Yeah, most likely pegged by a sniper. From a far distance, you probably wouldn't even hear the shot.

That gun isn't legit as others have pointed out. The only AS50 that is legit is found only from Helicopter spawns, so it can be pretty rare. Your best bet is just kill a zombie, drop the spawned item on it and hide the body. At least this way the weapon will be removed. Chances are, if he spawned the weapon, the rest of the rarer gear on his kit will mostly be spawned as well.

I tried to play as a nice guy in the game. I really did. I didn't shoot first, I stayed low, kept hidden, even helped a number of people with morphine and blood bags. More often than not, it blew up in my face. That guy who's leg I just fixed with my magic morphine injector? Shot me in the back. That new spawned player I let run by me safely when he/she said "Don't shoot! Friendly!"? Shot me when they first found a gun. I'll still avoid people when/if I can, but with how the majority of people are, if there's a good chance they'll see me, or get a clear shot? I'll bring them down as soon as I can. As for the OP's mention of WarZ - I wouldn't say it slipped through ANYTHING. It saw the popularity of DayZ, and immediately hopped on board, copied the premise and made some pretty screenshots. Hell, even 50% of the title is a rip-off from DayZ. I do agree with you on the sense that it IS a survival game, but if you need to bring a few people down to ensure you survive, then all is well. Should a zombie apocalypse ever happen, I'm not going to trust my next door neighbour, let alone some stranger with a rifle.

The servers I play on have been rather vigilant with banning/kicking the script kiddies, I can only assume the others across the board have been doing the same, especially with the update to BattlEye. It's easy to get the Life Expectancy up across the board (even with bandits) when entire servers aren't being Thunderdome'd, instantly killed, or dropped from a Helicopter :D

Hello all, Logged in today onto US 865 [Chicago] to play with another friend and ran into another interesting DayZ Adventure. I realize there are two servers with this name, with the same IP. The server we were on had the port 2302 We happened to be running towards Elektro when we came across a burnt out car, nothing too special, until we got up to it, then it spawned into a brand new car. Magical right? Well, then we noticed the pile of ghille suit bodies which seemed awfully out of place. None of them had any discernable loot, aside from one of them, which wasn't dead but had a sniper rifle with what appeared to be a silencer on it. We could drag it, but couldn't open any bags on it. As we were checking the whole scene out, we both got shot by a silenced shot, and after another shot we were both dead. Luckily this time I was able to at least get some pictures. I got a picture of the Car after it had been spawned/refreshed, the pile of dead ghille suit guys and the guy with a big silenced sniper rifle. I don't have 100% proof the shooter in question was cheating, scripting, or spawning in NPC's to loot, or if it's all just circumstantial, but I assume some admin or someone can review the logs and check it out. For reference this happened around 4:30pm EST today. Thanks!

Not sure if this is the right place or not, but figured I'd give it a go. I was playing on this server up until 5 minutes ago. I was playing with a friend who had spawned in Elektro and I was checking out Cherno. He was chased down by someone telling him "stop, I'm going to help you". He kept running, because well, in DayZ when someone says "Stop, I'm going to help you" it typically means "i'm gonna blow your head off and take your beans". Anyway, 30 seconds later he was teleported back to the player, who then proceeded to spawn a Huey. My friend knowing full well that running the script is not allowed figured he may as well kill as many of the scripters as he could, but when he tried to kill the original person to teleported him, they wouldn't die. I think one of them was an admin of the server, but they all had the tag [OCN]. I've no idea how to pull server logs, and I wasn't there in person to take screenshots or fraps it. Forgive the writing, it's late and I'm quite tired, but hopefully it makes enough sense. Thanks!
