beans for you because you understand surpressors and that they are still super fucking loud. Also yes this should happen because this game is suppose to be realistic after all. -
[From a bandit] You suck, your attitude is wrong and need to GTF over it
ivan keska replied to Creambomb's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This game isn't suppose to be about the pvp, that's just there for realism. This game is meant to be an experiment on how people would react in a world like DayZ, but instead its just becoming more and more into another shooter. Because people like you are playing it that way, by hunting down people for the reason you said "you enjoy the hunt". Trying killing another human being or yourself, I can assure you it's a feeling unlike any other one you only start to feel before you even do the act and that little taste of it is enough to stop you and most others. If you want to kill just to kill, and not to play the game in a realistic fashion then play normal arma or another game for that. I'm I saying never come back no because this mod needs testers but it doesn't need people trying to change the very core idea because they are to lazy to lay something else. -
WHAT IF: Region's Zombie Spawn was linked to Humanity?
ivan keska replied to bbilbo1's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Your forgetting some people here are full blown retards and consider consequences and punishments to be the exact god damn thing. Thou I'm amazed none of them have shown up yet. Anyways I like this idea but low humanity should cause zombies to more easily spot you or find you, as a way to help deal with the griefers near electro and Chernobyl that just sniper people. -
Running does keep you very warm as one guy said above, I've ran outside before just a short mile to school on money. It was -20 outside and I was fine with just a thin fall jacket, jeans, and light boots, also a ski mask (took that off before I got close to school), only part of me that got cold was my cock and balls and it was a horrific pain once they started to warm up. Also if your a runner you know the rain is the best thing ever when running since it helps keep you cooled a bit but not cold, same with night time to. But I think the temperature system does need to be more real, like as you get colder aiming is more difficult because motor functions are getting effected and maybe picking loot up and doing tasks take longer or require multiple tries. But we also need over heating, that occurs from wearing Ghillie suits or being near a fire to long, running to long, and so forth. Which can cause again harder time aiming, hazy vision, passing out, and if pushed to far death same as being to cold.

Which sniper would you use overall if there were no Anti-Mat. Rifles?
ivan keska replied to Reaven1911's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Svd the camo on it makes it without doubt the best sniper rifle in my book. -
I support this idea because, this what would a great tool for real bandits and also survivors. That aren't out to be murderers but instead get by. Plus it would be better than knee capping someone and thus having to give them morphine after mugging them and getting what you want.

So where's the banditry?

[From a bandit] You suck, your attitude is wrong and need to GTF over it
ivan keska replied to Creambomb's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Another griefer, that never bothered to find out the original idea of this game. (which I think is dead) -
If I was an admin and caught someone doing the it was be an instant ban. Because this is just strait up cheating, and also visibility at night is suppose to have down sides up until you get night vision. But on the night of night vision, battery's need to be included and also different generations (which makes a huge difference in night vision devices). So suck it up use your flash light, chefs, or flares like you are suppose to instead of pulling shit like this.
-
I wish I could give you a million beans, because you are 100% correct. If nothing is done about the griefers this game will fail, because it just becomes another shooter then. As for this idea I support it because we need a way to allow some kind of trust to happen between players, also irl your not going to befriend someone then shoot them in the face. We are a violent species sure but we still have emotions that effect our decissions, more than likely you would just steal from them and run away. So this idea might help create a better reflection of reality.

Green mountain is a good loot place because of the multiple deer stands around it and barns to the west, plus the low level military spawn there can give you ammo or sometimes a good weapon (I got an m4 with aim dot from it once). But I wish you could go up the tower and not just to that low lever platform, because higher access means more possible loot and also a great spot to view the surround land from.

I like you, you remind me of someone awesome, someone like me. So here's your beans

Ability to Combine Partial Magazines
ivan keska replied to Mr Lawley's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Ya I think finding empty mags and thus having to refill them would be a good idea, since right now you magically spawn in new mags when you convert ammo and they have full ammo to even when you converted over one bullet. -
Night vision/Infra-red suggestions- Make them glow
ivan keska replied to Bribase's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
First off no to number three because that goes away from the realism this mod is suppose to be about. For number two, you need to remember these are military grade nv which means they are most like gen three or better and thus have a good view distance. Now the nv scope for the fn fal is I think gen one or almost two which means it shouldn't be as high quality image or view distance. And number one im not sure what you mean, I think your talking about the thermal optic but used like the binoc thus a weapon can't be used at the same time. If that's the case then I kinda support it but I rather see a spotters scope added so a super high zoom binoc pretty much instead. -
Ghillie suits need to have a down side, because in real life they are heavy, super hot, and something you would never wear near fire unless you want to die. If you wonder about the last one look up the story's and the videos of Ghillie suits catching fire. Things needs to be made realistic as oppose to removed, because making them realistic make things more balance and help make this game better. Which if you remember DayZ is suppose to be a "realistic zombie apocalypse sim".
