I didn't get my hero skin shooting folks like that. What I would do is be smart and take the safer way around the back of the city, in and out of alleyways and various pieces of cover and access the other hospital that I rarely ever get sniped at.

Arma 2 itself is a great military simulator. I wouldn't only calculate DayZ when it comes to purchasing Arma 2.

I certainly wouldn't walk up and ask if you needed help. I've heard the wild wookies of the forest are usually quite hostile to other species.

The difference is that it spawns in military only areas, meaning it won't spawn in Firehouses. I say this because going on that the S actually means something major and not minor is this: [NEW] Weapon - Sa58P_EP1. (Military) [NEW] Weapon - Sa58V_EP1. (Military) [NEW] Weapon - Sa58V_RCO_EP1. (MilitaryS) [NEW] Weapon - Sa58V_CCO_EP1. (MilitaryS) Both weapons with MilitaryS have attachments on them. The ones without the S do not, so I'm going to infer that since the sights make a difference in the weapon itself as the separate name suggest, the more advanced gun makes it into the more advanced and rarer areas like the barracks/heli crash, while the lesser ones can spawn in all general military areas. (firehouses, barracks, towers, heli crashes)

As much as I can dream, I don't want to get hyped up with so many great things and have it turn out that the standalone won't have those awesome features outright. Because I know that I'll be like "They didn't give me what I promised myself. I hate them" Even though I'll never hate them. NEVER.

I am a hero on the public hive, I never go out of my way to harm another player unless he's killed someone else in cold blood* or has shown aggresion towards me. *I tend to be more aggressive to bandits, but I know I shouldn't. Like you've said yourself the game wouldn't be fun without other players. I myself find ease in the fact that my only possible threats are zombies. Only if you don't know how they operate. When I first started playing, zombies were the bane of my existence. Nowadays, I know what bushes and trees they can't get into, what buildings to look for when trying to slow them down or lose them entirely, and now that the combat roll is here, escaping them is even easier. You are daft.

Doing things like gutting animals, chopping trees, repairing cars, or putting up tank traps and tents now attract Zombies. Be aware of your location and the Zeds around you when you do these things.

I stick to a good set of public hives. Ones that I've had a few good player experiences on and haven't had any unusual activity. I know since it's public, I risk the hacker threat, but I'm okay with it since I know I'll get my lovely vanilla Dayz. Also being a hero on the pubic hive has more benefits that you'd imagine.

Custom skins are for your player model. If you happen to want to create one, keep the file size under 100kb, preferably at the 50 to 80~ range. If you are interested in learning how to make custom skins for your survivor, I'll edit the post. Be warned though, most servers by default don't allow custom skins.

I'd like to keep my Hero skin, but I'd like to move toward a private hive and start fresh all over again, to see if I am the same type of Medic I once was. Anyone know of a nice Midwest/Eastern Server that is maintained to some degree, and won't be going down at all? I like to stick around 1 server as my central 'hub' so to speak.

12k blood. I'm on an epic helicopter crash sight hunt. I have a lot of legit high end gear, that I've found myself. Cruising around in a tractor I found on a mountain. Everything's green except the engine. 10 mph through some grass being careful to avoid objects. Pat a tree stump. Tractor explodes. Instant death. Those damn explosive tree stumps. I was the only one on the server.
